I don't doubt your sincerity, but you might take another look at your school statistics and see what the average SAT score really is. Oh... I just looked it up. IN 2005, the max score went up to 2400. In 2016 it came back down to 1600 again. I see how one could get confused about that.

They will be rude to your kids as if they employ them. This school is a no nonsense business and your children are their employees, keep away from this poor excuse for an education at all costs EDIT: For those who doubt that I went to this school. My art teacher, Mrs F, was out of her mind. She gave us yellow foam to use for 'art'. She told us not to get it in our eyes. We were in 6th grade. She never taught. Never. My Spanish teacher sent one of friends home for wearing sweatpants. This was not uncommon. They hold an auction every year to generate funds. They have multiple magazine subscription sales programs where students are encouraged to sell magazines in exchange for prized. One such prize, costing one subscription, is a random drawing from a pencil dispenser. They drawing determine your price, often what was literally a colored cotton ball. Their honor role was paid. A $5 donation bought you a place on the honor roll. They state on their website that 100% of their graduates enroll in college. When I was there, there were 4 seniors. The fees for this school are huge. Which is fine if it weren't a toxic environment where revenue is put above students. Everything they do is done to create the illusion that they are using your money for the benefit of your kids. Do not be fooled. Get out while you can. Public school is much better, with teachers that actually care.

It's like a big family - a great community to be a part of. Coming to Peoria from the UK, we wanted a secular option for our children that embraces all religions, and the cultural diversity - much like an International School - was what first attracted us to PA. The curriculum is varied, challenging, and hands-on. Really engaging for the children, not just geared towards passing tests. I believe the kids really benefit from the experimental learning and all the extras PA has to offer above and beyond the public schools - such as the Outdoor Education Center, (a working garden / outdoor classroom), huge indoor gym, and all the diverse extra curricular activities. My kids have enjoyed trying out (among other things) Tae Kwon Do, Robotics club, lego club, Ballet, Yoga, Gymnastics, STEAM art, Scholastic Bowl, Fencing, Cub Scouts, piano, guitar, ukulele, cheerleading, mathletics, Speech, debate, cookery, and pottery (the school even has its own kiln!) Multicultural Night is a highlight of the year, along with Halloween Trunk-or-Treat, Family Picnic /Movie Night, and the Annual Gala. PA is a special place. I highly recommend coming for a tour.

Unfortunately, we…read moreeventually had to pull my son out due to witnessing several different staff members putting their hands on the kids and yelling at them. He attended in the 4/5 year old class. I witnessed one employee grab a child by the chin, turn his head to her and say "look at me!" I witnessed another grab my own child by the arm and pull him to her because he stepped out of line. I also witnessed a staff member bent down to a sitting child yelling in his face. The look on his face was one of pure terror. (I'm not talking about a stern, raised voice. This was indeed yelling.) I picked up my child one afternoon, and could clearly hear a staff member yelling in the infant room through the closed door. What could you possibly have to yell at infants about?! My son would tell me with no prompting how one of his teachers was mean, always yelled, and also flicked students. (This was not Miss Maggie. She is a great teacher and probably the best at the center.) Another thing that made me uncomfortable, was when my son came home singing a song with the words, "It's Christmas, don't be a jerk." In my personal opinion, "jerk" is not an appropriate word to be teaching 4 and 5 year olds. I spoke to the director and I was assured that the teachers would be "talked" to, but I continued to witness these things after that. I think more than "talking" to should have been done as it's unacceptable to put your hands on children in the manners that I saw. We also felt very uncomfortable dropping off and picking up my son because most of the staff would give no greeting or even look in our direction. I'm not sure if this was due to my complaints to the director or not. My son gave 5 members of the staff Christmas presents and received a thank you from only one (Miss Maggie). It's a shame to have to explain to a young child why some of his "teachers" didn't like his gifts, which is what he asked me. As I previously stated and to be fair, this center is absolutely amazing at the planned activities, field-trips, and learning for the children. I was very impressed with that. We just weren't comfortable with the overall treatment of the children besides that. After posting this review on their Facebook page, it was promptly deleted and I was private messaged by the Assistant Director! Instead of addressing concerns, they blame me for "never being happy" and having too many questions and concerns. Every parent should be able to ask questions and share concerns with the establishment tending to their child!

Unfortunately, the reality was very different and the decision turned out to be a major mistake. Students are treated more like high schoolers than college adults, with policies and oversight that feel controlling and out of step with what most families expect from a university. The most alarming issue, however, is how the school appears to handle rape and sexual assault. From what we witnessed, the system seems to protect perpetrators far more than it protects victims. Individuals accused of serious misconduct appear to face minimal consequences, while victims can feel ignored, blamed, or even vilified for speaking up. That kind of environment discourages reporting and raises serious concerns about student safety. Drugs and alcohol are also clearly present on campus, yet the systems meant to monitor and address these problems seem ineffective. We did ask questions about safety and student well-being before enrolling and, unfortunately, believed the reassurances we were given. In hindsight, the reality did not match the rhetoric. Overall, the college does a very good job marketing itself and creating a positive first impression. Unfortunately, our experience suggests that the reality behind the brochures is far less reassuring. Families considering this school should ask difficult questions about student safety, accountability, and how serious incidents are actually handled.
