Dr. Barr is a very good caring vet. He Has saved her life numerous times. I wouldn't trust any other with my babies life. It's up to you to ask questions and get them the attention they need. Thank you and your wonderful staff for all the hard work and the many hours you put in. read more

Left my dog didnt sign consent to leave her. She is there alone now no one is there. We had a death in our family. And called the emergency line to get her back. The girl on the emergency line is the rudest girl I've ever talked to. Ahe hung up on me and my wife. She did not even try to understand why we needed my pet back. Her name on the voicemail is Alex Barr. I assume this is probably his daughter. So now waiting on a friend that knows her dad to try to get a gold of him so I can go to my hometown where my mother just died. Now Alex Barr will not answer the phone after she hung up on me. read more

HORRIBLE!!!! Just called them and tried to get an emergency appointment as I have a new puppy that has been crying because he has pain in his ears. They told me I couldn't come in because the vet only takes emergency appointments for existing clients and I'm new!!! Way to ensure you will NEVER have me or any of my animals as clients!!! read more

I adopted a mini dachshund rescue pup and needed a vet bc it was very obvious she was in poor health. I got an appt immediately after telling them what was going on w her and Dr. Barr fixed her up right away. She had worms and was malnourished and dehydrated. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and he genuinely cared about Luna and how I felt about becoming a dog parent for the first time. A few weeks later I got another mini dachshund puppy and he jumped out of my lap and I thought he broke his arm. Dr Barr saw us right away to get Dexter taken care of. He genuinely cares about these animals but also about their owners and that means the world to me. I have since moved further away from the beach but I will never change doctors for my dogs. His employees are just as caring as he is and are extremely helpful. This is a wonderful office that I recommend to everyone. read more

Vets Pets - Veterinarians Near Me - Panama City Beach, Florida

I am temporary in this area and have been to this vet three times. I have three dogs. My dogs haven't had any major illnesses so I can't speak to that. I've been only for vaccinations and small things like that. The Dr. was very pleasant. My issue is with the schedule. My first visit, I waited over an hour to see the DR. even though it was first thing in the morning and I had an appointment. It wasn't an urgent situation and they knew that before my appointment so I would have preferred they schedule me when they could see me on time. That appointment, with wait and service, it took about 3 hours for them to see my three dogs and give them vaccinations and nail trims. That felt very excessive. There was no issue with the second appointment. Today, I called in advance asking if there was someone available for a nail trim. They told me to bring her by after one but when I got there said it would be at least a 30 minute wait (I had already been waiting for 10 minutes to be acknowledged). I didn't have the time to wait and my dog doesn't do well in the car. So, it was an inconvenience. I also agree with a previous reviewer that the office stinks. It needs a deep cleaning. The Dr. is nice and they obviously have a lot of business. They just need to develop some respect for their patrons' time. read more

Dr. Barr took on the care of my pet injured by another vet, he took on the care of the pet where the other vet stopped treatment. Had Dr. Barr not taken on the pets care and continued treatment it would have likely lost the injured area. I can't recommend him any higher then 5 stars or I would. Staff is great too! read more

Our Scotty stepped on something while we were at Dog Beach. Her paw became swollen. I called Vet Pets and even though they were booked, the receptionist said to bring our fur baby. The Vet found the puncture, cleaned her paw, and got her meds. We are very pleased and impressed. They close at 5:00pm but actually stayed little late to finish up with our girl. Very thankful to Vet Pets read more

Vets Pets and Dr. Barr are highly recommended 5 stars! He has taken care of our Pekingese and our cat for over 3 years now. Broken tail, infections, illness, injuries all healed perfectly with his knowledge and caring hands! He treats our animals like his own. I can't say enough how we appreciate Dr. Barr and his staff! I'm a local and believe he's the best vet in the panhandle. Prices are reasonable and service is great! I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else! Our cat and dog love him and we do too! read more

Dr. Barr is the best bet I have ever met. He has always treated my dog with love and like it was his dog. He knows my dog is my family and treats him as such. He performed surgery on my dogs him when no other vet would and now my dog has full use of both back legs. He is always available during emergencies which happen a lot with my sickly dog. He also diagnosed my dog with IBD when auburn university couldn't even figure out what was wrong with my dog. At this moment he is currently saving my dog again after a bout of pancreatitis. I will forever love this vet and am grateful to have found him. read more

