I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Chuck Toben. I just wish every vet treated my dog the way…read morehe does. My dog is geriatric, medically complex, previously abused and used to hate but is now just pretty avoidant of most men. Within the first couple of visits my dog leaned on Dr. Toben's legs while my dog was feeling weak....I was absolutely floored. Dr. Toben has gone out of his way to help my dog, last minute, over the phone, with appointments, and has been just so insightful and helpful in a way so many other vets cannot do. Most primary care vets get super overwhelmed w/ my dog's health problems, as a lot of my dog's health issues have unknown causes. I went to see many primary care docs in the valley who I really could not trust w/ my dog, or tolerate myself (over 5). Dr. Toben has never even once snapped at me or my dog, gotten overwhelmed (in a way that was even remotely perceivable anyway), has never tried to nickle & dime me, and most importantly, has never given up on my dog. I just cannot place a value on Chuck's honest approach to animal care and kindness towards my dog and me. Chuck will keep trying, trying different things, is always open to suggestions, knows when to sort of make firmer recommendations and take control and when to give space for feedback. He's crazy smart, he knows about so many of my dog's issues in a way that usually only internal med docs seem to be able to discuss, and he is consistently genuinely compassionate and humane. Dr. Toben is just basically a freaking giant brained angel. My only regret is that I'm not loaded so I can't make a massive donation to this clinic. This is exactly what I think all vets should be like, I of course have been really very picky and have a dog w/ a very difficult medical status, and I definitely 1,000% recommend him. Chuck is the first doc I've strongly recommended, by the way, after seeing 2 primaries in MO, 5 specialists in MO, 2 docs in Mexico, 3 internal med docs in AZ, and more than 5 primary care vets in AZ....again, my dog is a very difficult medical case, and Dr. Toben is absolutely the doc for the hardest cases....and thank God that there are vets out there like Chuck who are so good for our poor beloved pets who were previously abused b/c these animals are so sorely in need of kindness and quality care. I'm eternally grateful for this clinic and Dr. Toben.

Dr. Tobin took the time to answer all my questions and gave excellent care advice. The communication in that office is excellent. Saying goodbye to our beloved cat (Samba) after 15 years was incredibly painful, but your gentle care, patience, and understanding made all the difference. You treated not only our pet with dignity and tenderness, but also supported us with such empathy and respect. We will always remember how you helped make a heartbreaking experience feel peaceful and full of love. Thank you for everything you do Dr Julie and Vet Tech Brie for the animals you care for and the people who love them. Your work truly matters, and we are so grateful.

I found Angel Veterinary Services through a Google search when researching options for my elderly…read moredog and how to determine his overall quality of life. Their website provided all information necessary for making an informed decision for at-home euthanasia, including clear pricing options. Booking was easy, I filled out their online form and within about 15-minutes, I received a text offering additional assistance and the opportunity to book the service for my dog. They do take Care Credit which was a great help. Although I cancelled my first appointment due to my uncertainty that it was indeed time, I was able to reschedule also through text. The doctor, Dr. Frost, gave me a call when she was on her way and was very compassion both over the phone as well as upon arrival and throughout the process. While having my 15 year old dog euthanized was a tough and heartbreaking decision to make, I felt comfort knowing that not only was my dog going through this process in the comfort of his own home, but also by a team who truly cared. I would highly recommend Angel Veterinary Services to others making the same difficult decision, especially for the comfort provided throughout the process.

I had an extremely upsetting experience at this animal hospital and would not recommend it to…read moreanyone. My dog came in after being bitten and was having a serious allergic reaction with hives. We had already given him Benadryl before arriving. The staff told us they were going to administer a steroid injection, which we agreed to and believed had been done. Later, we found out that no steroid was given at all. Instead, they gave my dog another shot of Benadryl--something he had already received--while acting as if it was the steroid they said he needed. Because his condition didn't improve, we had to rush him to another clinic, where he was immediately given the steroid shot that actually helped him. Beyond the medical issue, the staff was rude, dismissive, and lacked compassion. They acted as though they cared about my pet, but their actions proved otherwise. This felt careless and misleading, and it put my dog at risk. Now I'm stuck disputing the charge with my bank for services that were either misrepresented or not properly provided. Please think twice before bringing your pet here. When it comes to your animal's health and safety, honesty and proper care matter--and that was not my experience at this clinic.

I utterly despise 43rd Ave Animal Hospital. While the vet techs are polite and kind, the doctors…read moreare nothing short of ruthless predators. They wear sweet smiles as a mask to manipulate and guilt you into accepting exorbitant, overpriced procedures. My chihuahua had a large tumor that needed removal, and they slapped me with a $10,000 price tag--an amount completely out of reach. Not only did they fail to offer any reasonable or affordable alternatives, they pressured me to take financing at an outrageous 26% interest rate. It was clear from the start that neither my pet's well-being nor my financial reality mattered to them. In the end, they pushed me into buying end-of-life medications, essentially selling me a slow, painful goodbye disguised as "peace." It's a cruel business disguised as care. Thanks to a friend's referral, I found a surgical vet who removed the tumor for $1,100--and now my dog is healthier and happier than ever. 43rd Ave Animal Hospital may have a polished façade, but it's infested with doctors who are more interested in lining their pockets than saving lives. If you're looking for superficial care and don't mind being exploited, maybe they'll work for you. But if you want real compassion and respect for your pet and your wallet, run far, far away.

She then recommended I see a specialist in Scottsdale. After leaving I made that appt w the specialist but couldn't get in for a month. Ever since my vet was purchased by Lovet the pricing is insane as is the fear mongering. Now knowing Lovet is owned by Aspen Dental tells me all I need to know about their price gouging. I will never return to this Lovet.
