My daughter just turned 16 and for her quarantine Birthday all she asked for was a sewing machine and this cool all black skateboard from Venice Skateboarding Stuff. Feeling bad enough that she has to spend her 16th birthday locked down we wanted to make sure she got both things she asked for. I placed my orders and was excited for them to show up. About a day later I get an email from Venice Skateboarding Stuff stating that they were out of the all black board she wanted but had a couple other colors. Lucky for us our daughter gave us options =) I replied we'd take one of the other colors but I was concerned it wouldn't make it in time for her birthday. Morena the person who emailed me said she thought it would make it in time. I'm not sure if they expedited our order or had some sort of magic power but the skateboard showed up in plenty of time. On my daughters birthday when she opened it she was super excited. She tore open the box and in the plastic was a lime green hand written note wishing her a happy birthday! With this pandemic we find that it's the little things like that note that make a huge difference. I'm not sure if it was Morena who wrote it or someone else but thank you! You gave us some hope back in human kindness. My daughter loved the board too

Last week I visited Venice Beach for the first time. I was looking to buy a new skateboard and with help of the great reviews at yelp I chose Venice skateboarding and stuff. It was the best decision ever! First off all, the owner (sorry that I forgot your name) was the sweetest ant the had so much patient. The variety is great! So many board in every size and color. Finally, with the help of the staff I chose the globe mini cruiser with graphic leopard and I am very happy with it! It's fast, compact and beautiful! I can't stop riding it! By the way, the prices are great! Next time I'm in LA I know where is my first stop. Thank you so much!

Morena; Rubén; Rubén jr; Boris all set me straight! Came to rent a skateboard... Got a trick board but the trucks were a little wobbly so they tightened my trucks and this 300 pound behemoth rode off into the Venice walk! I haven't been on a skateboard in 34 years!!! Rode around a bit and got tired... so I returned my board early ... Ruben refused to charge me for the hour ... $15!!! He just wouldn't let me pay no matter what I said ... Morena was very helpful in helping me find a board for my daughter:.. not my real daughter as I was there to do an audition for a job that required me to ask questions at a skate shop about skating... lol But Rubén Jr. did help me with my board initially and showed me some cruiser skateboards... I felt more in control w the older classic trick boards they had; they got Powell Peralta and Steve Caballero boards to purchase as well for starting prices of around $115 to $135 so pretty decent prices for full fledged boards! They also sell protective knee; elbow; helmet equipment for when you do eat sh.. you don't have to break anything... you'll sign a waiver and will need to leave a credit card and or $140 cash if you don't want to leave a credit card ...but overall... they're very knowledgeable and friendly... I had a great time riding my board ... and was able to get the footage I needed riding one for my audition... Now if I book this thing... be assured I'll be back to buy that Dragon Steve Caballero board w Indy trucks and Dragon bone wheels... Skate or die mother truckers...!!! read more

This is a great family owned and operated business for almost 30 years. They carry all the best skate brands and the staff is very knowledgeable. They have good pricing and a great selection of Hardgoods. If you are coming to the Venice boardwalk area and need a pair of roller skates or a skateboard, this is the shop to go to. Wow!! They were so helpful. Put me at complete ease, they were a lot less concerned abt my issues in a good way!! Showing me what wd work and what I'd be happy with easy going guys both helpful and I felt treated special on Mothers Day Thank you guys for making my day, and really not even trying prob just doing their job.. but they're pros!! Happy menrefreshing!! it was appreciated and thoughtful. I bought beautiful skates " OLD SCHOOL" so pretty and the kicker last yrs. Model!! But..oh so pretty. They remind me of my mother. RIP VIRGININA She loved flowers and all these colors .. in the wheels, laces and on the skate boot! WOWZERS!! Thank you VEN/2023 prices were unbelievable too!! read more

Tourist prices don't even bother. I've skated for 20 years and was in the neighborhood looking to pick up a pool board. Figured I'd check this place out. Told the guy what I was looking for and he tried to sell me on a complete cruiser board I told him I'm good I know what I need just looking for a pool shape deck. After a few terrible recommendations from the guy (who was pretty confident despite his lack of knowledge about anything to do with skateboards) I just picked out a Santa Cruz deck myself and he tried to ring it up at $110 FOR JUST A DECK. I was like no way dude, and he tried to say "these wider boards use more material so they're more expensive." I tried so hard not to laugh in his face. There was even a sticker on it that was faded that said retail $80 and I pointed it out to him and offered him $85 out the door for it without grip cuz I've got some at home. He said no chance best he could was $100. This place is just marking up boards by at least 80% and trying to capitalize on the reputation of Venice and Dogtown surf and skate culture. This shop is offensive to skateboarding. Don't buy your boards here, don't take your kids here to get their first boards, you're way better off at a real skate or surf shop. Even Zumiez is more legit than this tourist trap. read more

Small shop right on Venice boardwalk, so it is fun to walk around and see the sites. Small store but it has a good selection, and the people there are very helpful with the recommendations. Went there and bought a skateboard for my daughter and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. They let her try out several boards to make sure she got the right length. They can also custom build a board for you if you want. They have full accessories as well. They tossed in two stickers for her board for free. nice job! read more