Oh Vets Pets... How I miss you. =( The service here is wonderful. The Doctors care and so does the staff. You really can't beat the prices either. I've done my share of animal rescuing and I always took these assorted babies here and we've always been VERY pleased. They kept one sick pup over night, ran lots of tests, treated for parasites, and did everything needed to get her as healthy as can be. I paid a whopping $86! I'm in love with you Vets Pets! Alas... I recently moved to San Diego CA, and the vet selection here has made me and my pups very very sad indeed. =( read more

I took my 10 week old Great Dane Puppy here because Dr Barr came highly recommended, to have stitches removed from her ears. He was very nice and although I had a 430 appt, I was not seen until 6. I didn't mind because I was told he was great with Great Danes. Turns out, he didn't remove most of her stitches but posted the ears, so I had no idea. I took her to another vet, that was closer and they just posted her ears as well, and still left the stitches in. My dog has had stitches for 4 weeks, all healed over. Who does that? I'm disgusted. read more

I bring my two dogs and cat here. I can honestly say I do not have any complaints at all. They do a great job! My dogs willingly get in the car to go see Dr. Barr and go to the vet. I agree with Sierra B. The prices are reasonable staff is great. Overall a great Vet, I would highly recommend Dr.Barr and Vets Pets to anyone looking for a Vet in the area. read more

We love Dr.Barr!! He saved my sweet Maggie when she was on the brink of death. We don't trust anyone else besides Dr.Barr with our fur babies read more

I gave the last 6 years of my life to rehabilitating animals and giving them proper care. I've been to a lot of different vets across the country and with that being said DR. Barr is the absolute most unprofessional veterinarian I have ever encountered. My dog was injured by a third party and I took her in. He didn't get any vitals, he gave her antibiotics for infection and 2 shots and said he would write a summary so I can pursue the animal abuser who hurt my pet, in 2 days. It's been almost 2 weeks I've called every 2-3 days and he said he'd call me but since he already received payment he doesn't feel the need to complete my summary therefore leaving this abuser ACTIVE IN THE ANIMAL COMMUNITY. Despite my calls, my pleas and his promise. If you want a professional vet go anywhere else in all my experience I've never been more disappointed in a veterinarian. read more

Dr. Barr is the sweetest, kindest, most gentle soul ever. We had to put our dog to sleep because she was hit by a car. I'm so thankful he is the one I chose to take her to. Office is small and sometimes busy but that's nothing compared to the doctor that works there. Absolutely amazing. I'm taking my other dogs to him from now on. read more

Dr. Barr is great. He is caring, compassionate and a great Doctor. Great service at a very fair price. Thanks!

The vet here is amazing but his staff is SUPER RUDE. Everytime I call I'm on hold forever, they are very condescending, and flat out mean at times. I've been laughed at before. I've been waiting in the office and we could all hear the two desk ladies talking about each other/their coworkers. Just recently on a visit I overhead the desk girl Kim being very rude to a patient on the phone. I loathe having to deal with them but Dr. Barr is the best vet in the area. I only wish his staff was as professional as he was. Shame on them. read more

It is only a 1 because of Dr Barr. Dr Barr is an ok Dr, not great, but his staff needs to be taught some manners. They deserve a negative score. They are over the line rude and not professional at all. read more

Horrible horrible experience!!! Stinks so bad in there you can barely breath. My cat was so upset when I got him back. They kept him all day and didn't do a thing to him, I was taken advantage of!! If you go the smell will remind of how bad it is! I'm sorry I hate to be so mean, I've had animals all my life and have never run into a place this bad. Hopping to save your animal from the stress. read more

Place smells soooo bad. It's a very dirty hospital. Took my senior dog in for a herniated disc but he has really bad anxiety, I'm not sure what happened, maybe he moved too much, nipped because he was in so much distress and the laser hit his eyes??? ( our other dog had the same treatment done at a different facility but had to wear goggles, this place never used goggles during the laser treatment) After staying for 2 nights, our dog came back different...he's almost completely blind, we can only think it could be from the laser used on his back or maybe he had a stroke from the stress but now he can't see to walk and bumps into everything. After the stay, I picked up our dog with a soiled blanket I had dropped off with him so he could have a sense of home... our boy would never mess unless he had to wait several hours to be let out....At our follow up appointment we notice mouse feces in the examination room and didn't say anything but the next appointment about 2 weeks later my husband saw a mouse come out of the wall along with even more feces in the room... when we told the doctor, he said a customer had misplaced her pet mouse, not a very clever cover up.... if your facility is that dirty and infested in broad day light I can only imagine what the poor animals stay in during their treatments. read more

