Make sure you Google or GPS Rothenberg ob der Tauber (on the river).
If not you will have travel adventures but not the ones you planned. That said, thank you Steve Jobs for the iPhone's ability to right many wrongs.
We bypassed the interesting town to travel down in the valley to the Pension Fuchsmuhle and inn keeper Alex - a wonderfully gentile person.
The pictures at their website say it all - it is that beautiful. As it happens the website is in German... Not to worry. Alex speaks excellent English and showed us to our room with ensuite bath. Then he announced it was a short 15 walk to town. We drove and spent 6 hours wandering this interesting, walled, medieval town. Did I mention the town was uphill from the B&B?
The Germans make fabulous breakfasts and Pension Fuchmuhle was the first of many but one of the best. The bed was typical of all we experienced - two singles pushed together with delightful bedding and well appointed bath.
This was Herr Husband's favorite B&B.
