I recently went to Veraldi Salon for a haircut. I was recommended to Lis by a friend who had had about 40 bad haircuts from 40 different salons and said Lis was the best cut she ever got. I was hesitant b/c our hair was extremely different, hers wispy and long, mine shorter and thick. But as i was not having luck at the last 3 salons i had tried, i decided to go see what she could do. Best decision i have made in a long long time! She worked with me to figure out exactly what i wanted, b/c i really wasn't sure, she took her time discussing it, and helped me look through magazines to figure it out. Her cut was stylish and hip, but could also be brushed into a very professional look as i told her i was interviewing I have honestly never gad a better hair cut and i have hard hair!! Nicole is like the only person I trust to touch my hair. It's not that no one else is good with scissors and symmetry, but I've had trust and vanity problems when it comes with people whose jobs involve changing our appearances. I still have these issues to deal with daily, but when I sit in Nicole's chair, I don't worry too much about how others will perceive me and I can just be present in chatting with my hair stylist. Is that the right term? Can we talk about Classy Haircuts and ClassWar? What about Barb(e)rism as a more egalitarian profession? Nicole is not my barber, but I can't go to a barber shop because of the homogeneous crowd, so I am unsure of the name of her role, but I am very clear here on how the environment she stewards. I recently was recommended to Veraldi Salon, and have been there twice. Once for a haircut, and again for color. Leese was recommended, and she has given me the best haircut and color I have ever had. She has been there for something like 13 years, she's funny as can be, and VERY VERY talented!! I've been to lots of hairdressers who can't seem to hear what i'm saying, or translate it totally wrong. Leese understood what I wanted and gave me exactly what so many other stylist could not! Shes fabulous, the salon itself is small and cute, very relaxing laid back atmosphere. There are only three stylists, Leese's sister works there as well, and the other lady wasn't there, but I get the sense they are all very close! I am new to Pittsburgh and had a terrible hair cut at a salon I won't name. I'd been growing my hair out for a long time and was devastated by the bad cut. Silly but true. Someone suggested I see Leese at Veraldi Salon as they once had a bad hair cut years ago and Leese fixed it and they'd been going to her since. I was very nervous but Leese was really patient and walked me through all the options. She even took the time to pull up photos on her phone for me. The haircut she gave me was literally the best cut I've maybe ever had and the whole experience was awesome. Leese is funny and kind and really listens to what you tell her! I've been getting my hair cut with Leese for something like eight or nine years, and I'm impressed every time. I've gone through a number of different styles over the years, and I've felt confident in changing it up so often because I know she'll make it look great. About two years ago I decided to chop off all my hair for a really short pixie cut, and even though I was nervous, everyone there was so supportive and it turned out very well. I've kept it short ever since, and am continually happy with how it looks every time I get it cut. I received a few decent haircuts from this salon, but then one time the hair stylist was distracted, didn't listed to me at all, and turned my 'please take off an inch of my shoulder long hair' in to a full on pixie hair cut. My hair was above my ears! It was unbelievably far off from what I asked for. And looked horrible. I have never had a worse hair cut. It took me 2 full years to regrow my hair to a decent length (and I'm still so pissed about it that I'm writing this review 2 years later). I thought the salon had potential, but the cuts were so inconsistent - and in the end, just horrible - that I had to stop going. Be careful, if you decide to go here. read more

So this salon! One of a kind! Well I love all the haircuts I've gotten here ( I've had 2 by susan, 1 by Marisa and 5 by Leese) I have to say Leese's haircuts have lasted the longest and looked the absolute best! She's an incredible stylist who not only does amazing things with haircuts but color too! She also works very quickly, but without ever compromising quality! This allows me to go get a new amazing look on my lunch break!!!! That's a rare find! Leese is the best hairdresser I've had and I urge anyone looking for a great cut or color to go see her! I am a man who hates his own hair. It's thick, and it's curly, and it's sort of red. When it gets longer than a couple of inches, I start to look like a crazy person. It poofs up, then it flips out, and then I wear a hat until I can find time to buzz it. But alas, Nicole at Veraldi has discovered that my hair can be styled! It can be of a medium length, and I can comb it, and I can wear a clean shirt, and I can have dinner in any restaurant I want to. I told her I wanted to look like James Bond, and she made it happen. Nicole has cut my hair three times now, and as long as we live in the same city, I will continue to give her my business. read more

Trying a new salon is always a frightening experience for me. I moved here from Massachusetts two years ago and have bounced around to a couple places before I was directed to this salon by an acquaintance. I went and had my hair cut and colored by Leese, she was fantastic! She was kind, funny as can be, and really listened to what I said before she cut and colored my hair. The results are better than probably any I've had in my whole long 24 years! Everybody should go to Veraldi and see Leese! The other girls in the salon were awesome too! This place is very unprofessional. I walked in here and the place was empty and all the employees were texting or talking on their cellphones, never was I even greeted. Then a women walked towards me and asked "can I help you" I asked her for a haircut and she replied that we normally don't do men's hair and I should find some other place, REALLY!!! Great place to get a haircut! Me and my husband have been seeing Leese for the last two years and we couldn't be happier. She is very creative, always working the customer to figure out what style best suits him.
