I am writing this so people visiting know what to expect. I have loved other RF properties so expected a lot here. Big key down. On the surface place, lovely pool area, nice restaurants, nice little beach. If you are used to real luxury, you probably will not find that here. Very difficult to get things we needed - espresso maker in the room asking for it to be fixed or replaced (twice) and then broken machine left sitting there, bathroom only partially clean with dirty towels left on the floor regularly, things like that. They also have an ant problem and there were ants in the room in many places and it's just nothing you can do about it. The people are warm and nice, I mean well, but there is just no sense of urgency with service here. The beach area is nice and a good place to relax, but there is no service whatsoever. The pool there is really no service either - kind of had to beg for it and flag it down and even then only once got a drink. When I did I felt like I was bothering them. We had a grand suite and that was fine, I would recommend that kind of accommodation because it's very private and spacious. But the outside area had ants everywhere and we could not sit out there and relax. The bathroom also had ants and same with the living area. Bikes around that you can use anytime you want to and if you are close enough you can basically walk to everything as well. The breakfast is nice but gets old after a day or two. The coffee and cappuccino was great there though and I enjoyed that. The other restaurants were closed half the time when they were supposed to be open. We had a good wood fired pizza but went back again and it was inexplicably closed at 7pm on a Friday. The spa ... definitely important for American people to understand the spa experience for a massage is different. They require you to wear throwaway underwear, but the massage was totally invasive compared to what you would expect to be United States. Chest and stomach action that wouldn't happen elsewhere. I didn't complain because I get that I didn't know what to expect and I can hang with it. But other people would not be comfortable and you should know. My husband felt the same. Overall, decent place but like a 3 star "okay" place. Not what we paid for or are used to and would absolutely not come back. Also not need anything so to see any sites you will drive a lot. If the resort was amazing that would be one thing but it's not. I will say it's a beautiful location. But stay somewhere else if you can.

Beautiful 5 star resort in Sciacca near Agrigento. Don't let the Golf part dissuade you from staying at the resort if you are not a golfer. It's a large resort with something for everyone. I didn't use the golf facility but made full use of the other resort amenities. The pool was awesome, probably the size of a football field. I have never seen a hotel or resort pool this large. There is service by the pool so if you want a drink or snack someone will help you. The resort is huge and they have bikes all over the place for guests to use to travel around the resort or just ride on the bike paths. I took a ride one night to one of the restaurants a distance from the rooms. If you can't bike or walk it they do have golf cart service with a driver. Beautiful views from everywhere. Rooms are large and comfortable, ours had an outdoor deck facing the Mediterranean sea and mountains. What an amazing site. They also have a beach with white sand provided by the resort. Once you walk into the water it's a bit rocky but they have a floating dock you could walk to the end and take the ladder into the water where it's sandy again. The water is shallow so you have a lot of room to swim safely. They also have boats that you could rent or take a ride on a float. There are several restaurants on the premises. We had dinner at the restaurant on the beach one night but it was expensive and the fresh fish was overcooked and dry and had no seasoning. The restaurant I believe it's called Liola was excellent and had amazing views. You could have reasonable priced pastas and pizzas. Breakfast included in the stay was awesome. Something for everyone and they had an omlette station if you wanted your eggs cooked the way you like them. Another restaurant has live entertainment. They also have a spa. We used one part of the spa which had a water therapy feature. Includes 5 different pools with fountains and jets and different temperatures. The idea is to spend a certain amount of time at each pool in a certain order. Of course I found this out as I was leaving after a randomly going in and out of the pools. Didn't use the message facility or the relaxation room but you could easily spend a few hours here if you get the full treatment. The resort is expensive but worth it if you want to splurge and enjoy a real 5 star resort.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Verdura Resort, and I must say it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff is extremely well trained to make you feel welcomed and in serene. No bossing you around or telling you can't do this can't do that. Very friendly staff, super service all around, gorgeous room, amazing views, gorgeous golf course. Of course all the restaurants in the grounds are over priced, but that is to expect. If you are adventurer and have a vehicle I would recommend to check out the near by towns and restaurants for your meals. Overall, Great experience, from the moment you drive in to the property. read more

