Catching up on my reviews from my vacation and I never thought to review church but stumbled upon…read morethis so here we go! Life.Church is a great place to come just be yourself and explore faith or worship like you've been a believer for 70 years! If you haven't, please do. This particular location is where my family has attended for the last two years since moving to Oklahoma. Full disclosure, my husband works on the YouVersion team for Life.Church but they in no way solicited my review. Come in jeans, come in sweats, come in a dress or suit... you will feel just find no matter how you show up!! There's always sweet tea, unsweet tea, coffee and snacks in the lobby and no one is going to single you out if you don't want to be asked a million questions, but there is alway somewhere to go to talk to someone as well. There's a wall of community groups to have a look at and often Pastor Stuart or (oh goodness... vacation tiredness has me forgetting the other gals name!! SORRY) are there to help guide you to the perfect community group where you will feel welcome. I've always found this aspect of church the most challenging and they were super helpful in getting us connected. Pastor Jacob is our location pastor. He is such a loving genuine guy, great solid human and I totally respect him. This is a video church meaning the teaching pastor, Pastor Craig is beamed in from either headquarters or pre-recorded studio times (always with a live audience). That may take some getting used to (and to be honest, I hated it at first) but you do adjust to it, and there is still live worship (more on that in a moment) and Pastor Jacob is always there to lead with announcements, to meet with people, pray with people and all that good stuff, and sometimes does the preaching as well. Craig is great at communicating, keeps it interesting and even has fun with it sometimes, which brings me to... JULY!! July is the month to make a visit if you have been on the fence!!! This is the time of year all L.C locations has At The Movies. We spend so much time decking out lobby's out to feel like you are walking into a movie set! It's always a surprise to see just wait waits for you these weeks. During that time, Craig preaches using movie clips. There are often special songs or video montages that start off the service as well. Believers an non-believers alike can enjoy a low pressure church experience here. KIDS: Pastor Stephen and Pastor Katie & Pastor Barbie (among others) run the Life.Kids childrens program... They are AMAZING! Some of my favorite people! I have been serving with them most of this year and you couldn't find more caring individuals who really want to make sure your kids have a great experience in Kid and also to make sure that those serving in Kids ministry feel loved, appreciated and supported. As a person who used to run a much smaller childrens ministry, let me tell you, they do a fantastic job. If you want a great, safe, learning and super fun environment for your kids to attend church, this is the place. Saturday nights or Sunday! YOUTH: Switch is the youth group here and they meet on Wednesday nights. My three girls have so much fun!! There's a great worship time (like going to a massive concert) and then they break up into small groups for a more connected time. They have so many different activities and things to do. My girls are all three so different, shy, energetic, extroverted, introverted, nerd, jock, quiet, loud... all three have found their place here. If your youth is on the fence about trying it... ask them to give it just 3 visits!! See what happens, because it really is a great place! WORSHIP: Worship is loud. You may count this as good, or bad. There are ear plugs provided for those who would like it (I have a sound sensitive teen so she will often grab a pair) or you can enjoy from the lobby before entering if you really struggle. It's a beautiful experience with Visual effects/lyric boards, lights and a full band. Pastor Rob, his wife and all of our musicians are super talented (you can check out the band Switch, look for their Symphony album to make sure you have the correct group on iTunes or Pandora or what have you if you wanna preview) but Sunday live is different. ONLINE: For times when you can't make it in person, you can always login and check out life.chruch online. Same teaching just online instead. There's still worship and such with Church online so you will not miss out completely. There's also lots of kids church videos online for all ages as well... you can look online or load the app on your Roku too. This is an AWESOME true Biblical nondenominational church where they literally go through the Bible…read morechapter by chapter, verse by verse, talk about biblical prophecy and is definitely a place to grow and worship. They have a potluck meal on the first Sunday of every month, are extremely friendly and they really do care about you. If you need a good home church, THIS IS IT! Big parking lot but smaller church feel. They have children's groups, coffee & mochaccinos for guests.

Its not one of those churches where it seems like you hear the same thing over and over. There seems to be a childlike exploration of the attributes of God that lead to understanding not only more about Him, but ones identity as a son or daughter of God. Good leadership, and excellent child care as well. I cant think of a time my wife or I didn't leave encouraged, as if the one who was teaching knew everything about us.

I was a member of Maranatha Church for 30 years, and a deacon the last 5 of that. When I first…read morestarted, although I disliked the pastor personally, I felt his teaching was sound. I was slowly sucked in, impressed by the biblical knowledge of not only the pastor, but of the general membership. However, what did not dawn on me was that general knowledge without the application of biblical principles based in love for your fellow man, just leads to arrogance, self-righteousness, cruelty, and destruction of others. It has taken me 10 years so far, and I am still not through purging this evil from my own life. The Doctrine of Separation has torn apart more families than I could ever begin to count. To my utter disgrace, I shunned lifelong friends and family. Then I got to experience the flip side after I left. I watched so-called "mature believers" ridicule a "baby believer", at one point even throwing her books in the floor, like high school mean girls, over jealousy. It was not her fault their husbands had wandering eyes. And I am ashamed that all I did was stand and watch in disbelief at this reprehensible behavior instead of putting a stop to it immediately. The slowly growing tolerance from the pulpit of adultery eventually led to wife-swapping and musical chairs on a widespread basis, even spreading to the ranks of the Board of Deacons. I actually penned a letter to the Board, and read it aloud in a Deacon's Meeting, (although I am sure that didn't make it into the Minutes). It, (and I) was dismissed without a second thought. By the time I became a deacon, Jack had had the Church Constitution amended to consolidate his power, so the Board of Deacons was there solely to rubber stamp decisions, carry out his wishes, and services his wants and needs, (which were quite extensive). Jack Ballinger refers to himself as a Pastor-Teacher, but all he does is teach what he wants. He is not a Pastor, as he does not believe in counseling, does not reach out to those in crisis, and ridicules those he feels are less "spiritual than himself, (which is everyone). Of 2 suicides in the church, (his son and mine), he was more hindrance than help, calling them cowards and weak. The fact of the matter is, WE failed those boys, as fathers, as counselors, and MOST OF ALL, as protectors of our family. There has been a homosexual child predator in the congregation for many years, directly protected by Jack Ballinger. Recently, (within the past few years) having found out about 2 more victims, that brings the total to 6 that I am personally aware of. I would guess there were probably many more, too ashamed, (as my sons were), to come out and admit it, especially in light of what DIDN'T happen with the previous encounters. There has been talk of Jack teaching Flat-Earth theory. I do not know about that. What I do know is that there have been a lot more evil and scandalous things to come from that man than some crackpot science. Why separate for that, and continue to perpetuate the much more evil teachings and practices of Maranatha Church, (and it's spinoff- Truth Bible Church)? If this letter keeps 1 person from falling into their grasp, it will have been worth my time to write this.

That's actually what drawn me to the church is that they care about picking up people, families and kids. The Pastor is very passionate and cares about others and what he is teaching. I've gone Sunday morning and evening and checked out Wednesday evening Bible study. I was not disappointed at all!

We had a HORRIBLE experience where we almost lost our child due to lack of communication and ignorance of the daycare personnel. Our child had been having several seizures in one day while at daycare and the daycare NEVER contacted us to tell us what was going. When we picked up at our regular time, she was handed to me she was completely unconscious and foaming out her mouth. We left and immediately took her to the ER. Our baby went into a coma and spent several months in the hospital. To this day the daycare has not followed up with us to check on the well being of our child. Please do not trust these people with your kids!! We would hate for other people to experience what we have gone through. Check the DHS website and do your research before enrolling you child into any daycare.
