I had a 2:40 appointment. To make the appointment, I had to register. Ok, one of the "required" items was a pharmacy. But look, the drop down menu does not list the closest pharmacy and will not accept a typed in address. I bail on registration. I arrived 20 minutes prior to my appointment. No one is at he desk. 10 minutes in someone arrives. Great, fill out some forms and....nothing. No one comes in or out. Thirty minutes after my appointment, the first patient is called. At 45 minutes, post-appointment-time, with no hope in sight I leave. So despite having an appointment you can count on a minimum of an hour wait. Not ok. read more

Took my child here with chest pain and shortness of breath and was refused care due to not having a credit card with me for the facility to put on file. We have insurance but I offered to pay in full with cash and was told I still needed to have a credit card on file. I left and drove my child to a different urgent care and was seen immediately; no credit card needed. To refuse urgent or emergent medical care due to not having a credit card, contributes to the problems associated with access to proper medical care. read more

So... you make an "appointment" on the website, just to sit in the lobby with walk-ins, just to be seen 1.5 hours after your "appointment"! The nice receptionist informed me that the "appointment" is actually your check-in time and the people who checked in before you are seen first. The company promotes lie on their website. Made an appointment on Thursday evening to have a potential broken ankle looked at. Website said - X-ray machine, however upon arrival found out there was no tech to operate. Was referred to a second Velocity location in Suffolk for Friday morning. Had X-rays taken, the results were to be sent back to Carrollton the same day after being read. No call on Friday. Called Carrollton on Sat, was told 'too early' (10:00), someone would call me later. No call on Sat. Attempted to call on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. No one answered the phone. While the people were all nice - the service was totally unacceptable. Might be good for your kids HS physical, but couldn't recommend this place for true emergency services. Would have rated a -1 if that were possible. read more

I was seen at this facility and prescribed antibiotic medications. They sent the prescription to the wrong pharmacy, but the pharmacy messaged me, so I knew where to go. When I got to the pharmacy to pick up the medicine, they prescribed eye drops... I do not have an eye infection. Of course, at this point Velocity is closed. I call the next morning to get the prescription changed. I keep getting sent to voicemail. I finally get ahold of the care team, and they look at the notes and talk to the provider, who says they will change the prescription, by the end of business day. I call the pharmacy, and they do not have an updated prescription. The pharmacy closes. I call Velocity back, to request they send it to another pharmacy or give me a hard copy so I can take it. I am told the provider is with another patient and will call me back. At this pint my pain is severe enough that I have not slept in a few days and I cannot eat. I tell the person I am talking to on the phone that I may just go to another urgent treatment center. She states that is not necessary and they will call me back. It has now been 36 hours since I was originally seen, I still do not have a prescription, and I got no call back. To add insult to injury, when I called, they hung up on me. I will NEVER go here again, nor take my kids here. I am in for another miserable night, trust me.. you are better off going just about anywhere rather than here. They are rude, make careless mistakes, and do not care about patients at all. read more

I shouldn't have to wait for 3 hours to be seen. My son was feeling ill, and I'd had good experiences here before. I checked in on-line for a 3:30 slot. We showed up on-time for our appointment. The person at the front desk told me to take a seat and that she'd call me back up shortly. She said she wouldn't forget. Well, she forgot. Once I realized this was an issue, I went up to the desk to let her know she never called me back up. She checked me in, took my co-pay, so I thought everything was fine. The pace of patients going in-and-out was slow, but I figured it was due to the cold season. I was prepared to wait patiently. Then, I was skipped twice by people that came in after me. I again approached the desk to inquire and was told they were taking people back based on the time they checked in. Since she had forgotten about me and didn't check me in when I arrived, I was not the next in line. She assured me I was next, but I wasn't. Velocity needs to make it clearer that the online check-in is not an appointment. Me, plus everyone else in the office tonight, thought they had an "appointment" and was surprised to hear that wasn't the case. I understand that each patient is different and that it takes time to attend to each patients needs but three hours is not acceptable. Also, there were several walk-ins that were turned away starting at 6:00, all because there was such a delay in service. I will say that the staff handled this situation well however, the cut off time was not explicitly explained. I will not come back to this Velocity. This is not quality medical care. I plan on contacting Tricare and Humana to suggest they remove Velocity from their coverage. read more

Just went in for the COVID Rapid Test (in FL for work the past couple of weeks and they are NOT social distancing/wearing masks...we were though) and everyone from the Front Desk to the Nurse to the Doctor were all very efficient and nice! This has to be the absolute worst location on earth. The providers call with results and updates with little to no patience ,compassion for understanding or empathy. I did not go to medical school so don't rush me off the phone as I'm asking questions. I was prescribed a medication that could have slowed my heart down due to drug interactions for something I'm already on, so forgive me if i ask a ton of questions... i don't trust you!!! Currently awaiting a returned call from corporate and i will keep calling until someone answers. The communication and patient follow up is the worst!!!!!! read more

The waiting area was very clean and quiet. The staff was super nice and took the time to figure out what my concerns and symptoms were. The doctor prescribed the correct medication and I'm feeling much better today. read more