The best!! Dr. Barr and staff care. I will never take my dogs anywhere but to Dr. Barr. It's not all about money, he genuinely cares about your pet! The staff are great and my dogs don't mind going there! read more

Never again!!! Appointment time doesn't matter for them! We had to wait one hour!!! Rude Staff!!! They haven't tried to call or tell you on beginning that it will be extra hour to wait!!! Not coming back!!!!! read more

Old building, uncomfortable waiting area, appointments always run late, BUT Dr. Barr is one of those people that has a special way with animals. My dogs don't shake and continually try to escape when I have to wait, wait, wait in the uncomfortable waiting area. He doesn't ever push a bunch of unnecessary procedures or treatments and he has been able to provide effective (and inexpensive) treatment for issues that other vets gave up trying to diagnosis. I feel like he dramatically improved the quality of my dogs life and I often hear similar stories from others that are wait, wait, waiting in the uncomfortable waiting area. I got to give the place 4 stars. read more

Great! They are so compassionate and genuinely concerned for your pets health. They are a very popular office so occasionally you might spend more time at the vet than you would've wanted but it's because Dr Barr is providing the care our pets deserve and answering the questions of concerned pet owners. I love knowing that if my pet gets sick I can ask questions and he will answer them, truthfully and gently, so I am willing to wait a little bit for other pet owners to have their questions answered. They're good at recognizing emergencies and triaging accordingly. I took in one of my dogs late in the evening, who ripped off her toe nail, they kept her that night and I picked her up the next morning. Told them my other dog was having breathing problems and they told me they'd make time to see him at 7:30 the very next morning, which is incredible considering how booked they always are. My pets have been going to him for years and I wouldn't trust anyone else with them. read more

This is the most caring vet around. Yes, the waiting area is not plush and there is always a wait, but the service is excellent and the care that your animals are shown is exceptional. Because the waiting room is sparse, the prices are also lower than other larger offices. There is a wait, BECAUSE he is a sought after vet. As animal lovers, our pets are our children, and well worth the wait to be seen and treated by Dr. Barr. We cannot say enough; just too many great words to describe our having found him upon moving to Panama City Beach. read more

I am not from the area and went to get a health certificate for my Morkie pup. I asked the doctor, Gerri Barr, to fill out a form and he said I needed to come back in 3 hours to have time to fill it out. When I returned it was filled out improperly and his attitude was horrible. He proceeded to tell me he was not answering any of my questions because I had already asked 3. I will never go back even if it saves money because his behavior was so ridiculous. Do not give hime your money and do NOT go here!!! There are better vets in the area worth your time and money. read more

please if you love your pet never never go to this vet. they were so cruel to my cat and she is now dead. they spayed her and the stitches looked like a jig saw puzzle. it became infected immediately . also when i dropped her off she wieghed about 6 pounds and after they were finished she wieghed about 3 pounds. they postponed the procedure for 5 days keeping her there and very apparently never fed her. these people are horrible. read more

I wasn't going to write a review but after calling there the other day and was immediately put on hold and they never came back I hung up. That for sure ended any further business and ended up going to a clean non stinky place down the street. Went to this place the first time with my 2 cats 2 years ago, sat and waited forever after my appointment scheduled time, well what else is new right? Went again last year sat 1 hour and 10 minutes past my appointment scheduled time, needless to say the my cats were freaked out as 8 or 10 dogs came and went somehow before me. Finally went into room, not a weight in, a teeth check,a ear check, nothing! 2 shots and out the door! Get em in and get em out and can't even do that right! Never again, over booked and poor quality and only slightly cheaper than a real vet. But you know what can happen when you go cheap! No more for my babies! Also not to mention the smell will make your complexion a bit whiter as you bask in it while waiting, be prepared to go home and change your cloths, you know from that right away you're not in a quality place. read more
