The front desk check-in had no interest in telling me that they could give me a full week parking ticket that would get me out of their lot for a small fee. Then when I did get the ticket, three mornings in a row it didn't work, and I had to leave my car in bad weather and block others in to get a new ticket at the front desk. And each time, the staff's attitude was either indifference or humor at my plight. Work meetings dragged on until 9:45 one evening, I had not had a chance to get dinner. I went down to their bar, where ostensibly they serve food until 10:00, they refused. I ended up ordering UberEats. I had two separate stints here in about a two week time period, separated by one day when I was in another city. The first time around, I had a 10th level room, the second time, it was 3rd level. The second time, I was not able to use the Executive Lounge on the 11th floor because I did not have a 10th floor room. It didn't seem to matter that I am a Hilton Honors member with a lot of points. Rooms, breakfast, and the gym were okay, but the inconsistent execution and lack of care for the customer by the indifferent staff leave me saying boo, Dusseldorf Hilton. Boooooooooooooo!!!!!

We booked three rooms and made very clear that we come with extensive photo equipment. Upon arrival, we were informed that the rooms in the first floor (not ideal, since our equipment is big and heavy) and that we MUST NOT use the elevators, as they had a huge function in the lobby and we could not load. We had to carry all gear up the narrow stairs - over 1000kg (2000lbs). Then, we had three rooms - and there was a major issue with the air condition. We were toasted in room #1 and froze our nose off in our retreat, room #3, which we had to give up using. The banquet staff - some I know for decades, were deeply apologetic and brought blankets and coffee and tea - it was really freezing cold. After we left, I checked back with sales - took weeks to get someone responsible on the phone - and I was told "this is the first I ever hear - and why didn't you check with reception (we did every ten minutes) and other stuff. I gave them month to compensate - no interest. If we had not booked our events already this fall, I'd never go again. Sadly, the rooms are rather meh too - we do not stay since years. A shame really, as otherwise the hotel works fine for us and our events.

Even if you just walk, you can find dozens of nearby restaurants and the old city is only about a 10-15 minute walk from here. The service was good. Rooms were clean. The breakfast buffet got pretty crazy the first day we were there, but only because we arrived later than normal. If you have breakfast around 7:30-8:30 you should be good. They have an okay selection of cereals, bread, fruit, and drinks. Nothing too fancy, but enough to get you ready for a day around the city. The heater worked well, I liked the big windows in our room on the 5th floor, and the soft and firm pillows were nice. The shower also has good pressure. They let us check in early, which was nice. They will also watch your bags if you arrive earlier than they can provide a room for. I will say that the walls seemed a little thin. Especially when around 8 PM on New Year's Eve the room next to us started their loud music up. Nothing like hearing loud, drunken, singing? like it's inside of your room. However, that was the only issue over the 2 nights we were there. I would stay here again.

The room for me is way too warm, and I can't open a window to cool it off. The air conditioning will not turn on in November, my stay. The room is clean and small. I came from airport on a taxi and we were keep looking for Mercure Hotel sign for over 30 minutes, which was very frustrating. I learned communication is one of the worst things at this hotel. Rooms are very old, no fridge, no bottle water when you arrive which makes you to go grocery shopping as you arrive which is ridiculous. Bathroom is moldy, no trash bag inside the trash cans. No phones inside the room to communicate with the reception, no piece of information about how things are working in this hotel. Staff at reception were Ok but oh my lord, the breakfast area staff beyond rude. More specifically the chubby guy with black hair. He has his own rules and as soon as you don't speak German he gets more rude. He is very entitled and bossy and gives you the impression that you paid the hotel to have him to boss you around. Breakfast was served until 10:30, and since I was jet lagged and on vacation I was going usually after 9am. One day he said he took the milk because " breakfast time is over at 8:30", the other day he took the cream cheese away. One morning as I walking to seat at a table, he loudly called me out and told me he wants me to seat at the front. They are very condescending as well, when I expressed my concerns to the receptionist, they would change their attitude and words and blame it on miscommunication. I stayed EIGHT nights and every morning the chubby black haired guy would ask for my room number while I was observing him he was not asking from German speaker guests. All and all, this was my first and last time staying at this hotel. They know nothing about customer service and they would ruin your vacation with their horrible service.

It's a cute and trendy hotel located in Little Tokyo, which was walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars. Their lobby provided a full coffee shop, barber shop, and a mini store to buy snacks and some toiletries. The bathrooms in the lobby were very clean. I loved how they had the fancy Toto toilets just like in Japan. We received one drink coupon each and we used them for a couple of glasses of house wine at the trendy rooftop bar during cocktail hour. The bar is all indoor, no outside access. Check in and check out processes were fast and easy. The rooms were very spacious and clean. We loved that there was a huge sliding door that divides the bathroom, but opens up completely to make the room even more spacious. The two single beds stuck together were pretty comfortable though the pillows could use a little more fluff. The shower did not have a curtain or a door to block it from the rest of the bathroom. But because of how spacious it was, we didn't have a problem with water splashing out. I would have appreciated more ledges to put toiletries on. The room provided complimentary still and sparkling water bottles and some toiletries including hand soap. Hair dryer was readily available. There was no available iron/ironing board inside. Our only complaint was that the AC never got cold no matter what we did we the settings, so sleeping was a bit uncomfortable with the heat. There was also no room phone to call the front desk. Overall besides the AC problem, we had a great stay and would definitely consider staying here again if ever we come back to Dusseldorf!
