The location is great: right on beautiful Piazza Solferino in the historic center, very easy to reach. The restaurant itself is elegant but still feels welcoming, with a spacious main dining room and a smaller, more intimate side room. The menu has plenty of choices, with a strong focus on seasonal and local ingredients. I tried several dishes, and they were all fantastic. One dish I definitely recommend is the steak tartare with quail egg yolk, mustard, anchovies, onions, capers, and a touch of Tabasco (a great balance of flavors), which is brought to your table with the ingredient kept separate, and the assembled table-side by the waiter. The zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta and mint on pea cream (light and fresh), were also great, just like the tajarin alla Monferrina, a classic Piedmontese fresh pasta that was incredibly flavorful. For mains, I had the larded pork fillet with pea cream and broad bean salad, and the standout of the evening--the braised beef in Barolo wine with drops of polenta, which was rich, tender, and full of flavor. Even the bread basket was memorable, with breadsticks and a variety of different breads. Service was attentive and professional, and the wine list offers some excellent Piedmontese bottles to complement the food, plus great cocktails. Overall, it's a great spot whether you're looking for a leisurely dinner while exploring the city, a business lunch[1], or even a special occasion.
