I have been Vapiano member since years now. And I seen the restaurant in Mannheim (specifically) loosing its wimp and sliding down the quality street. The last visit was not different from the past experiences: 1) The specials are 'always' out - not available. I do not get the point of having specials announced, but not having enough stock. Its been 3rd time in couple of weeks, that they are out of stock. 2) The staff behavior has gone from bad to worse. Vapiano staff were treating people rudely, and then asking them to file a complaint at counter. It just seemed as if they wanted deliberately to raise the number of complaints and thus were teasing customers - I do not know the motives behind. 3) The pasta served to us was bland (no taste), and had black (burnt) onions with uncooked tomato sauce. When the chef/cook was asked to improve it, he rudely negated it. 4) Waiting-time for pasta was around 30 minutes while for pizza, it was was told to be 40 minutes (though I got my pizza in 20 minutes, which was burnt). 5) The prices have raised over the period of time, but the quality and the quantity of food and the behavior towards customers had definitely declined. read more

To be honest I was never disappointed from any Vapiano around the world, never walked disappointed, the same applies on #Vapiano_mannheim always good food, friendly service, nice atmosphere, definitely very highly recommended all year, they have a beautiful outside area in the summer always buzzing with people. I would seriously recommend to try and tell the cooks what would like in principle and let them get creative, and they are very creative very engaging with the customer, informative and very pleasant. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at Vapiano! :) It's not a sit down restaurant, so you have to get a paying card from the front desk before heading to pasta, pizza or antipasti stations. They have menu in English, so it's helpful. :) I waited at the pasta line (since they cook it by each order, the wait can get a little long) and ordered Salami E Ricotta Con Rucola with spaghetti pasta and added chili and garlic. :) The pasta was fresh and delicious. The server will ask you to put your paycard at the register so he/she can ring the order. Once you get your food, find anywhere in the restaurant to sit and enjoy... Once you're done, you pay on your way out. I will definitely return to try their pizza as many other people were eating them! Yummy.. read more

I frequent Vapiano's regularly, and enjoy the ambiance as well as their reasonable prices. I always order Pizza Bruschetta (arugula=rocket salad in german, tomato, cheese) which, like everything else, is freshly prepared on every order. The dough with the tomato is actually produced somewhere else and heated up on the spot, but fresh ingredients are added. The pasta and everything else has much smaller portions and overall meh, in my opinion. It's super packed during rush and peak hours, so I would advise going during off hours. I have to mention the unforgettable experience at the Vapiano's bathroom. I'm not sure if they over ordered their beverage inventory but they had cases and i mean in plastic cartons and stacked to the top of the small bathroom! bottles of orangina, beer and other sodas in the bathroom!! not opened and finished glasses that are waiting to be recycled, but the actual drinks RIGHT next to the toilet, IN THE BATHROOM. incredibly hard to accept...and just downright weird. of all places to store your drinks. the bathroom would certainly not be an option. I would think twice about buying a drink from Vapianos, but I do like the concept of an attempt to offer "healthy" fast food at a good price point. read more

I enjoy the atmosphere and the layout of the whole venue. Yummy Italian food B-: Bruschetta - it was alright, nothing too special A: Pesto mit nulein nach wahl - very creamy and delicious B: Prosecco - it was prosecco, seems like Sprit is the drink around here but I didn't add Red Bull to mine. Apparently this is a chain restaurant? I wouldn't mind coming here again next time I'm visiting, it's a great place to grab lunch. read more

I love coming here to Vapiano. Whenever I'm here in Germany I always try to stop by and try their new pastas. It's really nice that you get to watch the chef prepare your meal and have em modify it to your liking. The meals cost around 14€, a good deal if you ask me. I've been to other local restaurants and payed a lot more for pastas and can't really say that the expensive pastas were a lot different in quality. I enjoy coming here and definitely return again. read more

salads are awesome, but i would not recommend the pizzas or calzones. the cheese is weird and does not fully melt, the tomato sauce has no flavor, and the pepperoni will burn your mouth from the spice. so a strange combo or no flavor and waaaay too much. the restaurant has two levels and a drinks/desserts bar on the top level, so that's handy. read more

I lived in Mannheim and used to love coming to this place. The food is great and the atmosphere is very stimulating and enjoyable. I love this place. I was sad to know they only have a few locations in the US. Go to this place when you have a chance, you may never see anything like. Its awesome. read more