This comes about a year and a half late, but I wanted to provide a review of our outstanding honeymoon spent at Verdura in October of 2022. This resort is the ultimate escape. The property is beautiful and sprawling - easy and fun to explore with the inclusion of free bikes everywhere. My husband and I enjoyed riding the bikes around the winding trails across the property and using them to get from our room to the restaurants, bars, pool, and gym on property. The pool was beautiful, as was the beach. So many wonderful places to sit outside, relax, and enjoy the scenery. The gym was very large and well equipped. I do regret not taking advantage of the spa services as the entire spa/fitness complex was very serene. Service was outstanding. Ambiance was incredible. Rooms were luxurious (particularly the bathrooms!). The resort is so sprawling that no one part of it ever felt crowded. It truly felt like we had so much privacy. My only complaint is that food prices in the seafood restaurant were a little high for food that was just ok. But we thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant and patio in the main building, as well as a more casual dining option near the golf clubhouse. All in all, I wish we would have spent more of our honeymoon at Verdura. Our stay seemed far too short. Final thoughts - an excellent, romantic getaway for couples, but I suspect this place is also a family paradise in the summer months. There seems to be a lot of programming and activities for children. read more
BLUF: pricey, but overall outstanding service. We went to this resort for a special wedding event. The food was overall outstanding, including the included breakfast buffet which offers a wide variety of local delicacies and sweets. For breakfast don't pass up the almond granita, which is one of the tastiest things I had my entire trip to Sicily. The rooms are very spacious and the housekeeping is very attentive. I had to hiccups during our visit. One day at breakfast the waiter never did bring my order to the table. I just ate the buffet instead, which is very good but I ordered a particular dish for a reason. The other hiccup was in getting picked up from our room. We were the absolute furthest room from the main building and because I recently had a series injury I couldn't walk the entire way. Most days I would call and they would send a golf cart for me, but on two occasions when I called the promised golf cart never came. They have a very pretty and well kept private beach as well as what I am told by others is an outstanding golf course, but as I'm not a golfer, I never experienced that. read more

I really wanted to give this spot a high rating, but it is probably not a 5 star place. First of all, ants were all over. Like everywhere. I get that we are away from cities, but I should not see them on counters that have supposedly been cleaned. Housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. Cleaning is either very thorough or the bare minimum - towels restocked but dirty wash rags left in shower. They were inconsistent with restocking food items and drinks in our mini bar. All in all, it was just an okay stay, but this is definitely not a 5 star place. Maybe for Sicily. read more
This place was so very relaxing and nicely maintained premises. If you're a golf lover, spa lover, food lover and have some money to spend, this is the place for you. Prices are resort prices so definitely slightly higher compared to the rest of Sicily, but nothing too ridiculous. The fitness facilties are also really nice (a full gym). The resort is pretty spread out, so there's bikes places about the area for you to get around easily. The beach is a rocky beach, with some man-made sand. There's bar service here, which is a nice plus. We tried food at all the restaurants, and highly recommend the caprese salad - the tomatoes are EXCELLENT. The breakfast is also great with a omelette bar and lots of selections! Warning - there's no much to do around without a car/shuttle. read more

The Verdura Resort and Spa is a jewel of a resort, an oasis of taste and charm, nestled cozily along the coast of southern Sicily. The resort, including a substantial and well-tended golf course, is nicely secluded from the relative chaos of Sicilian driving and the endless ranks of charmless, buff colored, ferroconcrete blocks that grace an otherwise stunning landscape. For non-golfers, the resort is well located, about equidistant from the out-of-this-world majesty of Selinunte, a bastion of Greek and Carthaginian antiquity, the Doric glory of Segesta, and the mind boggling Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. First timers will be dumbstruck by the archeological riches this corner of the world has to offer. The resort itself, in addition to golf, features creditable spa facilities, and good dining options. The Zagara Mediterranean restaurant was just so-so, with comparatively indifferent service and decent, but not great, fare. Both Amare and Liola offer more relaxed, enjoyable dining options. Buon Giorno serves arguably one of the finest breakfasts of any resort I have visited. In addition to many egg dishes, the vegetable juicer, the succulent dried fruit buffet, assorted cereals, and the range of fresh fruit is a visit to health-heaven. The somewhat pricey rooms are large, clean, and well laid out. Housekeeping services were excellent and the unfailingly pleasant demeanor of hotel staff made us feel that we were more in Asia than Europe. We thoroughly enjoyed our five days there. We visited the resort with 4 other well-traveled and demanding couples, all of whom concurred that this destination is to be highly recommended. read more

Nice place to get away. The beach is rocky though like Nice. It's on the other side of Sicily so it's best to take the helicopter service to the hotel. This is one of the Rocco Forte collection. Rocco is the son of famed hotelier Sir Charles Forte, one time owner of THF Forte made his fortune by buying old hotels cheap and fixing them up. Fawty Towers may be a parody of Fortes empire. read more
