There are so many options when it comes to lithium battery storage with the increasing popularity of e-Bikes, so when I decided to purchase my new e-Bikes to travel with us during our RV travels I knew this would be something that I needed. If these e-Bikes were going to be stored in my garage at home only I'd probably never have a need to remove the batteries when charging but traveling with them presents a different challenge. When it comes to lithium batteries safety is of the utmost importance, not only do they require special handling these e-Bike batteries are heavy and susceptible to damage if dropped or not maintained correctly.
Why did I buy Viltex? Well its the German Engineering and although they are manufactured in China as most are these very heavily padded cases are designed like no other. Most claim to be fire and explosion proof well I can't nor do I want to find out if their claims are true but with the ultra thin materials and Velcro only closures I don't have much confidence in those designs, quality or performance.
Viltex really is a step ahead of their competitors when it comes to the construction and design and their prices reflect this. These battery cases are very heavy duty with aggressive stitching throughout, they do have Velcro closures on the interior flaps but also have (5) heavy duty buckles on the exterior and nice straps to carry them. The interior offers ample room for the large battery for my e-Bike along with the battery charger, cords and also my e-Bike controller that could easily get damaged during transport if not removed from the bike and protected.
I actually ordered a cheaper version of this battery case from a different manufacturer and saved a lot of money, but boxed it back up and returned it immediately after opening and seeing the thin and flimsy construction and quality. The Viltex case is not a cheap copycat case that you'll see on the internet by sellers who never touch the products they offer - if protecting your investment and safety is your top priority there's no need to look any further and remember no matter what the claims are none are completely fire proof are explosion proof as many claim but this one does offer an acceptable safety solution... read more
