Van Nuys station does the job if the trains are scheduled to stop here. Free parking, machines that work Ok. Other than that, this station might be the ugliest I have been in. Industrial, under construction, it is rather unpleasant to wait for a train here. They work all around while you wait. Noisy as well! If you live close by, then sure... otherwise, I prefer other stops in the Valley or use Union Station! No shade, it needs a lot of work to make it look like a train station! read more

Safety at RISK! Bus 5919 from Van Nuys to Bakersfield. This is the San Joaquin bus. The driver is extremely lax, lazy, has broken several laws..and doesn't keep eyes on road or both hands on wheel. She tailgates cars ..this is scary bc her lack of paying attention and the weight of this bus already decrease her reaction and stopping time. We almost got in an accident before Newhall. Apparently, she forgot her routes. The trip started with her getting over several lanes from HOV . Over double yellow lines (they broke soon after, and she could have safely got over and not missed exit She takes her eyes off the road several times to eat sunflower seeds, often drives with one hand !! And the really bad thing is she talks and texts while operating this actually heavier than normal bus This lady is way too lax, and if we crash or if she does, it's her fault read more

They are rude the train was postponed, didn't notify me and the worker got in my face. Also did you not make it clear where you need to wait for the train? The platform is huge and if you're too far up your message train it'll leave you on the 10 second say I like you to get on and off. read more

Good station, but it could use a clean-up/junk removal from the landscaping and front of the station. Easy connection to the Metro 744 and 169 buses, which connects to the Van Nuys FlyAway location (see my separate Yelp review on the FlyAway to LAX) and also the LADOT 573 bus to UCLA/Century City at Saticoy/Balboa. In terms of food options, there's a Carl's Jr. across the street. If you're feeling courageous, you can walk under the bridge northward on Van Nuys Blvd where you'll find a McDonald's, Chipotle, and an In N' Out Burger (my personal favorite). Public transit has improved 100% in Los Angeles in the last 20 years, but we cannot allow transit centers designed for commuters to become homeless camps. read more

It's a short hop from Westwood to this little tiny train station on the north side of the city. But think about it, there free parking, some decent seats, no lines, and an In-n-out 2 blocks up the street. Waiting to pick up your friend was never easier. read more

The announcer and employees at this station are beyond friendly and helpful. I was confused as to where I should board an they were very kind and quick to make sure I had everything I need to go where I need to go. The station itself is relatively clean and feels safe. Lots of trees and plants to make the landscape quite relaxing and beautiful when you are waiting for your train. I definitely recommend this station when you're traveling about Los Angeles! read more

Very friendly and helpful staff, I've traveled from here for over the last 10yrs and always a pleasure!

What a great location. I am happy that they have a train station in the valley so us valley folk don't have to go to union station all the time. I used the train a lot when I was in college to go back and forth from the valley to San Diego for school. Never had a problem. The train is late sometimes at Van Nuys but never ridiculously late. The station is small and convenient, unlike Union Station. You can sit outside or inside and if you have bus transfer, it is easy to find. read more

It feels safe. Not many people. One vending machine with chips , cookies, and one drinks machine. Bathrooms are clean enough ( you need to be buzzed in) . Across the street is Carls Jr and down the street is Starbucks and In n Out. No shade outside . Inside there's plenty of seats and A/C. There is also a place to charge your phone! With USB or regular outlets! Yay to that if your phone is dying. read more

Quick, clean and in and out to catch the Amtrak with free parking to boot. Safe as can be. Not a place to have long lay overs thought LOL.

i can't believe the number of people on here whining about union station. i go there all the time and its incredibly convenient, incredibly beautiful, and incredibly easy to get around. that is, if you aren't a lazy azz. you actually have to WALK a bit, but who cares when its this beautiful and historic? seriously, some people. perhaps you would like it torn down for a mcdonalds? (spits) anyway, this station is ok but its NO UNION STATION ; P tho i miss the leather seats, noir atmosphere, art deco decorative touches and the fact that it isn't a historic landmark- but i won't hold that against it. read more

What a gr8 place to travel around from time to time! No worries about traffic or a-holes crossing ur path for u to get from one place to the other in less time. I go here every time I make a trip to San D.... Or up north :) less ppl, more seats to sit down and nice quiet place to chill right before ur train comes. Keep it up! :D read more

Easiest train station to get to. Departing and arriving here is so simple. Connections to LA Metro and DASH buses are downstairs.

It serves it's purposes. It's a small station with a ticket counter. It gets the job done. But it's kind of dirty and reminds me of a DMV or some other type of government office waiting room. In short, it's depressing. So, don't get there too early it will only change the mood for your upcoming journey. On the up side, there's ample parking available and best part -- ITS FREEEEEEEEEE! read more

I'll pick Van Buys station over Union station any day. It's quick and easy to get in and out of. The parking is free and a lot less crowded.

Worst service I have ever received. To the male with the glasses who works at the front desk. Every single time he is extremely rude and unprofessional. He was yelling at every person in line about something whatever it could be and it was just too much. My husband is in the military and every time he comes to LA he says it is so unpleasant knowing he has to deal with this. I experienced it myself on my way to his Naval Station in SD and it was just unacceptable to treat people that way. I hope they make some changes. read more

The van nuys station is five star don't get me wrong. But I'm here about the train operator or driver. We waited for this train as we came early to treat my son and me our first train ride. We sat on the wrong bench for we didn't know exactly which but we only sat a few feet away where the train stops for loading and unloading passengers, so it can't be any longer than 5 seconds to make it to the first door but it was closed. We ran fast to the part of the train that was open which was 2 or 3 doors away but before we made it the train moved and closed its only door that was open. I can attest he didn't stay stopped for for more than 15 seconds. Maybe that's only the time he got to stop, I am not sure. But it sure is not cool when he saw as coming as he was slowing down to stop. It was not cool for me and my 4 years old son. Anyway, I don't think they care but it's nice that we have yelp where we can share our experience with every establishments. Anyway, the time of this incident train stops to drop and pickup at Vannuys station @ 01:11 pm dating July 20, 2016. That should help pick the responsible party. read more
