They REQUIRE a YEARLY "wellness check" ($85) simply to have a common heartguard med refilled. Most humans don't even have annual "wellness checks." Their goal is to get you in and up-sell you. I felt very pressured and shamed to have bloodwork done ($$$) due to use of heartguard med, along with other suggested not-needed tests. Income/profit seems to be the reoccurring business-model theme, not care for pets. The Manager has stated that the State requires them to have an established relationship with you and your pet prior to filling any medications. That is true, but their deception comes in when they do not mention that the State does NOT require an annual wellness check with an established relationship, and I have taken my dog there regularly for years. This unethical business is all about money. I am filing a complaint with the Colorado State Board of Veterinary Medicine, and so can you: https://dpo.colorado.gov/FileComplaint

Here is what it costs for two healthy dogs to get annual physical and three shots each- rabies , heart worm and kennel I saw the bill and the charges I requested a refund of the labs NOT preformed and the refused All treatments are done behind closed doors so you never witness what is happening, if anything to your pet!

I first went to Vida with a sick cat about two years ago. They quickly diagnosed kidney failure and kept him a couple days to try and treat him. His health improved slightly but then his lab work went South and the vet was very honest with me about his prospects for a good life. I decided to have him euthanized and the staff was terrific. I've taken my two miniature dachshunds to Vida for routine examinations and spaying and neutering. Just this month I got a new cat from the Denver animal shelter and they allowed me to bring the cat and my two dachshunds in for a check up and shots. They are very upfront with their costs and estimates and I've never been surprised with the final bill. I certainly recommend them

    Moosh as a Kitten

I have been taking my cat Moosh to Vida in Denver since she was a kitten (she's now 4). I have never met a more wonderful team than Dr. Kelsey Schroeder, Tyler, & Hannah. Their kindness, authenticity, and attention to detail is unmatched regarding their care for animals, and their customer service skills. Best Vida Vet team that I've experienced in years. They not only eased Moosh's anxiety, they eased mine too! I am happy to put the trust of Moosh's care in their hands, and that really means a lot. Thank you to this team for their hard work and dedication to care for pet clients, and their owners too!

Dr.Zalesak is amazing she gave me a second opinion on my red foot (Tank) which saved her life. I bought Tank from a pet shop after waiting 3 months for them to treat her, their vet did not deal with exotic animals so they cleared her even though she still had a life threatening respiratory infection. I am so grateful for Tanks Dr and the entire staff at Vida Vet for giving my Tank a fighting chance at surviving. At vida vet they are always so empathetic, welcoming and transparent with costs or procedures. I hope Dr.Zalesak never goes anywhere because she is definitely an asset. She did her research from the beginning using various resources gathering all the information to better support my Tank which I greatly appreciate with all my heart. If you're looking for a great Vet don't hesitate to give Vida Vet a try. I always listen to the way they treat their patients and their caregivers and it always put a smile on my face.

We rushed my old girl here last week. Unfortunately, the vets let us know it was her time. They sat in the floor with me and old girl and explained why this was the best choice (even cried with me). They were very kind and helpful - this wasn't her primary vet but it was the closest one. They made her feel at home and let us bring her home for a last day and night with her. I called and had the same vet (wish I could remember her name but, this was traumatic) explain to our family that we were doing the right thing for her. Thank you, Vida family.

