This is an OK co-op type of gallery, but could be better. Upon arrival I was not greeted in the…read morefriendliest manner, an older woman walked up and said "your not from here are you?" It would have been much nicer to say something like "hi, welcome to our gallery, have you been here before? Is there anything that you are looking for or if there is anything I can help you with let me know." The art here is OK, there are a few artists that have some accomplished talent, notably in scratchboard and a couple watercolorists, but there are many that are not ready to be showing their work. There is some art supply, so if you are in the area painting and run out of something you might find it there. Overall, Salmon is not a destination for art, which is too bad, it is a beautiful area and there are some incredible scenes screaming to be painted!!!

I soon realized that I was in over my head and Celeste Graham came to my rescue. Told me to come back the following day and pick it up. When I went to get it, it was beautifully, artfully done (far better than I had imagined!) and, because it was for a benefit, she would accept no money for her time and labor. I will never again go anywhere else! What a generous woman to help a perfect stranger and do such a beautiful job.

The people who work here are wonderful- so friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of…read morepatterns and fabrics. Lovely kits if you don't want to do the thinking/planning. I have been to many quilt stores and this store is by far one of my favorites. Quilters who are trying to limit fabric purchases or who are on a fabric diet should not come here if they have waivering willpower. I never leave without acquiring more treasure! I always find something that I need in this store. I have never been able to take a class here but have been in the store when classes have been in process. Looks like everyone is having a great time and creating projects they can be proud of.

When I was in college, I was too poor to shop here. So, while on vacation this week I made it my…read moremission to shop at Rediscoveries and drop some cash. It's better than I remember it. I pulled out a 50's novelty border print poodle skirt that I have been drooling over on ebay for ages and immediately felt like the happiest vintage hunting lady ever when I saw it was only $50. The selection of sizes and decades is impressive. Most of the pieces are in pristine condition. And don't get me started on the fabric! Novelty cottons and rayons galore! I ended up with a yard of vintage unicorn fabric. UNICORNS!!!!!!!!! Prices are reasonable on fabric too. But don't expect to get a deal. I also got a great deal on a beautiful 50s dress that had a little damage. The owner even gave me some wonderful suggestions for ways I could alter it around the damage and make it even more fabulous. There are also lots of antiques, jewelry, purses and BARBIES! I love ogling at the dolls. There are some deals at Rediscoveries. Definitely worth checking out. Brian is well versed and really knows his vintage.

There was not a ton of merchandise, but somehow we found everything we needed. Apparently, if you're buying regular priced items, there is almost always a coupon in the flier located at the mall entrance to the store. The fabric cutting employee that helped us seemed rather tough skinned and was actually annoying my designer. However, after making her cut 76+ feet of fabric we all got along famously. I'd recommend this store if you're not looking for anything too crazy and are going shopping at an off hour or weekday.
