So now, when Mary visits I can ask her to make some observations that I wouldn't want to ask one of my Mom's friends. For example, my Mom will hide the fact if her leg is swollen, but Mary will let me know! While Mom is still well in command of all of her daily living skills, I can ask Mary: "can you find a reason to go into the fridge and be sure there are no expired items" (so far, my Mom has been on top of that too), however with me in NY and Mom down south for the winter, it's great to have a pair of eyes that can help me make sure my Mom is always safe. Continuum Care Of Broward serviced my mother in law for the last couple of weeks. From the…read morebeginning their service was lax, we had to pay for the ambulance transfer initially since my mother in law is bed bound. The HHA care was acceptable, the nurse care met and exceeded expectations, the problem was when my mother in law got a UTI. My mother in law became very lethargic, and would not swallow the antibiotics, I had to send her to the hospital, something that was a no-no to Continuum, they would not allow the hospital to give her intravenous antibiotic. They threatened not to take her back, they would have rather have her die of a simple UTI. Beware of this company.

When I interviewed her, she seemed to get what I needed and was certain she could match us with an ideal nurse. I requested proof of her insurance and perhaps it was a coincidence but her effective date was the day of our scheduled work. Our 1st scheduled workday resulted in a nurse not showing up on time due to a family emergency. The nurse then texted that she would be here 2hrs late. This was not helpful as I would not be here to show her what was needed. I asked her if she was really able to assure me that she could make it, family emergebcy and all...and I was cursed out, called heartless and an F-bomb was launched at me because I "didn't know how to treat people." Even if that were true, that's not how you speak to a person who is going to employ you. Patia called another nurse who was off-duty who said she would come over after her appointment, by 10/11. At 2:30 no one had arrived and I was told she was still at her appointment from 8am. I called her and severed our agreement. I needed a dependable care provider for my mother. Plain and simple. I'm really sorry it didn't work out but it clearly wasn't a good fit.

Before she could be released to go home she needed clothes, her wallet, etc. She had been taken to the hospital by an ambulance and had no change of clothes, etc. Prior to my sister being discharged from the hospital Patia went to her house, got clothes, wallet, etc. She also arranged for my sister to be picked up from the hospital. Madeline, my sister's aide, took her shopping for groceries, made her bed and was just a regular powerhouse getting my sister set up. What more could you ask of a company. I can't say enough good about Aurelia's Angels. My sister will require an aide 7 days a week/6 hours a day. Patia is making that happen. If you are looking for a home health care company, I highly recommend Aurelia's Angels. Their pricing structure is very reasonable and the service and communication is top notch. Dahlia in the office is great at organizing the schedule. Our nurse Kim is very thorough and explains every single medication she takes vitals but also takes to time to just be with mom and connect to see what her needs are. Rosanna, our occupational therapist checks mom to see her weak and strong points and we see major significant improvement when we follow her advice. Danny our physical therapist has a good balance in figuring what she can and cannot do. She's so much better with this wonderful team of professionals by her side.
