The floors are divided with each process of making beer and then a movie following the distillery and finally the tasting room. They give a generous pour of some of the current brews. Make sure you stop by the gift shop and pick up some goodies. We tried the Wäs beer they showcased in the restaurant and they have a great dark stout called petroleum. Accurate to its name, it's a slow pour of viscous dark deliciousness. I would definitely take friends to do the tour or the restaurant or both again. Well done.

"Artisanal" comes from US microbreweries where clientele is earned through communal bonds, trust and friendship. This place is a rude caricature of this original movement. We tried the Mississippi brown ale by Mistura Classica and it was quite tasty, not bitter but smooth, dark in color but light in flavor with a caramel finish. The one of the dishes of the day was herbed rice with pulled duck. It was quite tasty, a bit salty but flavorful. We also tried the steak tartare sandwich which came open- faced on a slice of hearty wheat bread covered in sour cream and piled high with minced meat and a cracked egg. Be forewarned that this is raw meat and a raw egg. However with the freshest ingredients this can be quite tasty. Here, they've done steak tartare right. Yet another reason to be impressed by this small unassuming German restaurant.
