It represents the life work of one man (the current owner's brother) who developed an interest in the Titanic as a teenager and started writing to the survivors. The collection is of the ship (with White Star Line china, banners, documentation of the discovery) as much as it is about the survivors (with items from the journal one woman had with her in the lifeboat to one woman's frog) and pop culture (the man was was a background character in THE movie). It is $4 to see the collection, but if you're interested in the Titanic or just want to see what a life's work can look like, it's a once in a lifetime experience.

It's time for an update!…read more I want to start by saying if you have yet to come what are you waiting for?! But in all seriousness we have done a lot up here since I put the farm on the map. Lets start with our new kitchen! We have built a beautiful kitchen which has helped serve some delicious burgers, hotdogs, chicken tenders, fries & grilled cheese for you to munch on. While waiting for your order you can walk to the other side of the building to grab a craft beer from Fieldcrest Brewing Company. We do not yet sell ice cream but the plan is to have it in 2023! We do sell cider donuts and s'mores in our country store to help with that sugar craving. We have a stage for our live music! Starting mid July we start our summer concert series which has been a huge hit with the community. I personally love seeing our field covered with lawn chairs and smiles every weekend. We provide lots of games for the kids such as sport balls, tumbling towers, and disc golf while you are enjoying the tunes of your favorite musicians! And when you need a break you can take a tractor ride around the farm! During the week we have provide sunset yoga as well as farmers markets! What better way to enjoy the views than supporting your local community vendors and or taking in some relaxing yoga with friends and family. We still have all your favorite apples for picking AND we planted 250 more trees with plans this fall to plant even more! This will help us prolong our season to Columbus Day Weekend a few years from now. Please do not climb on the trees. We do provide apple pickers for those hard to reach apples. Any broken branches could increase the risk of disease and or kill the tree. The farm has now also turned into a venue for events! We have had a few weddings now this year, including Dan and his new wife Brooke! So if you are looking for a wedding venue why not here! Please scroll through the many pictures to see some of their pictures for a visual. Some things you may notice when coming up, we no longer have the pumpkin patch and the cows have been sold. We have butchered two of the cows so if you are looking for some grass fed beef just find Dan or myself and we'll let you know what we have. A couple reminders: Please drive slow. This helps keep the dust at a minimal, our neighbors will appreciate it, and with all the children running around we want to keep everyone safe. We do not allow outside food and alcohol beverages. Please leave your coolers at home. We are a pet friendly farm! Please pick up after your furry friends after they do their business. This is a farm so you will come across bees also enjoying the apple. Look before you step when picking apples. Could easily step on a fallen apple and roll an ankle. We do encourage exploration! The view from the upper hill is amazing and we recommend taking a walk to enjoy the scenery. And without saying please pick up after yourself, a clean farm is a happy farm. Here in Center Hill Park, you will find a bronze statue of a Quarryman; honoring East Longmeadow's 19th century heritage as a quarrying center for red sandstone. Back in the day, there were over 50 working stone quarries in the area It's quite a statue; a serious looking guy with a floppy hat and floppy mustache is wearing bib overalls and holding a massive sledge hammer. He's standing on a big slab of red sandstone. There are more blocks of sandstone all around him. A plaque near the statue reads: THE QUARRYMAN Saluting the industry of our Founding Fathers here in the East Village who quarried red and brown sandstone from over fifty quarries during the 1800's. Their work remains enshrined in noted buildings across the land. This sculpture by Gregory Stone is a gift to the Town of East Longmeadow on the Celebration of its Centennial by L. James and Janet K. McKnight Dedicated July 3, 1994

The folks here at Hubbard Memorial Library are really great!…read moreThey had a giveaway going on where if you listed 10 of your favorite books they'd give you a book from their reserved area for free. My brother was able to take advantage of that being a local. We got to talking with the librarian there and found out a lot of history with regards to the Hubbard building. Also got some insight as to who Mr. Charles Townsend Hubbard was. I was curious seeing as there was a large portrait of him hanging on the 1st floor all dressed up in the early 1900's gentleman's attire. I love how all these libraries in town are so well synchronized with one another. It's a great place to sign up for things. I took a picture of an event happening where a master baker is going to show people (for free) how to make your own bread starter. There's also lots of other things like learning how to knit, crochet, I even saw something about painting. These are things where if you live in the area, you can totally take advantage of. Definitely recommend checking out this library.

They have a good selection of books for it being a smaller library. I especially appreciated how they had certain books standing out front and center so you could readily pick them up. Both of my book selections were like this, and they were really great reads. If there's a book you're looking for and they don't have it, ask and they'll order it for you. Cozy, comfortable, quiet, and inviting, everything you want in a library.

However, we went at the end of September, and the place was horribly overrun with wasps. They're literally everywhere. It made it hard to sit and want to enjoy your drink. It wasn't a bad visit, but I would probably try other places prior to suggesting coming back here.
