Solid spot for fresh fish and great people-watching. Like many restaurants in Istanbul, Vera had a very persuasive salesman working the street to bring customers into the restaurant. We wanted to try some of the local favorites, and asked him if he had lüfer (a type of bluefish) and barbun (a red mullet). He responded by dashing across the street to the fish market, returning with the fresh fish and quoting us the market price for dinner. After that effort, we couldn't not eat there! The fish arrived perfectly done - head, tail and all. The only downside was the paltry side salad that was served without any dressing or oil. Overall, though, a pleasant experience. read more
