ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! If I could give negative stars I would! Please don't waste your time and energy with this office, find yourself somewhere else to go. I wished I had read yelp reviews for this clinic BEFORE scheduling my appointment.
I moved to San Antonio area in late December and my Mirena expired in January. So, instead of driving an hour and half to see my old gynecologist, I opted to search for a local office that was close by for my current and future Women's health needs. I called Virtuosa GYN and was told that since I was new patient I would need to schedule a new patient visit BEFORE they could replace my Mirena. I understood and scheduled the appointment. My husband had to take a vacation day to watch our children so that I could go in to my appointment. (This was his last vacation day available) ON THE MORNING OF THE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT (MARCH 16, 2020), less than 2 hours BEFORE my appointment, I received a call from the office cancelling my appointment because of the Pandemic stating that the staff needed to be home because the schools were closed. I was upset but I understood because we were being affected by this pandemic too. So, I explained that I needed my EXPIRED Mirena replaced and that I needed to get it done ASAP. I was informed that in lieu of the current situation, they would go ahead and order my IUD so that I could just come in and get it done because these were extenuating circumstances. I was emailed the paperwork needed to send my insurance so that the office could order the Mirena for placement. I emailed back the completed paperwork on APRIL 1, 2020 and I received an email confirmation of receipt. I was told it would take at least a month to received my Mirena.
I patiently waited but when I didn't receive a call from the Dr.'s office at the beginning of May, I called them to follow up. I was told that the pharmacy they had initially sent it to wasn't contracted with my insurance so they forwarded to a different pharmacy and they were working on it. So, I went ahead and called the specialty pharmacy and I was told that they couldn't do anything because I wasn't registered with them. I wen't through the process of registering and I was told that they were just awaiting the order/prescription from the Dr.'s office. So, I immediately called Virtuosa and let them know and I was told that they would send the order over. This was early May. I waited a few days, didn't hear back from anyone, followed back up with the pharmacy to get the ball rolling. The employees stated that they had never received the prescription from the clinic. I called the clinic back and they claimed that they had sent it. I have been going back and forth between the clinic and the pharmacy and nothing was being because the clinic refused to accept responsibility for NOT SENDING THE ORDER.
Yesterday, I called again because it has now been 4 MONTHS SINCE MY IUD EXPIRED, and I was told by one of Virtuosa's staff THAT THEY COULD NOT SEND A PRESCRIPTION BECAUSE I HADN'T BEEN SEEN AT THEIR OFFICE. I INFORMED HER OF MY SITUATION AND EXPLAINED TO HER EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED AND THE EXCEPTION THAT I WAS TOLD WAS GOING TO BE MADE AND SHE REPEATEDLY CUT ME OFF AND DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR WHAT I HAD TO SAY. I TRIED TO EXPLAIN MYSELF AND SHE KEPT TALKING OVER ME AND GETTING LOUDER. BY THIS POINT I WAS UPSET BEYOND UPSET BECAUSE AS A PATIENT TRYING TO GET BASIC CARE, THE LEAST SHE COULD HAVE DONE WAS HEAR ME OUT AND SHE REFUSED TO DO SO!!!!!!!!!!! SO, I MADE HER LISTEN AND SPOKE OVER HER TO HOPEFULLY GET HER TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS TOLD AND WHAT I WAS NOW BEING TOLD CONTRADICTED EACH OTHER. WHEN I TOLD HER THAT THEIR OFFICE WAS INCOMPETENT, SHE JUST HUNG UP ON ME.
I have worked in healthcare for 2 decades and the ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE and LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM from this office is BEYOND REPREHENSIBLE! Their LACK OF ETHICAL BEHAVIOR AND MORAL UNDERSTANDING is EXACTLY WHAT LEADS TO POOR PATIENT CARE. This office's indifference toward patient health and safety is unconscionable.
I am glad that I didn't make it the appointment as I DO NOT TRUST THIS OFFICE TO CARE FOR PATIENT'S PROPERLY. I WILL BE DRIVING TO AUSTIN FOR MY CARE.
I WILL ALSO BE REPORTING THEM TO THE MEDICAL BOARD. read more
