Some €300 spent (for a group of eight people). Not cheap. Or is it just the number of people I paid for? :) The service is below average. I had to look for a waiter every time we needed something. Not a single time they came to ask if we were okay. Special event, a day to remember!

When the remainder of our party arrived we were shown to our table, outside on the patio overlooking the sea. What could make this idyllic situation better. The food. There was a mixture of orders around the table and everyone was in awe of the standard of cuisine. My mussels were totally delicious. A reasonable choice for three courses and salad and bread also added but no drink. We both had the onion soup, which was very good and turned out to be the highlight of the meal. Both our main courses were overlooked and a struggle to get through. Dessert was good but not as hot as it should have been. Our waiter probably had looked at it several times before serving it. He really was poor and should not have been in the service industry. We chose the house white wine which was pleasant but were astonished to see it charged at nearly €14, which was far too much for the quality. The restaurant is nicely positioned with comfortable seating but food was average at best.

As I can see from previous reviews, the prices went up in the past 2 years. €19.95 menu for two now, drinks NOT INCLUDED. Used to be €17 for two, a drink, coffee, dessert INCLUDED in 2016. Not super cheap anymore. Busy most of the time, better make a reservation.

He and his daughters run the restaurant with a few close coworkers who may as well be family, and their service is as good as the food. Everything, from boquerones (lightly fried large sardines) to patatas bravas to pulpo (octopus) has been perfect every time. And the prices are fantastic at 6 euro for a plate of boquerones and 3 euro for the patatas bravas. But by far our favorite is the made to order paella mixto. Jorge puts love into his cooking, and this, and his fresh seafood and vegetables, keep us coming. Ack year after year. It is always our first meal when we reach torrevieja, our home away from home.
