I would travel a great distance to have a loaf of bread for this place…read more This is a true bakery with everything baked by hand the night before in house... not shipped in from a factory like many others. Often it is still warm form the oven. it is a family run shop , sometimes even grandma is behind the till. I truly LOVE this place , it will be on my top 5 things I will miss about Belgium once I return back to Canada. Since everything is produce by the father over night, the shop is only open in the mornings and until around 12 or 1 . NOT on Sundays If you live in Leuven or just visiting it is worth getting up early , taking a walk and buying the best loaf of bread you will ever have Try the "houtak" ( not sure of dutch spelling) it is a dark round loaf .

Its quality is reputable and therefore weekends often have crowds lining up that reach outside the shop. In these times, the workers can mess up your order, so beware or wait it out. Their service is quite amicable however.
