Most unprofessional group I have ever had to deal with. They will repeatedly forget to schedule appointments and double book you then make you wait for hours just to get a regular eye exam. Not to mention they charged me the full price even though I gave them my insurance. I had to call and ask them to update my insurance only for them to realize I was covered in the first place. I didn't write a review back during the winter storm last March but I had left several messages about my rx and not one person called to follow up even after the office opened back up. On 12.22.21 I called and asked if I could have my husband pick up my contacts. She said yes but didn't bother to say the office was closing early. I've been in medical field 30 plus years personally . The front staff do not go above and beyond but this should have been a courtesy to let someone who drives 40 miles out of their way that the office is closing early since it's not posted on website and hours say 9-6 read more

I love it when I find doctors or service through friends of friends. A coworker and I ran into an old friend of hers from high school YEARS AGO, and they got to talking. I eavesdropped because it's what I do. Turns out my friend's friend works here, at Dr. Elliott's. Turns out, I needed a new eye doctor as my glasses were over 5 years old and scratched to hell, and the prescription was old and wrong. So I came down to see Dr. Elliott. Not only do I now go to Dr. Elliott, my boyfriend goes to Dr. Elliott (and even did some computer work for him a few years ago), his friend goes there, and one of my other coworkers goes there as of last month. They have a huge variety of frames, including my beloved Jalapeno frames. I stumbled upon Jalapeno frames a few years ago and became hooked. Now it's the only kind of frame I want, and I found the perfect one for my new every day glasses. Tortoiseshell, rectangle, kinda funky but not too insane. Yes. Plus, they take my insurance. And they give referral discounts, so the more people I refer, the more discounts I get. TELL THEM I SENT YOU! (just kidding. kind of.) They also do an awesome new digital thingy instead of dilating your pupils. It costs an extra $40 as insurance doesn't currently cover it, but it's cool. They take a digital picture of the back of your eye. What's cool about this is that they keep all of these on file and can detect changes over time, whereas you can't do that with dilation. I did it on my last visit and it was worth the $40 to not be blind all day. Plus, I got to see the picture of the back of my eye, which is cool. They don't do their glasses on site (like a Lenscrafters), so it takes about a week to get your glasses back, but I think the quality is better as a result. The glasses I had before I started coming to see Dr. Elliott were from Lenscrafters. The glasses themselves were okay, but they messed up the prescription in my sunglasses and I was completely unable to wear them because they made me throw up. When I took the sunglasses back to the same Lenscrafters out in Tyler a couple of weeks later, they swore the Rx was right. The end. Thanks, guys. I have never ever had any problem like that at Dr. Elliott's. Actually, I've had NO problems here. All the folks who work here are super friendly and funny, just like Dr. Elliott himself. I like doctors that are laid back and have a good sense of humor. Dr. Elliott fits into this category nicely. Currently, Elliott Eye Assoc. is located on the east side of Denton Tap, right near Creme de la Creme school. Soon, they're moving to a brand new facility right up the road, on the west side of Denton Tap. They're building their own building so they won't share a space with a handful of other medical professional type guys. Actually, they might be in the new location now. Do yourself a favor and double-check when you call and make your appointment. They also have Maui Jim sunglasses, Juicy Couture, Armani, etc. etc. frames. Any kind of frames you want, including kids frames, are here. Dr. Elliott has 3 kids himself, so he's good with kids, as are all of his office staff. I still drive here from Addison to see Dr. Elliott and have no intention of changing eye doctors, ever. read more

I scheduled an appointment for what I thought was my annual exam, where I wanted to discuss the dry eye that I was having as well when I saw the doctor. The actual doctor was very nice and informative, however the staff was very inconsiderate at the appointment and afterwards. I provided my vision insurance when I made the appointment, but when I got to the office I was told that I cannot be seen without my medical insurance on file as well. I did not have my information at the time due to a recent switch by my company, so I spent a full hour in the waiting room on the phone with my employer and insurance company trying to get the information for them. This was espicailly annoying since they had received my vision insurance and did not let me know that they also needed my medical, before the appointment. I understand policies are in place for a reason, but the staff was not helpful and did not communicate why this was needed, in addition to the vision insurance; they just kept saying that it was needed to see the doctor. Not only did I leave the appointment very frustrated with the staff, but what should have taken less than an hour took several. Fast forward to after the appointment, I got an invoice saying that I have a balance due. When I asked why I was being charged for my annual exam (that is covered 100% by my vision insurance and no additional procedures were done) I was told it was because the staff coded the visit as a medical appointment since I had complained of dry eyes. After all the back and forth the day of the appointment, I would have thought that they would have explained to me that the medical insurance was needed because they booked the appointment differently than what I had requested (annual exam). Espicailly since I was speaking to the staff member that handles all of the insurance billing. I am familiar with how medical coding works and never once was the appointment type brought up, ever after several questions on why the medical insurance was being requested. Essentially, the appointment would have been completely covered by insurance if the staff booked and coded my appointment correctly, however their incompetence cost me, literally. read more

The doctor I see is extremely friendly, however, the office itself is very inefficient. I ordered contacts from them a while back and they assured I would get them before I had to leave for college, and they came a week after I'd left. The office was extremely friendly in handling this and offered me 5 sets of samples to hold me over, which I really appreciated. Next, I called in to have my prescription sent to Krewe Optical, a company that guarantees lenses within 5-7 business days. After about 9 business days, I called Krewe, and they had never received my prescription from Vision Source, so I had to request it again. This time around, the lenses took a little more than two weeks, which leads me to assume Vision Source was delayed in sending the prescription, as the eyewear technician at Krewe put a rush order on my sunglasses because of the delay. Finally, I recently called to get my prescription to order blue light reducing glasses, and the woman on the phone said it would be sent by the end of the business day. I have yet to receive this prescription that I requested yesterday. Overall, Vision Source is a great eyecare facility, however, if you appreciate efficiency, I would not recommend taking your business here. UPDATE: One week later and I never received the prescription email from Vision Source. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Elliott's for several years, and have always been puzzled by the attitudes of his office staff. I went in for a visit last week, and had blurred vision a couple of days later. I called on a Monday and told them about my vision issue, and by Thursday no one had bothered to call me back. The only response they had was that the doctor said if I was concerned I could make another appointment. Of course I was concerned or I wouldn't have called! Their attitude was rude and disinterested. When I said that I had been thinking about switching doctors, and that this was a good time to do that, the staff member just said "thanks" in an excited manner. Clearly they don't care. And the doctor just keeps pushing more ways to spend money. When I had contacts he was always pushing glasses. Now that I have glasses he keeps pushing contacts. I'm going back to my old eye doctor. read more

I had cataract surgery on both eyes three years ago and now make regular appointments for complete eye exams every year. My wife had visited Dr. Elliott on our daughter's recommendation last year, and I recently switched as well. We both had the same experience: A very nice, new office infrastructure and instruments, a most kind and attentive staff, and a complete eye exam WITHOUT the usual dilation procedure. Wonderful staff and super new technology. We left Coppell years ago, and still I drive all the way back for annual eye exams. It's about trust. These are your eyes. If you don't take care of your teeth, you can get dentures; but if you don't take care of your eyes, then where are you??
