Finding a good electrician is hard. Finding a great electrician is harder. Finding an honest…read moreelectrician... that's basically on par with spotting an honest politician. After moving into our 10-year-old house, things started falling apart. Within a year, our water heater blew up, the ice maker quit without notice, and both A/C units needed new capacitors. Then a few downstairs outlets stopped working. We ignored it and just rotated through the ones that did, kicking the can down the road. That worked fine until we bought an infrared sauna. It powered on a few times, then gave up. I checked the specs, so I knew it wasn't a load issue. So I did what I always do. Opened Yelp and started searching for someone who looked competent and, more importantly, honest. That's how I found Ray at iPower. Ray answered right away and scheduled us immediately. No "4-hour window" nonsense. He said 7:30 AM. He showed up at 7:20. Early. That alone was a great first impression. He diagnosed two separate issues and actually took the time to do it right. He methodically tested outlets, checked breakers, and didn't flinch at my loud, borderline unbearable dogs. One issue turned out to be loose wiring at an outlet feeding the sauna. Took some time to track down, but he found it and fixed it properly. The second issue was trickier. He opened up what felt like half the outlets on the first floor looking for a loose connection, didn't find one, then moved upstream. Instead of immediately replacing the breaker like most companies would, he cleaned it out, reset it, and got everything working again. He was upfront that if it happens again, then sure, replace the breaker. But he didn't jump straight to the expensive option. That's the difference. Ray is thorough, honest, punctual, and clearly knows what he's doing. The guy actually diagnoses instead of guessing and trying to upcharge. Safe to say, Ray is now my go-to electrician.
