I have flown at 3 other flight schools in the Denver area, and enjoyed all but this one. My first lesson I was scheduled from 8am-10. I showed up early and ended up sitting on the couch for 45 min waiting for the airplane to be pulled out of the hanger. The instructor had the nerve to charge me for ground during that time, even though all we did was sit around, no instructing occurred.
The following flight was scheduled for 1pm. I got a message one hr before my scheduled lesson saying he wouldn't be able to start until 130pm. I showed up at 130pm, noticed that the fuel was low, asked them to put 10 gallons in, and proceeded to wait another 15 minutes for my instructor. It was obvious that he had bumped my lesson in order to squeeze another one in. Once the lesson did start I told the instructor we were low on fuel, and he replied we would be fine , however, 20minutes into the flight he made us land and get fuel because he was worried we were too low on fuel.
The final straw occurred when we had another "scheduling conflict." We had a flight scheduled for 830 am Sunday morning. I get a text message at 1145pm the night before saying he scheduled it wrong, and we didn't have the plane. I'm not sure if the instructor realized, but, I get a email verification when the plane is scheduled for me. The verification said we had the plan 830-1030am on this specific day. I notified him that I believe we do have the plane, referring to the email. He has yet to reply.
I'm not one to down on small flight schools, however, I am paying good money to fly there. The instructor seemed like he wanted me to work around his schedule and had no issue with re-arranging the schedule at the last minute, not taking into account the fact that I had to rearrange my schedule to get the lessons in. I am extremely disappointed with Vector Air and the young instructor I had to deal with. read more
