Best Spring Rolls in town! A really authentic vietnamese restaurant and very affordable.

Visits: 6+, lunch and dinner (not that it matters - same menu at all times). Food: Harrisonburg is a small city in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley. It has no reason to have such an amazing Vietnamese restaurant. But it has one. And my god, it is glorious. The pho is hands down the best pho I've ever had, with an absolutely delicious broth that makes you wish you knew their recipe. Their banh mi is also top notch and extremely tasty (if perhaps much less healthy than the pho). Just wonderful. The menu is small, but perfect. They know exactly what they make, and they make it incredibly well. Atmosphere: Quiet (in a good way) and clean. Perfect for lunch, but good for dinner, too. Service: Prompt and nice. No complaints here! Cost/Benefit: Amazing. The pho is only $8.50. The banh mi is only $5. This place is literally as inexpensive as most fast food. The quality has been consistent for at least half a decade, when I first started going there. Every single time I'm in the area to visit Shenandoah National Park, I go here at least once, and I'm never once disappointed. read more

My wife and I eat out here more than anywhere else in Harrisonburg. They have awesome pho at a great price, definitely the best pho in town. Ok... if you can judge a restaurant for food and service alone this place is the Bees Knees! It was super clean. The menu is extensive but very well done. I got B3. Bún Tht Nng Ch Gi... don't care how you pronounce it because I couldn't say it right anyway with my mouth stuffed full of those amazing noodles. It's had all the different levels of flavors, superb textures from the meat and vegetables that you only get from freshness. I had no idea what I was going to order when I went in but you could tell that every customer that came in other than me was a regular and that says a ton. I ended up asking a neighboring customer what he had because I was having major food envy and he directed me to B3. Bún Tht Nng Ch Gi and I have no regrets. I kept telling myself what else I could fit in my belly after this huge portion. The only part that was disappointing was I ended up asking for a pork bun and they had sold out. It was right after lunch so completely understandable for someone that makes their food so fresh. Go there ! If you know that style of food you will not be disappointed. If you're looking for a five star experience go there anyway . The food is five star served with paper napkins (which you will need extra) , plastic spoons , wooden chopsticks and I regret nothing . They have the best Pho, home made "cha gio" (spring rolls), "banh mi" (sandwhich) in town. If you wanna go healthy, try summer rolls which is low calories, veggie and Yummy....I come here all the time and find everything I want here. Truly authentic Vietnamese food. We are big fans of Vietnamese and we're very pleased by Vietopia. We stopped in for lunch and had a bun and a Bahn mi. Both were very good. The Bahn mi had a very nice surprising amount of kick! Spring roll appetizer was very good and the peanut dipping sauce was exceptional. .. lots of hoisin, just the way we like it. No pho this tine... maybe next time we are passing through. read more

Best pho place I have been to! This is where I first tried and fell in love with pho. Nowhere I have been since seems to compare. The prices are cheap, the service is good, and the beef pho (pho tai) is delicious. It's definitely a hole in the wall and not fancy by any means, but it is the best. Look, the food is good, but the service is horrible. My boyfriend and I came in around 7pm and were seated with a random group of people. I get it, it was busy. The waitress sets the menu down and I begin to look through it. Not even 5 minutes later, while I'm clearly talking about menu options with my boyfriend, she asks "Are you ready to order now?", I politely says "no" and that we needed more time. Exactly 2 minutes later she comes back and again asks if we're ready now. I was annoyed and just chose my pho and handed her the menu. I HATE feeling rushed. A group of people came in and they were seated next to us and it was the most uncomfortable thing ever. I couldn't even have a conversation with my own boyfriend because it was overly crowded and loud. I was definitely annoyed. Our noodles arrived and the waitress asked who had ordered A-10 so I pointed to my boyfriend and she kept asking as if she didn't understand why I was pointing. I kept saying "he did. He ordered it". She's behind me with the hot soup and says rudely "LET ME DO IT" as if I was going to reach out and take it away from her?? She proceeded to carry the soup over my head and leans over to place it in front of him without saying "excuse me" or anything. I'm pissed now. I get my soup, I eat in silence because the groups next to us were loud, no one checks in with us, I immediately want to leave. They care a lot about having a full house instead of considering their customer's comfort. read more

My second visit here in the past few months. I visited with two family members, one of whom lives in town, has been several more times, and is a big fan. I have enjoyed the food both times I've visited (pho and spring rolls) and have left full and happy both times. Service is prompt and friendly. Prices are fair. The decor is basic but that doesn't detract much. I did order iced tea, and got unsweetened iced jasmine tea, but I am from the South, and sweet tea is a thing I can be picky about. I used to love this place. But there is a new guy there who is very rude. I have worked in a restaurant and I know this one is family owned but I would never allow a customer to be talked to like that. I consider myself to be a very understanding person and I know there is a language barrier. He was beyond rude to me and my friends who were with me. The pho here is awesome! The portions are huge and if you're really hungry, you can get extra noodles for like $1.50 more! They have really good flavor and the meat is tender. They also have banh mi sandwiches, which you basically can't find anywhere in Harrisonburg! I always get the pork banh mi because the chicken one is sometimes too dry. I also love their freshly made bao (Asian buns) and sesame balls they have sometimes. Definitely worth trying! read more

I had made previous visits in the past but finally writing a review on this place. I have made this place a must stop everytime I drive down 81 though its not the best pho I ever had but for it's location its amazing and decent price and portions! the weakness would be the broth as I taste some msg in it but the quantity of meat in the A15 and the ingredients are fresh, I usually don't put and eat the jalapenos but they are sliced superthin and fresh I just had to eat them! They also have a good variety of their summer rolls I got the grilled pork inside them just make sure you are aware which day you plan to go as they are closed on a certain weekday read more

I have loved Vietnamese food since the 70s, when I was invited to Vietnamese homes for a homemade meal. I crave Vietopia's spring rolls. since the first time I ate one of these delights, as fresh as a spring morning, with crisp vegetables. mint leaves and tasty bits of meat or shrimp in delicate wraps with a delicious peanut sauce. I could make a meal of them alone, but I feel guilty coming in for two (large) spring rolls for $3.50, so I order something else as well. Vietopia is as good as --or better--than any Vietnamese restaurant in which I have eaten. over the past 40 or so years. Service is unobtrusive and efficient and, not incidentally, the food is so delicious that I sometimes drive the 20 miles from another town to satisfy my cravings. I love this place. read more

Stopped for takeout on my way home the other day. After a long debate I ordered the grilled shrimp/grilled pork bun (vermicelli noodles). Even as takeout the presentation was good, with the noodles and meat in one partition of the tray, pickled carrot and radish in another, and little containers of fish and chili sauces in the third. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I really wanted pho but that doesn't carry out so successfully, so I will eat in next time. Keep in mind that this is Vietnamese fast food so the menu is slightly limited, but it's all fresh and good. read more