Tuesday, July 4, 8:15 AM I an elderly female patient Was met with rudeness and professional. Incompetence by the attending PA. in Exam room #2. Upon walking through the door She immediately informed me that she saw me the day before and that she had already told me what to do. She had no concern that the pain had increased ten fold, and it was radiating out under my collar bone and down my arm and that I was sitting there almost in tears with a bag of thawing onions on my shoulder trying to relieve the pain and had self dosed myself with ibuprofen. No" how are you since I saw you last,"? or any human kindness was shown. She maintained a distance of 4 feet at least from me, and like the day before never asked to observe my shoulder or palpitate it. She didn't ask if I experienced pain when I raised my arm, or any form of movement. No tests of any kind were performed for an evaluation on either day to look for a type of rotator cuff injury. .Nor was any visual test done which could have used to check for biceps tendonitis. Other tests which are meant to check for shoulder instability, dislocation or Arthritis were not performed. Nothing other than asking me if I had injured myself. So she diagnosed me as a muscle spasm. The day before she did not even tell me to use ibuprofen for the pain just to go buy some Bengay, or a Lidocaine patch. I asked for a pain pill, she said ,"No". That info I could have gotten off the internet. The PA informed me I could take 4 Ibuprofen every 8 hours. When I got home I checked the internet and it stated "1 pill every 4 to 6 hrs while symptoms persist; if pain or fever does not respond to 1 pill, 2 pills may be used; do not exceed 6 pills in 24 hours". She spent less than 5 minutes with me. Save yourself the $25.00 fee and consult a neighbor, like I finally did or go on the internet.If I could give a negative star I would. read more

I took my daughter in late last week because she was complaining of an ear ache. They diagnosed her with an ear infection then sent in a prescription to our pharmacy. My daughter was still complaining of ear pain days later and her outer ear was also starting to turn red and look infected so we took her into our regular pediatrician. Her ear was still very badly infected. When our pediatrician looked at the dosage of her current antibiotic prescribed by Velocity Urgent Care, it was determined that the NP we saw at Velocity had prescribed my daughter the wrong dosage for her weight. She should have been given a much higher dosage for her weight. This concerns me on many levels. I do not recommend this place to any parent as their negligence could have had much worse consequences. I have every intention of following up with the office manager tomorrow as this is not okay. When a parent takes their child into a medical office, they should be able to trust the person giving them care and not have to second guess whether the medical provider knows how to probably write a dosage for a prescription. read more

We had been getting notices in the mail about the online appointment maker to save time as opposed to just walking in and waiting. We tried to make one at the Harbor View location near us but they were filled up. So we made an appointment for 330 at the Carrollton location 35 minutes from us because they were completely open. We did the registration online and arrived 15 minutes early as asked. It's now 4:24 and my husband is still in the waiting room waiting to be seen. If you think this will save you time as opposed to a regular ER or your doctors office you're probably wrong like we were. read more

Stopped by the brand-new Velocity Urgent care in Suffolk, VA off Godwin Blvd. because I was sick. Walk in & the receptionist is talking to a patient at the front... we wait & wait she doesn't say I'll be right with you or anything... after she was being rude to the patient she looked at us & said you need to go sign in at the kiosk (which she could of told us that right when we walked in), so we did that, sat down waited for 25 min for her to then ask us have you been here before; we said no you just opened this facility she said then you need to fill out this paperwork. Did that, then waited for another 20 min (mind you there's only 1 car in the parking lot & 1 patient there in the waiting room), finally get called in & the physicians assistant doesn't even introduce herself... we then look over & there's also an exposed used needle that didn't get put into the needle trash box. Doctor came in and I addressed the issues with her & she did however take care of the needle but I told her about the receptionist & that the first person a patient see's should be nice, friendly & curtious. We will not be going back to this facility. read more

I don't recommend this urgent care to anybody. If you need urgent care, you'd do better to go to Lakeview Medical about 2 minutes away or going to Patient First in Chesapeake Square. I was pregnant and was sure I had the flu when I body this location. However they dismissed my concerns and sad that it was just a little virus that would go away on it's on and that my body was just sore and weak because of how I was sleeping. Are you kidding!!! So I went to Patient First early the very next day and they confirmed I certainly did have the flu. And probably had for 2-3 days prior ! Smh. Registered to be seen in past at another location and was ripped off as after registration was told they couldn't treat me, sent me to ER. They messed up on billing and charged 200$ to credit card on file. We had to fight through credit card company for refund. I've taken my grandbaby there several times in the past. Just paid copay in cash. Never a problem until today. Refused to see her because we wouldn't put a card on file or pay 100$. States policy went into effect August 2018. She was born 2019. This is fraudulent activity. I will write the commissioner of insurance. read more

Used the one at Carrollton in the Sentara facility. Do NOT go there. You should know they are NOT affiliated with Sentara. I did not even see a DR. It was an underling nurse or PA who diagnosed, prescribed an antibiotic and ran a culture. Five days later I am not feeling any better so I call them about the culture. They tell me yes, the culture is back and the antibiotic prescribed will work. Be patient. I called my Dr. and she asked me to bring her the culture reports. I went in to get my reports to take to my Dr's office and that was a nightmare. The office staff was RUDE, ignoring me when there was only one other person in the waiting room. They were waiting for her to finish filling out her paperwork. When I approached again I was told to WAIT my turn. After 20 minutes waiting on a copy I left and my Dr's staff requested the paperwork. The Dr. was furious when she saw the report - clearly what they prescribed me was not going to work. The staff in my Dr's office told me they had heard so many complaints about this facility. They really never took time to read the results of the labs, even when I called and asked for the results they gave me bad information. The rude office staff on top of that. Then the clincher, I paid the $40 co-pay at the time of the visit which is a SPECIALIST co-pay on my insurance. I never received a bill. But one day out of the blue they make a charge against my credit card for the lab work. I NEVER authorized them to use my credit card at will. It was a few dollars but the point is they charge for a specialist and give you a nurse - nothing against a nurse but they are not a DR. They cant even read lab work. And hold your credit card information on file to use whenever they want - I guess to save money so they don't have to bill you. They are nothing more than a greedy business looking to give low level care and make as much profit as possible. They will be out of here before we know it - but their pockets will be full of our money. read more