Just wanted to say thank you for a great customer service experience today. The two young people working there were polite and patient. I'm pretty new to skateboards and had my old board get new trucks which was difficult but i'm very happy with the work. Also i got a new Triton Carver board. I had been looking at another and the young man who helped me actually talked me to a board that he thought would be more enjoyable for me and i love it. read more

Good shop & lots of boards. Helpful. Got a deal on one board, but I think it could have been even cheaper and got over charged on another. Their own Website price was $10 cheaper. Going to call up the shop to see what they can do for what I hope was a mistake in pricing since the owner was not their. They did not even mention the Yelp 10% deal. Make sure you speak to the owner, she is the one who sets or adjust the prices. They were happy to give us a free Venice sticker, but that's free advertising for them. Great selections though. The guy from Australia was awesome knowledgable and really nice. The day we went in the girl was helpful but seemed not happy, but still helpful. I'll update after I call them tomorrow. read more

Needed some 1/2" risers and hardware,they hooked me up and had everything I needed.CHEAP. Right on the Venice art walk, this place is a cool little spot. And, being Venice...Deals and haggling can be done. It's just a sweet, simple little skate shop in a good location right on the beach. I haven't spent too much time looking around, but the store is stacked with as much stuff that they can pack into that small space. It's cool. If you skate, and you're in Venice, this should be your spot. read more

I came in here to try to buy smaller spacers for my longboard. (1) The blonde girl (whose name I don't know) told me I didn't need to buy new ones, and my board would be fine without them, even though she easily could've sold me some. (2) Ruben spent about seven minutes removing the old - - too big - - spacers from my board using his electric drill and his vice. Absolutely free. In short, because of their niceness and ethics, they got none of my money and spent a bunch of their time helping me, solely out of the goodness of their hearts. These people are rockstars! :-) read more

Super cool place, staff is really helpful and nice. Sky and Terry (hope that's his name the masks made it a little hard to hear!) were amazing and not only hooked me up with a much better set of wheels for my board, but Sky also put the wheels on for me, replaced a whole bearing for free and put speed cream on my bearings. Y'all need anything while on the boardwalk you should stop by this spot. They play good tunes too. read more

Very bad experience , they did not tell my 17 year old daughter of their final sale policy and she did not like the poor quality of the penny board and we wanted to return it in a half an hour after she bought it and they did not give us our money back!?This business is not professional and not honest, skate boards are poor quality. I will not recommend it to anyone. I see the comment below but your sales personnel did not give the receipt to my 17 year old , and you should not sell such expensive thing to under age teens. These guys were great. They helped my seven-year-old find the perfect board. He ended up going back to Connecticut with the true Dogtown souvenir. Prices were exceptionally reasonable, especially considering they are right on Venice Beach. I know my son will cherish his Dogtown board for years. read more

Established in 1997.

Venice Skateboarding has proudly been in business since the late 1990's making them an experienced business. Their first store opened up on Windward and the boardwalk as a small shop beach front. Over the years that small shop grew in merchandise and business. That little shop everyone once new growing up has turned into a world wide skate wonderland with the amount of boards that will make ones jaw drop. Venice Skateboarding Stuff opened their sister store about 5 blocks north on the boardwalk in 2006. They have been a success since day one.

Morena and Ruben are the owners of Venice Skateboarding Stuff. They are a married couple with 3 wonderful kids. They are a family business who transformed Venice beach and it's skating world.

Went in about a week ago, super clean shop with a huge selection of boards. Their selection of old school t-shirts is insane, and if one store doesn't have your size their other store most likely will. The store I was at didn't have my size in a shirt I wanted , in less than 5 mins someone brought one in my size to the shop I was at. I will be ordering stuff online and returning when I'm in the area For sure. read more

Purchased a long board from them a couple of days ago. They have a massive selection! The two girls who helped us were lovely, they were not at all pushy and were knowledgeable. They didn't try to sell us the most expensive one but instead listened to our needs and offered us a variety of options. It was for my 7 year old daughter, her first skateboard, she loves it! The pros: every once in awhile they have a pop-up event like today…read more The cons: they're rarely open. This is a shop with fabrics, beads, buttons, sewing accessories from France. They have classes and sell embroidery patterns. All of it is Interesting but kinda spendy. It is still worthwhile to go when they have an event.

BEWARE... Using Aaction Installation was the worst experience. I was waiting all day for 5K worth…read moreof appliances. Then the technician texts me that he will be late. When the Aaction Installation tech arrives, he rings my doorbell 3 times in under 10 seconds. So when I make my way to the door I say jokingly, "Have some patience. I waited 5 hours, and you can't give me 10 seconds to open the door?" Then I laugh. The technician gets angry and says, "Then you can have someone else deliver your appliances." Then he just left. So I call Aaction Installation's main office and explain what happened. No apology. No empathy. Instead, they just explain that the technicians are independent contractors and they can't control them. Then they tried to reschedule as if it happens all the time. The lowest standards. I made sure to cancel my entire order and got a full refund.
