We stopped in for lunch Friday and we were pleased with our meals. Beginning with a grilled octopus salad with fingerling potato "coins" capers and a tomato coulis. Then my wife had the eggplant parmigiana and I had a seafood stew that consisted of haddock, shrimp, mussels and calamari in a smoked tomato broth. (Mine was better). These 2 stars are for: The hostesses accommodating us when I inadvertently checked-in for my reservation to their restaurant instead of One Eleven Chop House. The man was even nice enough to cancel my reservation for me & we were promptly seated. The food & drinks tasted good but were overpriced for the portion size & what came with it.. Our waitress Clara came over in a reasonable time. She told us she & Alex are working together & asked what kind of water we wanted to drink. She returned with them in under 10mins & asked what we wanted to drink. We asked for a few more minutes since we didn't know the drinks were on the other side. Approximately 20mins goes by as we watched current diners & a new table seated near us being waited on multiple times by Carla & Alex. Even a new table near us was given their bread & oil & receiving their drinks before us. At one point, while Carla was talking to Alex, she gestured over in our direction (the corner), he turned & looked our way. But no one came over at that moment while we just sat with only glasses of water. By the time she came over, we gave our drink order & decided to give her the meal order as well. She returned within a few minutes, dropped off the bread & straight plain olive oil & jetted off again. No offer of fresh parm cheese like the new table had received. Another woman brought us our drinks after a bit. A second new table (larger group) was seated on the opposite side of us. Our salads came & my friend asked if there was dressing on it. We were told it was a balsamic vinaigrette, offered & accepted the fresh grated parm cheese. We couldn't see or taste a stitch of dressing, so we both had to drizzle plain olive oil for the bread, onto the dry salad. I continued to notice the frequency that Carla & Alex were at the other tables. At one point, while trying to get to the new table next to us, Alex bumped our table. Not a single apology was given! Our meals came in a reasonable time after the salads. Of note, I'm always surprised when I've order a meal with fries & not offered ketchup if it's not on the table or anything else. On her way by, Carla did ask if everything was ok. We said yes. I decided I didn't need the ketchup or wanted to wait for it. We ate about 1/2 our meal since we basically had the bread & salad so close to our meal. Carla boxed our leftovers, we decided against the dessert or coffee & got the check. Not one time did Alex come to our table except to bump into it. After my observations during our 1hr 20mins (no intentional delays on our part), that will be the last time I patron this restaurant. I have waitressed in the past, so I'm familiar with the role. I'm not expecting special treatment, but I expect the same level of interaction & customer service as the other patrons. We might not have looked like it, but when we receive that, we go above & beyond on our bills! read more

First off, this review should be 2.5 stars, but since that's not an option, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. In any case, the food was good, albeit a bit pricy for a restaurant of this level. The ambiance was fine. (We sat out in the porch area.) Unfortunately, the service was less than stellar. Primarily because we waited 30 minutes (absolutely no exaggeration) from the time we had finished our appetizers, to the time the server finally returned to our table to take the order for the entrees. This was totally unacceptable, and it put a damper on our "date night". I won't mention the server's name, but if and when we go back, and if she's still working there, we will make it a point to steer clear of her section. read more

Via is a really nice Italian restaurant. I used to come back in the day when I lived in Worcester so upon moving back I've been several times. The bar service is good, the wines are what you'll find at the sister properties of Sole and One Eleven for the most part, which is good, and the food is great. The portions are usually manageable here but beware if you get the Chopped Salad for lunch. It can literally feed 4 people. I was taken aback by this when I ordered one a few weeks ago. Even the people sitting around me were astonished. The menu here is great and is a go to Italian restaurant for me in the area. read more

Finally got to try Via. Unfortunately, left disappointed. Service was friendly but felt rushed. Servers clearing plates before a course was finished. Ricotta board was awesome but we felt we had to eat it fast or it was gone. Salmon was good but overcooked. Haddock was completely tasteless. Asparagus was too big and not trimmed. During our recent visit our party of 3 was quickly seated. We were attended to almost immediately by Kelcie, who was very pleasant. Our beverage order was taken and delivered quickly. Via is a place my husband and I often pass while driving in Worcester, but we never stopped in until a couple weeks ago. Boy do we feel like we had so many missed opportunities!! We started off with the crispy pork meatballs, which had a delicious apricot glaze on the top... they were hot and flavorful. The salads that came with our meal were fresh, the house dressing was quite good. Our entrees were mouth-watering... the roasted sucking pig was scrumptious!!! Shredded nicely, was paired with heirloom carrots, Brussels sprouts, and a corn pudding concoction - taking a bite with all components together made my tongue dance!! Then add the crispy chicharrones and it makes it perfect!! But the dessert... I got the Michaelangelato sampler. My choices of flavors in no particular order were limoncello, peanut butter chocolate chip, cappuccino, salted caramel, and pistachio. Worcester is a very diverse, up and comingg city. However this restaurant does not reflect that. It's a sleepy Italian spot with food that needs a refresh. The haddock had no flavor, no seasoning or flavor on the plate. The restaurant is nice and clean. They have good gelato. They even offer private rooms for events. However, I visited with a big group and the restaurant staff was very overwhelmed. The decor is nice. However I would definitely recommend other up and coming restaurants in the area. read more

