I was so excited to eat at this place when I learned that they would have live music on a Monday night when I was on vacation. It's a large spacious restaurant with outdoor seating adjacent to the beach. The tired looking waiter brought a small black board to the table with the "Suggestion": Tuna kebobs with mango and pineapple with Creole rice. It seemed like a perfect dish for me, given my MANY dietary restrictions. When the plate came out, beautiful as it was, there was no creole rice. Instead, the tuna was on a bed of mashed potatoes which I do not eat! I sent it back and was told by the waitress the they could make grilled vegetables like eggplant and tomatoes, which sounded like an acceptable substitution. Here comes the bait and switch number 2. Instead of coming out with grilled vegetables, the two, now COLD, tuna kebobs were placed on top of what looked like a college dorm room style sautéed vegetables, mostly carrots, and a slew of other small chopped vegetables that I do not eat including: yams, zucchini and a bunch of other stuff that I had no clue what it was.
I am truly disappointed with this place. I was looking forward to a lovely evening by the sea with live music in a wonderful ambiance. I certainly don't go out to dinner to eat something that I could have made better myself at home.
When I approached the owners about the situation, they suggested that I should have sent the plate back yet again. They tried to make up for it by offering me a free coffee or a free drink, however, I declined I was ready to not be in that place anymore. I told them that there is a clear lack of communication between their wait staff, who ignorantly offer one thing, and the kitchen staff who seem to do whatever they want, including altering the specials of the day.
If you go to this place, you might want to limit yourself to drinks, as there are plenty of lovely restaurants on Corsica that serve exactly what they have on the menu. read more