Standard with all adoptions from the DFL is a paid-for visit to a veterinarian.. they provided a list of clinics near me, GoodVets - GT was the closest. They got me in the next day. Monty & I arrived to the location, the staff was incredibly friendly & the good boy enjoyed several treats & pets from everyone. Unfortunately, the infection in his mouth was still present and I was told that he would need a couple of medications to finish it off as well as several vaccines. They provided several different options for Monty's vaccines at different price levels, which I greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, I didn't have the funds at the time for the medications he needed for the infection in his mouth, let alone any of the vaccinations. I went home bummed out about the fact that I couldn't get Monty what he needed. I got a call later that day from GoodVets, and they had gotten in touch with the DFL, who provides a voucher that covers up to $250 for shelter related illnesses, so it paid for the cost of Montgomery's medications. Earlier this morning, I stopped in and grabbed the meds. Thank you, GoodVets - Golden Triangle for treating & ensuring that Montgomery, got the meds he needed. I genuinely appreciated that. Pros: Location, staff is A+, but the fact that they went through the extra effort to get Monty what he needed was what made me truly happy with the place. I made myself a reminder in my notes to give an honorable mention to Alex at the front desk, who was not only very nice but also incredibly helpful in regard to scheduling as well as any questions I had. A+ communication. I had also told myself that I would mention the Vet Tech who saw Monty, however her name alludes me now.

First- 2 visits ago they had him listed as a 2 year old. He's been going there 3 years so it's not possible for him to age backwards. Plus they have his file scanned from his adoption showing his birthdate. I informed them he was 6. My most recent visit I see on his file that he is now 4. I crossed it out and changed it again back to 6. The reason this is serious to me is because they keep referencing his age when analyzing his conditions and saying blah blah "for such a young cat." But he's not 2. Or 4. He's 6. And his name also is not Oliver... I went in on a Monday and had bloodwork done. They were supposed to call the next day with results but didn't. And not the next day either. His vet had gotten sick and called out and it would've been under her specific file to call me, but given I had called inquiring I feel a different professional should've been able to at least convey the results to me more quickly. Finally, today I dropped him off at 7:45 for an ultrasound. I had been under the impression and told that it would occur between 9-12. I just called and the tech didn't even get there until after 11. Now he has to sit there for a bit longer and I had been counting down minutes to get his results. I loved this vet and I'm really sad about what's happening there. Not sure if the switched systems or something but normally they, and especially Kim, are super good at communicating and doing everything they can. My Experience at MaxFund Veterinary Clinic…read more I've been bringing my 14-year-old Chihuahua, Sadie, to MaxFund for several years, and I've always supported their mission as a no-kill facility. I was genuinely grateful that this recent visit was scheduled quickly, and the two vet techs who handled Sadie were kind, gentle, and patient while clipping her nails, cleaning her ears, and giving her shots. I truly appreciate them. However, my experience with the veterinarian left me disappointed and honestly heartbroken. The vet was in the room for maybe ten seconds. I tried to explain a few concerns--I mentioned a strange swallowing noise Sadie makes in her sleep and that I was worried about a possible ear infection due to the odor and buildup. The vet briefly glanced at her ears and said they "looked good," then left. I never saw her again. When I asked the techs if Sadie might have an ear infection, they told me it would require testing her earwax under a microscope--something I would have gladly approved, but nobody offered or followed up. I left with no answers. Today, Sadie is still shaking her head, and I still don't know if she's in pain. Little things added up. They couldn't find our record at first, even though Sadie has been here multiple times over the years. They had her birth year listed incorrectly. I was also billed $25 for a missed appointment from 2022 that I was never informed about--just added to my receipt without explanation. After reading many other recent reviews from pet owners who felt dismissed, judged, or left without answers, I started to understand I wasn't alone. I love that MaxFund is no-kill, but compassion also means truly listening--especially to someone advocating for an elderly dog who means everything to them. Sadie is not "just at the end of her life." She is my family, my best friend, and she deserves a vet who will check her teeth, test her ears, answer questions, and take a moment to care. I shouldn't leave more worried than when I arrived. I wish I could still trust this clinic, but I can't. I will be taking Sadie elsewhere, even if it costs more--because having our concerns heard is worth it. I sincerely hope MaxFund can improve, because their mission is important, but right now, the follow-through is deeply disappointing. If you are looking to adopt I would look towards the Denver Dumb Friends League who now operates under the name Humane Colorado. Same location and they never changed their goals or bottom line. Just the name.
