My husband and I had dinner at Verde a few weeks ago and had a really great time. We started with the polpette (beef, pork, and sage meatballs topped with tomato sauce and ricotta), which were very good. We also got two salads - the cavolo nero (kale, pine nuts, dried fruit, extra virgin olive oil, and fresh squeezed lemon) and the gorgonzola (spinach, apple, pistachios, gorgonzola, extra virgin olive oil, and balsamic glaze). The cavolo nero was my favorite - so tart from all the fresh lemon juice. I'd eat this salad again right now. Then we shared the cipolla pizza (carmalized onion, crescenza, homemade mozzarella, grana), which was great. We ate at Verde on a Tuesday, which meant all their wines over $50 were 50% off!!! We picked a bottle of red, which went great with our meal. The service was great, and the restaurant is casual and homey. Overall, we had a really great meal at Verde. read more

Here is what you KNEAD to know .... This place has so many pizza options and each person at our table got different ones and each were delicious! All their pizzas are baked in coal fire oven and all are thin crust, which personally I am not a fan of but it held together so nicely and it wasn't an overwhelming amount of toppings as some places put on. They also had a bottomless option for $18 which isn't a bad deal for 2.5 hours. Our waiter was great and attentive! He was engaging, didn't seem annoyed by us asking questions and came readily to refill our drinks before we had to ever ask! This place continues to serve the most delicious gluten free pizza I have ever had in my life. Nothing even comes close. My husband won't touch anything gluten free and he always demands a piece of my pizza from here. I swear it doesn't even taste gluten free and I don't know how they do it. Seriously, what do they use?! It even looks the same. I always get the Arrabiatta. It's an expensive pizza for sure. But it's always worth it. And I dream about it in between visits. We sat outside during our stay at patio furniture on the sidewalk on a nice mid 70s fall day. Inside seemed to be cozy and nicely setup for parties both large and small. Service: 5/5. Sitting outside has it's drawbacks as sometimes service "forgets" about you. This was not the case at Verde. We live down the street so we decided to try Verde on a nice evening and sat on the sidewalk. Service was excellent and they graciously took back a cocktail I ordered but didn't like. Growing up in NY, I was spoiled to have so many local, authentic pizza places. After moving to Baltimore, I was constantly disappointed with the lackluster pizza options-until finding Verde, which I have to admit has my now-favorite pizza of all time... I have yet to find a place on Arthur Ave, in Westchester, or even Manhattan that has the absolute attention to quality, detail, freshness, and flavor in every pie here. While the menu is admittedly pricey, the food, atmosphere, and events are exceptionally worth it. The sauce and mozzarella are made from scratch in-house, and it undoubtedly shows. Their spot-on Neapolitan style pizza has an absolutely exceptional textural contrast between the chewy, doughy, glutinous (although they do offer gluten free flour for an upcharge) base, and expertly charred crust that adds tremendous flavor. The pizza con burrata features their luscious sauce, some of the silkiest cheese you'll ever try, and incredibly aromatic basil. It was indescribably delicious, and the crust held up beautifully to the fresh sauce and cheese without the slightest sogginess. Perfection. Finally, the ambience. It's worth searching Canton for street parking, and getting your food fresh in-house instead of as takeout. Endearingly rustic exposed brick interior with mood lighting and warm, friendly service. One of the bartenders even gave my friend and I a complimentary first round of drinks the first time we came in. Oh, and they offer a Thursday date night special and special events! Interior downstairs is definitely romantic, along with the cozy bar, but with a brighter upstairs area that's more family friendly. And in nice weather, they offer outdoor seating on vintagey tables with string lights to set the mood. Truly a hidden gem of the city, and inarguably the best pizza in MD if not the entire northeast. Verde is a full service trattoria specializing in authentic Neapolitan pizza and other Italian specialties. Got a chance to stop in on a Thursday, so apparently they run a really nice date night special which is $ 60 dollar per couple( includes a shared appetizer, choice of two pizzas and a shared dessert). And for an additional $30 you can add a designated 2 glass pairing with each course. Me and date opted for the special with the wine parings of course. Such a great deal by the way, I highly recommend. We started with the polpette( sage meatballs). We chose the glass of Prosecco to accompany our first course. For the second course we did the Cappuccetto( which is a sausage pizza) and the wine paring was a Montepulciano( red wine) and I chose the funghetto( mushrooms and arugula), the wine paring was a really nice Sauvignon blanc. And for dessert we got the flourless chocolate cake with gelato and chose their limoncello. Now you don't have to get the suggested wine pairings that on the menu, they will allow you to choose what ever wine you would like. Our server Tyler, was awesome. Three words: Mondays half-off pizza!!! The Monday deal is perfect for that Monday pick-me-up or a celebration with friends. There's an extensive menu of pizzas and wine/alcohol, something for everyone. I've tried several of the pizzas but I'd say the Vesuvio is my go-to (it's packed with so much!). The Funghetto also has great mushroom flavor. I'd say the crab pizza hasn't been my favorite so far. The pizzas are quite large for one person and split into 4 large slices. If I'm at a normal hungry level then I eat half the pizza, or if I am extra hungry then I eat 3/4 of the pizza, so there's always a little goodness to bring home. Pros: - Able to take reservations! I called for a Monday night 5:15pm for a table of 14 and they were happy to accommodate. So if you are ever worried about it being too busy due to the popularity of the Monday deal, you can always call ahead. - Great service! They were very quick with taking our orders and serving us, even with such a large group. Also had plenty of water jugs on the table in anticipation which was appreciated. I sat the bar, which in the past has been fine. They were extremely busy. The drink and food came out promptly as ordered, however the bartender, "Justine", was extremely curt, and down right nasty. When it came time for me to pay the tab, she over charged me for drinks, and when I mentioned it, she corrected the tab, never apologized. She was probably the rudest individual I've ever encountered, and I will not be returning because of her attitude. Verde brunch during restaurant week was an awesome deal! 2 courses for $20! I'm a huge fan of Verde's wood fired pizzas--it's one of our go-to's any time we're feeling good pizza. We have only ever gotten takeout, so for restaurant week we decided to dine in and I was pleasantly surprised at how cute the interior is! The place was pretty busy, almost all but two tables were taken, but we got to sit right next to the open air kitchen where you can see the cooks preparing and baking the pizzas which is pretty cool. Great Neapolitan, wood-fired pizza. There are beautiful "leopard spots" on the pie. And I love the crispy soft crust very much. Bella Faccia tasted good either. The homemade mozzarella is a good partner of prosciutto. Taking them with focaccia is a great enjoy. But the environment is a little noisy, especially when the servers pass you from the bar area to the kitchen again and again. As a native New Yorker living in Baltimore, I am a little particular about my pizza! Verde is by far my fave Neapolitan pie in the city. Verde has thin crust pizza and everything always tastes so fresh. I have tried so many of their pizzas on the menu and have never disliked any of them. Outstanding! We hosted a Baby Shower on the mezzanine level and it was absolutely perfect. Nageen, the Event Manager, made the planning so easy. She was quick to respond to my questions and made great menu suggestions. An awesome find while walking around canton. We were by Patterson Park when we had a pizza craving and found this close by. We walked up to find outdoor tables (distanced apart from each other) and grabbed a seat. Walking inside for a bit revealed a very cool industrial style area with a full bar if you prefer to be indoors. This experience was my first dine in experience and 2nd time having Verde, everything that came out was sooooo so good!!! My friend and I also got Polpette, OMG it was INCREDIBLE!
