I can't say enough good things about Jeff. He is Just genuinely…read more an all-around good person. Jeff found a mistake in a document that was to my benefit. Every other attorney I spoke to said I didn't have a case. I knew right then that he was the attorney for me.

DO NOT HIRE Attorney Cooper. He did an ok job with getting a POA done when my dad was in the…read morehospital. Then I hired him to help with Medicaid planning - HUGE mistake. I paid a retainer (for more than my dad gets in one month's social security) at the very beginning of October. Jeff was hard to get in touch with at first, but he said he just moved so I understood he had a lot going on. Then we finally talked after almost two weeks and scheduled a follow up. It was a nightmare trying to get a phone call scheduled with him. He kept rescheduling and missing the follow up conversation, without any regard for my time while I was visiting my dad who was in a healthcare crisis. This was at the end of October and the Medicaid application deadline was by 11/1. I could not get in touch with him and I was in town visiting my dad for a week, needing to meet the deadline. On 10/21/25 I emailed Jeff and said I had to hire someone else to help me because we had gotten nowhere for weeks and the stress of trying to get him to work on my dad's application was just too much. I sent him an email, left a voicemail, texts. Jeff then texted me on 10/23 "As mentioned, there's more to this, please be patient". No response after that for over two months despite multiple requests for a refund for SERVICES NOT RENDERED. My dad missed the Medicaid filing deadline because Jeff was so hard to get in touch with. How can you charge a low-income elderly person who is in a healthcare crisis that much money and not work on their case at all? I wish I had googled him before hiring - turns out he's had this issue before with other clients. My patience has run out - we will be filing a complaint with the Indiana Bar Association and taking him to small claims court if my father doesn't receive a refund.

Law Office of Sarah Heck - Sarah Heck, Attorney at Law

I would not recommend this attorney's office based on our recent experience. During a very…read moredifficult time, after the sudden passing of my mother, my father's wife of 67 years, we reached out to this firm to prepare a simple amendment to his trust, as they were the original attorney. Unfortunately, they were unable to see us for two weeks and offered little empathy during our initial contact. While I was admittedly emotional, I respected their process and scheduled an appointment for my father. When we arrived at the scheduled time, we were told we had the wrong appointment time and would need to return later. My father is 92 and has limited mobility, so this was not a minor inconvenience. We agreed to return in two hours. Yes, I expressed frustration, but nothing warranted how we were treated. After getting home, we received a call offering to move another appointment to see if that would be more convenient, I thanked them profusely and said we would return at the agreed time. Fifteen minutes later, I received a call from the lead attorney, who was upset and informed me they were dropping my father as a client due to my behavior. I was shocked and accusations made which were not true. My father was the client, and he had only one request related to amending his trust before relocating his affairs to the West Coast. The decision to drop him came with no reasonable notice, his appointment was scheduled for that same day. Since the decision was made because of me, my dad is the client we asked to please de-escalate as the attorney was actually emotional not us. They were unyielding, my dad spoke with them and asked for their help upon the passing of his wife, and he would come to the office alone and they said no, we won't help you. Overall, the experience lacked compassion, professionalism, and understanding during a time when empathy was most needed.
