It's one of the guilty…read morepleasure American dining concepts worth importing and Dip & Flip is a great place to discover it Wimbledon Broadway's increasingly varied and interesting culinary offerings has been boosted by Dip & Flip's second location. They are entering quite a competitive market but from my dining experience, they are a welcome addition and should be here to stay Most customers will be drawn to Flip part of the menu with cooked to order delicious looking and smelling burgers. Certainly looked a lot more promising than the disappointing Five Guys a few doors down and cheaper to boot However, I was here for the rare-to-find-in-Britain French dip sandwich. The choice in the Dip part of the menu was roast beef or lamb, served with their appropriate accompaniments. For those unfamiliar with French dip, imagine slices of meat dipped in gravy in a brioche bun, served with more gravy in a bowl on the side. The idea is to saturate each meaty bready mouthful by dipping it into the gravy, a heavenly experience I discovered in the States The D&F sandwich was filled with excellent roast lamb but I did struggle to dip it effectively. It was generously overfilled and the next time, I shall push the meat in more fully into the sandwich before dipping. The bun held up well but I found myself making a bit of a mess on the tray. French dip is messy eating but perhaps not this messy! Kitchen towel is provided on the table as well as a clean up wet wipe. Engineering constructs aside, it was an excellent tasting meal though I'd probably omit the pickle and tone down the amount of mint sauce next time but that's just my palate Fries are interesting here. They're available plain with Australian seasoning, with squeezy American cheese or 'poutine' style with mozzarella cheese (not strictly poutine with no cheese curds) and grab or with added chilli too. I'm a huge fan of poutine, so the choice was easy. It was a slow night in the restaurant and their gravy wasn't piping hot, so my poutine, while nice, wasn't the melty cheesy gooey mess that it could be. To be fair, they took my comments on board and I shall be back Lastly, I had an excellent proper milkshake - the 330mls is enough. Alcohol is available at this sit down venue An excellent addition to the Wimbledon dining scene. I shall be back to try the more traditional beef French dip and with a few tweaks, 5 stars is on the cards. I'm excited!

The simple, delicious beauty of the hamburger has not been forgotten by Gourmet Burger Kitchen, where several wicked and exotic types of hamburger can be eaten over a glass of good wine or beer and a plate of garlicky olives. The only question you'll raise at Gourmet Burger Kitchen is not why you are there, but how you are going to eat the massive burger that has just arrived in front of you. I prefer the grab-and-send-to-bottomless-pit method, but depending on your company you might just prefer to use a knife and fork. Their bacon and avo burger is scrumptious, but if you're not adventurous, so is their cheese burger. You must try Gourmet Burger Kitchen, and the sizeable Wimbledon branch is a great start.

What really intrigued me about the description of this place was that they offered all of what I like in a burger spot: burgers, fries/onion rings and shakes. They have a great menu of burger offerings with different toppings/flavors. I had the Truffle Shuffle and I was not disappointed...really good quality beef and made decadent by the richness of the bun, truffle and swiss cheese. The onion rings were good too. The milkshake was very good - I had the Chocolate Snickers Shake and I was not disappointed...it was rich, thick, creamy and not too sweet. There were some issues with the staff during our visit, but management accommodated us and really provided an experience that we'd come back to. Management did a great job of making us feel like customer service was very important to them. Their menu is great since they have turkey bacon instead of pork bacon, which is difficult to find in most burger spots. I'd definitely recommend this spot...I'm going back on my next trip over the pond!

The girlfriend and I were looking for a quick meal last Sunday and so, we popped in to try it out The USP at Five Guys is the marketer's tag line of as many 'free' toppings as you want. The basic burger is £8 with cheese and bacon (the crispy American version) costing more I was happy to see a suggested combo of toppings called All the Way, turning the basic burger into something akin to a Big Mac in flavour, I noted. Otherwise, I might been overwhelmed by choice. We went for that with a couple of little twists. It's fun to be able to watch your burger being created if you're a bit of a food nerd at the pick up station The decor is bright and cheerful and you can enjoy unlimited free peanuts while you wait for your food. The soda is sold in a free (yes, it's that word again!) refill manner and they have a magic machine which dispenses about 100 varieties apparently The burger was a generous size though the flavour was similar to the aforementioned Big Mac but the beef patty was certainly juicy and better quality. I saw a review on the wall praising their burger buns but it sadly didn't apply to my bun, which swiftly disintegrated within 2 bites. Eating the burger was a very messy affair and I was grateful for the availability of extra napkins The skin on fries were a soggy disappointment but I liked the optional Cajun seasoning. You can ask for the seasoning on the side This place has certainly not converted me to burgers. Patty and Bun remains my favourite in London

When you eat in your meal comes in metal dishes with logo under your burger and chips! What I love about this place is the menu is simple, the ingredients are not so simple but mainly you chose what kind of burger ie chicken, beef then you can stop there or add other ingredients and then you can get fries which are not like your normal fries as they are freshly made and taste amazing as there's different toppings, then to top it off you could have a milkshake or an alcoholic milkshake! There are much more items on the menu as they have a brunch menu and dessert! But if your getting a takeaway they are nice enough to let you sit down drink some cold water and enjoy freshly made popcorn! So the beef burger is my favourite as the buns are nice and soft, the burger is a good thick portion which is very juicy - I'm starting to think they must steam the burger as when you bite into it it is just clear meat juice! The sweet potatoe fries are the best and I like to top it all off with a Reece's peanut butter milkshake which is so yummy you can drink the whole thing too quickly but the best bits is the chocolate at the bottom which I grab a spoon and enjoy the scrapings at the bottom of my milkshake!
