Don't go to this place!!!!! It is NOT a museum at all. Just a general store selling yard sale style items and over priced. Unfortunately when I stopped here I was unaware of the store at the top of the mountain that sold similar items and cheaper. Only go here if you're looking for flat out junk. The only "Museum" style item is attached with my review. Which is the different colors and taste of syrup . The eldery woman cashier is absolutely rude to tourists. She follows potential customers in the store as if they are shoplifting. However it's advertised as a museum. Then why isn't she more entertaining and nicer to people? read more

We stopped in because this looked like a family-friendly tourist trap, but the clerk (same aforementioned elderly lady) was rude and informed us we'd need to change our baby outside on the pavement (next to a very busy road) or in a port-a-potty around the corner. Needless to say, we did not buy the pricey maple syrup and tchotchkes we'd planned to since she had no interest in being helpful or kind. read more

Not really a museum. Maybe during high season? Decent selection of chachkis, and of course, maple syrup.

We found a variety of maple syrups, patches that say Vermont, maple candy, something for everyone. Phyllis was very nice lady who has Scottish terriors. Funny and lots of character. read more

The experience here was absolutely awful... Walked into the store thinking it looked like a nice place to stop in Vermont and get some souvenirs for the family! As soon as I stepped in the owner was yelling at me to remove a mouse from the merchandise. When I checked out she charged me $20 extra, and then when she was trying to refund it she charged another $20. I left her responsible to sort the issue out. One week later my account showed three charges for an extra $50 and she claimed she had nothing to do with this and would not help! I would never set foot in this store again and would hope that all others see this as a warning!!!!! read more

This was a horrible experience. The elderly lady working was very rude, and was very confrontational when I corrected her to the amount of maple syrup I was purchasing. She had to count it out loud to prove I was the one who was unable to count. She was wrong. I inquired about a restroom and was given a long story of a septic and then became very condescending asking if I knew what one was. I replied yes and said when you have a cistern and haul water we could chat. A simple no I'm sorry I don't would have sufficed. Then to top it all off she accused my mother of stealing her pen. I would have asked for a refund but I did not trust her skills to credit my account properly. From reading the other review I am glad I didn't. Don't waste your hard earned money there. I support small businesses that is why I stopped there, and I regret it. read more

Not a museum, more like a collection of junk the old lady has collected over the years. We are from Florida and had no idea that Maple syrup was made in May (according to the old lady working there) and the place that the syrup actually comes from was closed during our visit (early November). Any question asked to her was very abruptly replied to, in a harsh way. We were also told about a septic problem when we asked about a restroom. She was nicer to my husband than to me, maybe she just doesn't like females. She didn't really like to be asked where the museum was either, lol. She was selling a couple types of syrup so we asked about tasting them so we would know what we were buying. She offered what she thought was the best one, told us we could open the smallest bottle to taste but warned we would be buying what we opened. We bought a couple of bottles and left. My idea of an old, unhappy, lonely woman. Would not return to her store. I believe she shouldn't be allowed to call her store a "maple museum," because it definitely is not. read more