Being located right next to my favorite steakhouse (111 chop house) dinner at Via was necessary. Table for four, outdoors. The menu was quite extensive. The decor was beautiful, entrance way was a bit daunting as one in the party uses a walker, but she made due with a bit of patience, (note to self be more mindful to the needs of others). Our dinner guests arrived and saw us seated, menus handed out and the waiter deserves a major shoutout for being so patient. Decisions were made, I got the baked haddock with potato and garlicky green beans. The others shared a plate of pasta and meatball. Dinner was served rather promptly, broke up the conversation and was met with smiles and hungry bellies. I skipped the bread, for room for my dinner. Clean plates all around, the dessert menu looked tempting, but passed. Two dinner companions got the sorbet/gelato offering and a slice of chocolate cake. This place was a chic Italian restaurant with a gorgeous looking bar surrounded by an attractive dining room area with tons of seatings, inside and out. We also noticed their massive open kitchen which created such a great ambience for this stunning restaurant. Cookie Butter Creme Brulee- Oh my goodness! This is a creamy, cookie flavor infused custard with a perfectly caramelized sugar crust to top it off. It's literally the creme de la creme. Nutty Irish- Hazelnut liqueur and Irish creme, sweet and delish. 5 Cone Samplers- Cute little gelati scoops on mini cones. Seven flavors to choose from like Salt Caramel, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chips, Pistachio and the standard flavors or the three sorbetti flavors. But eat them fast because it can get messy. Overall Service: I asked the bartender if she could make a drink that wasn't on the menu and she was quick to say no without any other recommendations. She gave one word answers throughout the night, didn't really check up on us and disappeared when we wanted the check. I recently tried Via for the first time last week, and boy am I embarrassed that I had never been before! From start to finish, I was blown away by the service, food, and ambience. I'm not even sure where to start... We began our night with two DELICIOUS cocktails off of their cocktail menu. My mai-tai was exceptional, but my wife's drink was one of the best she's ever had. The bread and oil was so good that we asked for seconds. For our appetizer, we tried the crispy pork meatballs which blew us away! Crispy exterior, moist interior, and a delicious apricot glaze. Outstanding to say the least. I opted for the pork shank for my entree, and it was the best pork dish I've ever had. Softer than the 2014 Seahawks goal line offense, I never once touched me knife. My wife's suckling pig was equally delicious, and I was exceptionally proud that our meal honored Ron Jeremy by going "pork, pork, pork." Sorry...too far? Desserts of creme brulee and the Gelato sampler were the perfect way to end the night. Our servers Brando and Chadd also deserve special mention. I haven't felt this important since Uncle Sam specifically wanted ME for the US Army. Exceptional service from start to finish! I can't wait to return to Via for a fantastic night out! read more

I have been here a few times and it has always been fantastic! For my latest experience, I went for date night on a Saturday with my boyfriend. We were able to get a last minute reservation and were seated in the enclosed patio area. Great atmosphere for a date night! We started with the lobster cocktail and bolognese arancini, which were both delicious. The lobster tasted fresh and was accompanied by cocktail sauce (if you don't like horseradish this might have too much for you) and a tasty mustard sauce. If you come here, you have to get the grilled Caesar salad with your dinner, it's amazing. Each time I've come to dinner here I've gotten the Berkshire pork chop. The apricot glaze, crispy brussel sprouts, Gouda risotto cake, and juicy pork chop are a perfect medley. Overall, I highly recommend VIA for a nice night out on a special occasion! read more

I went to Via for a late lunch of about 20 coworkers to celebrate the new year. It was around 3 on a Tuesday afternoon. Staff were available, we'd made a reservation, but no one had a great meal. Went here for a office team lunch and the staff was really helpful and hospitable. 5 stars for the staff and attentive service. Even when they were nearly full they did their checks on us in a timely fashion. Pork Balls: was too sweet and I would miss that. It was a hit esp when they were still crispy even after around 30 mins. I had the steak with Potatoes and Spinach: I wouldn't lie, I wanted this mostly for the potatoes and spinach( am aware I was mainly paying for the steak ). Both the potatoes and the spinach was really great. The steak was perfectly medium rare with a lil bit of crisp on the surface however it didn't melt right away. The flavour was there however maybe the steak could have been a little bit better. Nevertheless 3.5* and still would order them or suggest. The creme brûlée : 2*. I am a creme brûlée addict and any variation you throw at me I'll gobble it up. I was apprehensive of my Creme Brûlée having cinnamon dust yet I did taste it. The cinnamon didn't come over that much however the body was really dense. Felt like it stayed on the water bath/heat for a longer time. Affogato: 5* . Yes, it was truely awesome as the vanilla ice cream felt it was made in house with real vanilla beans. It felt really creamy and fresh and not overly sweet. I would just order the vanilla ice cream and still be content. Even the espresso was perfect to compliment it. The dinner menu looked yummy and will be back soon for dinner. read more

One of our favorite restaurants. The food is great the atmosphere is great and the service is great. My only complaint is when they take favorite items off the menu. Our absolute favorite appetizer is the Fonduta of Italian Cheeses. The most delicious thing ever. And they took it off the menu and replaced it with a fondue, which was just ok.
