Hollywood Babylon is one of the few in Melbourne, specialising in tarot, crystals and 'alternative apparel'. Let's face it... what do you buy for the gal that has everything? A tarot reading obviously. What I like the most about Hollywood Babylon is that they also hold regular classes for beginners in witchcraft - both in groups and one-on-one sessions for those who are more hardcore. Pricing is reasonable with a 3-month tarot insight setting you back $60. It's a beautiful shop filled with strange and wonderful things... Definitely have a peak inside even if it doesn't sound like your cup of tea. It's a fascinating space!

Psychic Jacquelene Close-Moore is one of the best in the biz The moment I walked in to The Psychic Star Jacquelene knew me; previous health issues, a recent relationship bust-up and even my date of birth. Through tarot and palm reading she then told me my future. Despite being "a bit dippy", I don't always believe in this kind of stuff, but Jacquelene really impressed me. But more-so than that, she is a truly fascinating character with great knowledge of the industry. The Psychic Star itself is an incredible store where you can buy tarot cards, psychic art, crystals and scents. There is even a stuffed camel named Kamahl that will stare at you out of the corner of your eye, but always look away at the last minute... creepy. A reading is very, very expensive so please keep this in mind if you are thinking of going.

A Summer Chardonnay, for example, could either instantly delight or cause repugnant disgust. This is why VIC100 is a standout event. You get to sample the top 100 approachable and accessible wines from Victoria's burgeoning wine regions. This selection makes picking some real winners a breeze. A handy brochure showcasing the cream of the crop was a definitive keepsake. I'll be sure to keep it handy when next prepping for a soirée. The master classes were a lot of fun too. Prosecco and Aperol Spritz cocktail making was a particularly fun standout. The Riedel glass for your wine tasting pleasure was a classy touch too. A fun crowd and entertaining winemakers topped the afternoon. I'm looking forward to next year. Thanks for putting this one on the radar Yelp, and for the standout hospitality.

I have a massive crush on a felt-y purple puppet. As you might have guessed from my yelp picture,…read moreI'm a big fan of puppets and the performances from 'Randy' hit my favorite kind of puppetry - adult comedy, dark humor, and quality puppeteering. If you check out Randy's bio, it appears that I'm not the only fan, as he's gotten some great reviews and been nominated and/or won various festival award in Australia. The performances are engaging and I am able to suspend my disbelief that I am watching what is essentially an inanimate lump of felt and foam. Instead I'm engrossed in Randy's character and story, or am just in pain from laughing about a puppet doing a physical comedy joke about eating fish sandwiches and oral sex. (Maybe you had to be there for that one.) I try to see a lot of shows during festivals like the Melbourne Fringe Festival and the International Comedy Festival (last year I saw over 60 shows during the Comedy Fest) and Randy was one of the top performers on my list.
