Go to a State Bank folks. Chase has gone to hell and wouldn't not trust them with your money.

I've always had a good experience at this particular branch until i recently moved back to the Bryan/College Station area back in October 2018. Every time i come to this location, there's one particular teller in the drive through takes entirely too long to process a transaction. He's tall, with dark hair. Twenty minutes in the drive through is ridiculous for a simple withdrawal. I made the mistake of not sending my ID through with my withdrawal slip, so i take full responsibility for that part. However i sent it promptly when he asked me for it. Apparently there was an issue and he needed my debit card even though i wasn't making the withdrawal from the account attached to that debit card. Which doesn't make any sense to me, and i've been in the banking business for over 7 years now. I ended up driving around and parking, unloading both of my children and going inside to ask what the problem was. I figured that he must have been new and still training. The second encounter i had with him was yesterday when i had 4 separate withdrawals from the same account, and i listed the denominations that i wanted on the back of each slip to make it easier on him. I even specified that when i sent the tube back and he acknowledged it. Then he proceeded to ask if i wanted them in separate envelopes and rolled his eyes at me when i said yes - i'm not sure what that was about, maybe he was having a bad day. However he still took ENTIRELY way too long to process my transactions. I've been other times and there is a really nice lady that works in the drive through - her customer service is impeccable. She's always very kind, and quick when processing my transactions. I will undoubtedly be back to this location because it's so close to my house. It's just unfortunate that the male teller that i described above is so slow and doesn't seem very good at his job. Banking isn't for everyone.

Oooooh, evil, evil, evil Wells Fargo…read more My story about Wells Fargo starts off with me, a naive freshmen newly arrived in Texas and needing a bank that my parents also had in Anchorage. Low and behold, there's a Wells Fargo on Northgate. So we walk over there. Everything goes smoothly, I open my account, check my check card, and a few years pass. I'm now in Houston and happen to check my credit report since my roomie had just had her identity stolen. Missed payments from Wells Fargo?! In 2004?! Hmmm, must investigate. Turns out the claim is that I didn't make two payments in 2004 on my credit card and then canceled the card down a few months later. Problem is that I never had a credit card with them--just a debit card. After months and months of calling Wells Fargo and trying to get them to fix it, we're at a standstill. They refuse to take it off and I've called as far as I can go. I think their secret weapon is how the lull you into a state of trust with their good customer service in person and then screw you into the ground when you're not looking. I guess I'll have to wait a few more years for it to finally be off my credit report. If you go with them, don't say I didn't warn you!

I even got a car loan from them, and when I refinanced with a credit union they were incredibly accommodating of the switch. I have both a credit and debit line with them and because I pay my bills and don't overdraft I'm now a "preferred" customer and can basically request an increased credit limit or lower interest rate. They are also incredibly forgiving of me losing my cards all the time and send replacements very quickly! However, my favorite thing about my account is the rewards program. I've earned back the minimal interest I have paid at least three fold this past year. If you are going to overdraft or can't pay off your credit card each month, maybe you shouldn't open a line of credit. Money is never free!
