I agree. My son is in year 8 and having a wonderful time. The school really nurtures the individual. My son is academic and has been given lots of opportunities to shine- including being part of a scholars programme called The Brilliant Club which encourages state school kids to apply to the top universities. He loves the drama department, the opportunity to study philosophy. He's not the most sporty boy but the PE department have really increased his confidence. The music department is great. Stringer has got all the kudos in recent years but Varndean has a huge heart, a great head and excellent teaching and is fast closing the gap. read more
