Also, At that school, teachers and staff don't arrive before 8:00 Am, so I do not know how it is possible for that to have happened. You couldn't go in puddles at the time because tons of students were falling and getting wet, and removing all access is what was best for everybody! That principal was the kindest principal I have ever had, and he never raised his voice, let alone screamed at children, saying "I CONTROL YOU. YOU HAVE TO BE ON SCHOOL PROPERTY." As well, Skateboarding on the road can be illegal in some cases, so that teacher was just looking out for students to ensure ultimate safety! In That school, they cannot make you stay late, and they probably wouldn't. AND CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG, BUT I DON'T THINK THIS SCHOOL IS IN SAN DIEGO! As well as my own review, The school is not my favourite since the previous principal left. Poor planning, field trip forms coming home the day before the trip, and other things similar to that. Each and every one of these ladies (teachers and assistants) is a treasure. My son has a gluten sensitivity, and Ms. Gloria went out of her way to bake gluten-free versions of all the baked goods they serve for snacks, and buy gluten-free treats for him to have on celebration days. I feel as though all the staff were very cautious with him and I can't express my gratitude for this enough. I delighted in hearing all about what he was learning. From the different continents, to planets in our solar system, it was all amazing. I can't believe the grasp he already has on phonetics and math. We are sad to be leaving the school, but will always look back on this experience fondly. Thank you for making my little guy's first school experience so exceptional.

Overall, I don't think I regret spending my "good years" at Shep, even if a lot of my friends went to other high schools on the north side of town. While it wasn't the same without peers I really knew, Shep still had its good qualities. They have an amazing department of staff who really know their stuff. The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is available here, full and partial, along with one of the best drama and music school programs in the city. Of course, it wasn't just all about the arts; Shep has a kick-ass football and basketball team too. As a result, it's a very competitive school. I think it's always in silent rivalry with Archbishop and Old Strathcona. The school has two floors, with a library and study space on each level. Cafeteria space is limited but serves decent lunch surprises, if my memory hasn't faded completely. The school gym is also equipped with a full-fledged fitness centre for students, to ensure physical health in addition to mental and intelluctual stimulation. Shep also has a great location, right in between the Woodcroft and Westmount areas. The Westmount shopping centre (notice I didn't say mall) is across the street, and the bus terminal is right outside the school parking lot. The Woodcroft library is just across the football field, and the school is also conveniently located beside the Peter Hemingway pool and fitness centre, and Coronation Park. After all, it's all about location, location, location. So I'm proud to say that Shep was my high school. The IB program really helped me prepare for university, as it got me into my study habits early. I still remember some of my teachers here, from time to time. They're the teachers who really stand out in my memory, and who I believe helped make a difference in my life. Thanks for the memories, Ross Shep!

I love Greenview Elementary. It's been so long but the teachers were great. Most of them were the…read moretype you could joke around with and they didn't take themselves to seriously. The best part was the playgrounds. They were massive. One big park and one smaller one for the younger kids. They have tons of soccer fields and couple of baseball diamonds and a skating rink which is fairly new and probably among the better ones in the city. It comes equipped with benches and all. OH and a big hill for winter if you want to go sledding during recess. They also had a huge empty field but now condo's have gone up in that field but there is still more than enough empty land to play on. I don't know if they still get off early on Thursday's but if they do.. you're welcome. Is it obvious I went here?

That said the staff go above and beyond to help the students here learn and they do their utmost to give these students all the opportunities that they can. Spanning a large number of social-economic backgrounds, the student body is very diverse and this is perhaps one of the strengths of the student body as well. Recently the office underwent a nice reconfiguration/renovation. The gymnasium is very well maintained. The school is reasonably accessible via transit or car.

The school itself is well maintained, with the bathrooms being kinda clean for a middle school, floors are messy but I guess that's normal. All in all not a bad school to attend but not really good either the choice is yours.
