Over 300 fleet of fence needing to be replaced. Over $18,000 Just a train wreck of an install. Started the job weeks late and was told it would be done is 2 weeks and took over 2 months with days of only 2 guys working from 10 to 2 most of the time. I had to play foreman during the entire job. They where digging a trench in the soil so the top of the fence would be level. Great, that would have rusted out in no time. Several panels going up a hillside were installed wrong and had to be replace multiple times to be made right. I asked Fabian NOT to carry panels up through a planted hill side and 10 minutes later, he was carrying a panel up through the roses. I was told the entire fence would get a coat of rolled on paint. They started off just doing a quick touch up job that looked good from 30 feet but if you actually looked at it, there was exposed steel with significant scratches. I am confident they have never done a thorough paint job on a fence in years. Check the bottom of your fence to see if it got a coat of paint! No one has a mirror so they never check. I had raw steel panels made on site and put in, there was no primer or paint on the bottom rail. I brought that to their attention and was told they would fix it. The problem was, no one bothered to use a mirror to look at the bottom of the fence. Days later, I had to tell Beto to go to a $.99 store to pick up a mirror. Amazing, how did they ever check their work? Oh, they don't. I had Jesus on the job for half a day and that didn't change things. You have to monitor and verify everything if you want the job done right. Everyone was very nice and accommodating but the job lacked someone that new how to do the job right and who really cared about doing it right the first time and not the 3rd and only after someone noted that it wasn't correct. Albert was the man that sold the work and is Jesus's son. Very good at telling you what you want to hear but lacks fallow through. Cannot recommend Venegas Steel for fence work! The end product come out OK but only because I was on them constantly. read more

I contracted with Jesus to install approximately 80 ft. of iron railing at my house in the Silver Strand, Oxnard. I got several quotes, The highest was $22K and JV was the lowest at $8K. I agreed to do powder coating on the railing to resist corrosion. JV indicated that he did his own powder coating. I indicated in the requirements that I wanted Rustic finish. This is a brownish coating that looks nicer than plain black. Unfortunately what he delivered was black. Overall the interior work looks OK. After only 8 months the exterior shows rust on most of the welds. See the photos for details. I emailed Jesus recently about this but he has not responded. The staircase railing is unstable. By shaking the bottom of the handrail I can get the entire thing to flex and oscillate. I asked Jesus to fix this. One of his employees came by with a piece of column to install at the top of the handrail to stabilize it. Unfortunately it was too short. After numerous attempts to get someone to come back to fix it, I gave up. The handrail was covered with small sharp burrs on the underside. Both my wife and myself got cuts from these the first couple of days we used it. I had to go over the whole length of both handrails with a Dremel, knocking down these burrs. When I installed my engineered wood floors, I had to remove the screws holding the railing down to the stairs so I could get the treads under. On some of these the heads were completely stripped and had to be cut with a sawzall. Some of the screws' threads were not grabbing wood and just popped out. I replaced all screws with shorter ones and managed to get these all to thread into wood properly. If you are thinking of installing steel railings near the ocean - don't. Use stainless or wood. read more

Contracted with Venegas Steelworks to replace 160 ft. of wrought iron fencing around our backyard. We negotiated a price that was fair and competitive. The biggest problem with this company is communication. Was very hard at times to contact Jesus, either by phone, txt, or email. I needed information and was not getting it. The project also took 2 1/2 months, which was entirely too long. Also, the style changed midway through the project with the addition of caps on all the posts, which was not discussed prior. At any rate, once they actually got started working on this project and built the panels and started installing, it was great! All the workers worked hard, were friendly, and did very good work. We are very satisfied with the end result. If you are not in a rush, I can recommend this company. read more

Do not use this company. Once they have your money, they will promise to come out to fix issues and not show (3 times I was stood up). Albert will speak nicely to you on the phone and promise to come out, make an appointment, then not show. This has been going on since February. It is now May.
