From day one, the crew showed up on time, was respectful of our home, and you could tell they genuinely care about doing things right. What really stood out to me was how upfront they were about pricing. When a couple of small things came up mid-project (as they always do with older homes), there were no surprise charges or awkward conversations -- just honest communication. That meant a lot to me. My husband actually has his contractor license, so he's pretty particular about this stuff, and even he was really pleased with the quality of the work. That says a lot! The deck especially looks amazing and we've already been out there enjoying it. We'd absolutely hire Castro Construction again and have already started telling friends and family. If you need exterior work done, don't hesitate -- these guys are the real deal.

We had a barnyard door installed which was bigger and needed an expanded framework on our door (which we knew). Juan gave us a quote close to $1,000 for this job which I thought seems steep but given his reviews and what not I'm okay with paying for quality yet here I am. The door was installed! Prior to I asked him if we needed anything for the door of course because it was not a manufactured door and didn't come with everything I assumed he would either bring it or I would have to purchase that stuff he told me I didn't need any of that I'm not the professional so I said okay‍ ‍..... This is what I was left with nothing but BUGS AND COLD AND HOT AIR COMING IN! Weatherization wasn't put on the door at all and I was told weatherization wasn't part of the job! I'm pretty sure to have a functioning door that stuff is needed yet here I am with ridiculous gaps in my doors and nothing but bugs $1,000 later I now have to pay someone else to come and complete Juan's job! When I asked him to come out for the job he told me he was very booked and could only work on the weekends and if he had to come back on Sunday if him and his guy didn't have time to finish! We understood and were more than welcome having him back. He was here for close to 13 hours left about close to 9 p.m. and left us with a very wet door in 100° weather (obviously too hot for paint to dry) we were unable to fully let dry before bed! So of course by 11pm we had to close the door and the pain got messed up. My husband had to repaint the door the next day! ..........As you can see! The job was definitely rushed and INCOMPLETE! BUYER BEWARE!!!!

The owner is incredibly professional and clearly takes pride in his work -- every cut, measurement, and finish was on point. What really stood out was how present and responsive he was throughout the entire process. Anytime a question or small issue came up, he was there immediately to address it and make sure everything was done right. You don't often find that level of care and accountability anymore. They did an excellent job on a, kitchen floor glue down, engineered hardwood floor (Bruce Hydropel)…read moreproject. The project involved boards that lock in both directions (angle/angle) making it more complicated. They allowed me to supply both the flooring and the glue for the project. They came out quickly to give an estimate which was very competitive. When given the go ahead, they were onsite within a few days as promised. There was a minor issue with glue sediment causing hazing on the floor which became noticeable the next day after cleaning, but when this was brought to their attention, the owner was at our house the next day to correct the issue which he did. We are very happy with them and intend to use them in the future.

I would give them negative score if I could. Unprofessional. Rude. Do not know the work. We had an…read moreabsolute nightmare-ish experience with them. We met Mo and Sam Mahseri. Mo is an absolute foul mouth. Sam(Osama) Mahseri seems to be in the habit of threatening his customers when they don't pay $5000 more than the agreed contract. He literally called us and said "we will face consequences if we don't pay up (he was asking for $5000 above what was written in a signed contract). When we did not pay, they refused to give us the electric completion letter we needed to get clearance from the city hall!! Even the job they did were shoddy. The roof that they constructed needed to be rebuilt 5 times, because every time it rained, it would leak into our house. Electrical work was bad. We had to pay extra to hire another electrician to fix everything. DO NOT hire them for anything unless you want to go through an absolute nightmare experience and throw away money for shoddy jobs!! In response to the comment below by Osama, it is common sense that if our existing roof was damaged, we would have had leakage into our house every single time it rained in the last 10+ years! The leakage was from the point where they built the new roof attached to the existing one. Our problems with Mahseri started from the time they started digging our backyard for the foundation. Every single time the city inspector came and denied approval because they did not follow protocol. The new roof they built had to be rebuilt because they did not put the right incline on it. The city inspector denied it again. Then the beams they put were not the correct size so as per the inspector, that had to be redone again. And even though it was their mistake that they had to rectify, Mo came and charged us more money because of the extra expense they had to incur to fix their own fault!! And thank you Osama for proving just how unprofessional you and your company is with your comment below. Your own brother had told us and it was written by you in your contract and closing contract that no money or obligation verbal or non-written would be honored by either party. Yet, because of your incompetence, since you had to keep redoing the work, you incurred more expenses than anticipated, you thought it right to just come to our home and demand more money!! I did notice that you don't deny threatening my family with consequences if we don't pay whatever you ask for. When all else failed, they sent a letter to city hall claiming we got our remaining work done illegally without permit, which obviously caused some harassment for us. Mahseri just assumed that their letter would suffice to get us in trouble, not knowing that a licensed contractor was actually employed to finish the work Mahseri could not! Also, just to add humor to this already terrible situation, might I also add-your own brother Mo actually called my husband and said that he "needs that $5000 to spend on his honeymoon"!!
