The humor starts as soon as you pulled onto the road the gallery was location - the "Not-A Rd" was hilarious! We had a great laugh going through each painting in the gallery and trying to figure out what was funny about each one. The owners were very nice people and offered to explain each painting if you can't get the humor in it! Definitely would recommend this place for anyone coming to VT.

The schoolhouse they have is a cool step back in time and the current temporary exhibit of "Uncanny Valley" was very intriguing. Last autumn, I fully enjoyed my Beginning Oil Painting class at Saratoga Arts. Lisa David was very…read moreattentive and the facility was comfortable and spacious. I was very excited to rejoin this year's class and continue my oil painting journey. This year, I had a very different experience. The class has twice as many students (12) and our classroom is half the size. Because we have so many students in so little space, navigating from the door to my seat was a challenge (we had two students set up right at the classroom door blocking the entrance). It was difficult to set up our equipment, learn, and paint. Lisa tried hard to answer all our questions and check our work; she was only able to give us a fraction of the attention I experienced from my class last year. During the class, Lisa even expressed her irritation at the large class size. After my complaint to Kristin Langevin, she gave me many excuses and is adamant that they did nothing wrong, but she was willing to change us to a larger room. Nevertheless, the class size is still too big for one teacher. It just takes too long for Lisa to go around the room and give us meaningful and impactful feedback. Under current management, their focus seems to be maximizing revenue not quality of the class and they are not very interested in listening to student's feedback. It is sad that Saratoga Arts does not appear to be interested in providing quality Art education to the Saratoga community anymore.

The one employee did not know anything about Frost, so it was all up to the signage. There is a small gift shop, but mostly all just books and nothing as far as souvenirs with the place name on them. The exhibit signs shine some information on Frost, his family, and his works. There is a live bee collection for unclear reasons. There is an old record player of his records that you can listen to and switch records, so that was cool. At least some of the furniture was original. I wouldn't say this takes longer than 20 minutes to walk through, so only do it if you're nearby or a diehard Frost fan. As a historic site, I'm glad it exists, but it is a bit minimal. An employee who had at least read the signs instead of just a college intern there for credit would do wonders to bringing Frost more to life.

They have a section of used books for a lower price along with a cafe. They even sell records. The cocktail hour was hosted in the lobby. It is a small space. There were tables with snacks along the middle and a small table set up in the back as a bar. There was not much room for tables so we had to stand along the side and use the window ledge to hold our drinks. The service was great. The cocktail servers did a great job at bringing out snacks and making sure every guest was taken care of! The only thing I found strange was that the "bar" did not serve water. We had to wait until the reception started to get a glass of water. The reception hall was beautiful. It is the perfect venue for a small wedding. If you are planning to have more than 100 people at your event, I think it will be too small. The tables were a little tight which made it difficult to get in and out BUT everything was beautiful. Again, this wedding was the perfect size for this venue. I will not comment on the food since I am certain it was catered by an outside company. Overall, we had a great experience at the wedding and the venue was beautiful. If we plan to have a small wedding, this is a place I would consider!

Coming from a guest, I cannot say how expensive this place is, but my friends had about 100 people in attendance to their October nuptials and this venue was fabulous. They had the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception here and it was a beautiful setting. It was very convenient for guests, parking was substantial and it was beautiful. There was an elegant and simple beauty to all parts of the celebration. There were enough bathrooms, even for the women. Though it was flat pouring rain outside, we were comfortable and happy inside. If I was having my wedding in Saratoga Springs in the Fall, I would definitely recommend The National Museum of Dance.

I am a Skidmore student, and we were asked to write an essay about a piece of art. Our class viewed…read morethe exhibit "Parallax: Framing the Cosmos." We were given a tour by the curator herself, Professor Greaves. The tour was very insightful, especially because we could hear the "museum-side" of the the process. I returned to the Tang weeks later to write my long essay, expanding on the same piece as earlier. I spoke with Ruth Thomas, who sat at the front desk. She was incredibly friendly. I ended up talking to her about my essay. She was so excited for me, and offered her help. I asked her questions about the exhibit, about Jack Shear (who donated 1,500 photographs from his collection to the Tang), and about her experience with the moon landing (as that was what I was writing about). My point? The staff are so kind. I did not see enough reviews that said this, so I was compelled to write one of my own. The Tang is a smaller teaching museum, but I believe that you get what you put into art exhibits (not financially, but emotionally). So, come to the Tang if you are looking to experience art, and are willing to connect with the art.
