The location is great and the inside is nice and spacious. Service was fantastic, we had some chips and salsa as soon as we sat down. We got some queso dip, it was probably the highlight of the visit. Piping hot and super flavorful. The rest of the meal was a little lacking. I had the Chile Rellenos and it was unique to say the least. The flavors were unlike any rellenos I've had before. They were cooked well, and they weren't bad, it was just middle of the road. If I was to go back I'd get the tacos. They had some good seasoning and had more flavor than any of the other dishes. Great service, good food!

Adobo and one of the tacos. We were busy eating!

Pipian chicken with "tiny, tiny" serving of Spanish rice with salad

We arrived for lunch during the week, the place looks inviting and we were seated right away. We got our drinks right away, with warm chips and red medium heat salsa. We didn't get an appetizer but the menu looks appealing, may try some next time. I ordered the Pipian Chicken, it wasn't great, the pipian sauce is served over chicken filet, but the flavor was lacking salt and the plate and food was not hot, not even warm. I do have to give you a star for the salad, it's a cabbage salad with crunchy tortillas thin strips, the rice is tasty but the portion of rice was "tiny", you could easily give double that amount on each plate. I would ask that your server tells you that you are getting a vinegar dressing for your salad, and provided other options. My other 3 coworkers had the beef filet that comes with sweet fried plantains. Hope to come back and try other choices.

Closed early, guy told me he didn't give a shit about me being here and they closed early. Great way to treat new people to the area.

Always great food and staff. One our favorite restaurants. A great variety of Mexican dishes unlike most Mexican restaurants.

The place was fully booked, but the hostess saved the day and offered us lounge seating on the sofas. Honestly, it felt a little VIP...like we'd accidentally wandered into the cool kids' corner. I halfway considered putting on my sunglasses indoors just to commit to the moment, maybe even asking if they offered bottle service in the lounge. Within 10 minutes we were settled in and already getting excellent service. And as if the vibe wasn't good enough, there was a one‑man show crooning jazzy tunes in the background. He was smooth, talented, and added just the right soundtrack for an early dinner. Think "speakeasy energy," but suburban‑friendly. Now, the food. My husband ordered the Crunchy Pig sandwich, my sister went for the half rack of ribs, and I claimed the smoked turkey BLT. Everything hit the table about 20 minutes later, hot, fresh, and so lip‑smacking tasty that we inhaled every bite before remembering we meant to take pictures. My apologies to the food‑photo purists; trust me, the plates were camera‑ready before we destroyed them. If you find yourself wandering around The District in Midlothian, do yourself a righteous favor and grab a memorable meal here. Great food, great service, great music, and apparently great sofas.

It was our first time and the servers were fine with our inquiries and leisurely pace. In the end, I had a huge salad in a large bowl and was so happy that I got my lemon vinaigrette salad dressing on the side. I took half my salad home! The soft delicious sundried tomatoes were wonderful. There is a lot to choose from and you can overdo. There are over 50 items on the salad bar. I paid $4 extra for some very tender cubed pesto chicken but the fresh chopped bacon was free. Salata has the most amazing multigrain croissants and one is free with your salad. There are two soups on the menu for purchase, as if you would have room! They looked so good. Salata does have wraps though... My husband had a large salad and it was ridiculous looking too. I can see a salad of that size on the family table. I think I'm starting to get the hang of this place! Certainly a few rolls and some soup or falafel or salmon with your salad would make putting a quick dinner together a breeze. Everywhere I looked I saw quality ingredients. The manager was very helpful and would have some terrific ideas I'm sure. We're looking forward to going back.

The marinara was could have been warmer, but good flavor. The fried mozzarella was good, served hot. Good flavor. Pizzas were well cooked, great toppings, very good crust. Great chew and crisp on the bottom from the oven. Generous toppings, large pizzas. The salmon was cooked correctly, fresh, and well seasoned. Too much olive oil on the salmon and veggies, but a good flavor. Grilled veggies were ok, just too much oil for my taste. Service was friendly and quick. Overall a great an experience.

We were the only ones there besides a lady at the bar. They could work on the ambiance a bit. I would the staff is professional. I don't know if that's because we had a bad experience the other day and thought we would complain again. Except for that and the chipped saucer things went well. I'm glad to know when to go. Definitely not when they're busy. But the shrimp are huge! We couldn't finish our food but gladly took it home. We will likely roll the dice again. We just know what to order when we go.

One of two places it looks like to eat in Founders Row. Came with a group of 7. We stood around the bar height tables and had drinks for about an hour before finally sitting down. The bartender took great care of us despite the size of the group and ensured we had everything we needed. Once we sat down, the real magic happened. We ordered a few apps for the table, calamari, spinach and artichoke dip and alligator bites. I only had some of the artichoke dip and some of the complementary smoked salmon dip they brought out. Didn't want to be too full for the catfish plate I ordered. The artichoke dip was made with smoked Gouda and was great. The other apps got great comments from other people in the party. I ordered a fried catfish plate that came with grilled shrimp, coleslaw and fries. Catfish was cooked perfectly and the grilled shrimp were delicious, great seasoning. The coleslaw is made with cabbage, green bell pepper and apple cider vinegar. Really great combo that worked well. Service was great especially for our large party. Our server who was also the bartender because we sat in the bar area kept a fresh soda water in front of me the entire time, never had to ask. The manager/owner? even stopped over to check in on us a couple of times. Stop in for a great meal, I wish I could return to try the crawfish etoufee.

There's also an easy-going ambiance reminiscent of that Crescent City charm with a menu and service to match. We were delighted to see so much of the late David Wilson's cuisine on the menu from his Cedar Hill restaurant. His son Shawn has a jewel here and it was tough to decide on an entree. There are many enticing newer items. Special menu items included a Spinach Artichoke Dip, Steelhead Trout, and even Grouper! Our waiter, Tanner, was very kind and helpful. Eventually I ordered an old favorite, the Fried Seafood Platter with Fried shrimp, scallops, and catfish that came with a Remoulade, a sweet and spicy Cocktail Sauce and a delicious Tartar Sauce. Substitutions were not a problem and of the sides, I ordered the sautéed Spinach and a potato cake! My husband was easy. Wilson's Pot Roast was calling him. Cooked with Cajun seasoning and slow roasted, it's served with mashed potatoes, celery, carrots, fried onions and gravy. He also wanted some Jalapeño Hush Puppies. There was virtually no wait for our food or so it seemed. Our food arrived and it was terrific, first bite to last. Odd that I would enjoy a vegetable so much but the spinach was excellent and it disappeared. All of my Seafood was perfectly fried with even my shrimp tails edible - nice and tender and crunchy. The potato cake was also yummy. I haven't had one in some time. That thin fried shell with the creamy tasty interior ... My husband was over there seemingly playing in his fried onions and gravy. I had to laugh. And then try some. Ooooh. So good. He couldn't stop eating them. And the roast beef! Very tender and a huge portion. We were definitely impressed with our first outing. The restaurant is beautiful. A gorgeous bar takes up one side of room. There are tables with pews for seating, and others with a singular banquette on one side and chairs on the other. These tables can be moved. There are two unisex restrooms. Everything was very clean. The "Revival Tent" patio is equipped with fans and lighting and would be nice in almost any weather. There is ramped handicapped access in front. We're coming back soon. I was impressed with the environs, pricing, portions, quality and especially the service.
