I have a 81 GMC Sierra Classic 1500 Stepside. Have several parts that need installing and replaced. Alot of mechanics would either flake on me or would not want to work on 95 cars or newer. Found Angel here at Value Automotive. They do work on older vehicles!. Seems like a straight forward guy. I had to tow my truck there to get it to him. His wife handles the front office she was extremely helpful and friendly. Also I think Issac one of the mechanics there was also friendly and easy to talk to. They are busy from the looks of things and thats ok. That lets me know that they know what they are doing because they have that business flow. Also alot of what i see in the garage area is very neatly organized and clean. I mean I seen alot of shops and usually they have parts all over the place. Not here they look organized and straight forward. Will update with finished results on this review. So for initial review on intake and customer service they get a five from me. A week later my engine light came on Angel squeezed me in to get a full diagnostic & instead of going the expensive route like other places would so they can over charge you and just replace parts that aren't part of the problem he knew EXACTLY what the issue was and was able to get my car running back to normal in one day with no need for unnecessary parts that weren't the problem. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE TO FIX YOUR CAR! My daughter had her car towed here, she was called and told that they had to put purchase a new battery so that they could evaluate her car. She was verbally quoted $ 225.00 for the battery, she never was given a written estimate, nor was she told about additional costs. When my daughter called to pick up the car, she was told that the battery ended up costing over $300.00 and the total due was $640.00! The owners very rude wife hung up on my when I tried to intervene, and advise her about the "Write It Right" law in California. I also did some further investigation about this company, and they've had several complaints where the police had to get involved. My daughter's brother-in-law is an attorney and her other brother-in law is a police officer in San Bernadino, we're planning to go forward with legal action against this company. read more

Mechanic Warranty no-good. Went in for a complete diagnostic and didnt get one, $3000 later. Lots of hidden fees. The labor fee was ridiculous. A lot of fast talk and burden on owner to complete diagnostic puzzles, for such a high labor rate. Lots of deals over the phone to get you in, always a higher price tag on the way out. Lots of excuses; (covered in oil, didnt order parts yet, supplier didnt have parts, supplier isnt sending parts, not included in diagnostics...dirty skid plate?! Really dude, Im not that stupid, and fyi I dont have a disability.) The shop is under new management, and its only been 2 years. I had my car in his shop for a long time, I showed a lot of patience. I have a 4 Runner. I had one request in addition to the diagnostic. "Please stop the leak." Mechanic demonstrated understanding of the leak and location of the leak, but needed the owner to "do the rest" Unless additional fees paid. This guy was too lazy to remove the timing belt, even though I had it suggested in my original report to him based on owner history. And I was without my car for such a long time that it became difficult to defend Angel from criticism. People would ask me about the car, and I became convinced I was just getting ripped off. After a few months of reflecting on this, I had decided it was better to avoid this mechanic and forget about his warranty for labor. So despite my history with this shop for the past 15 years, the new management changed the game and Im not going back. Toyotas are not complicated. Changing gaskets and fluids and easily exposed wheels does not warrant such long hours at such a high rate. I got a good deal on the car but I lost it at the shop. I had every intention of being happy with your work, but the fees are bad and the warranty is bad, and the information is lacking and the leak persists and as far as your knowledge is concerned, if you knew the leaks were coming from the front of the engine after you replaced some gaskets, why wasnt that included in the same operation? I would have preferred you complete the job, but I dont think you were willing unless I paid you another 1000$, sorry you reached your limit. You wasted a lot of my time for someone with a high labor rate. read more

I took my truck to have the engine swapped with a used engine that I purchased elsewhere. After the swap was completed I picked up my truck and found it still did not run correctly. I returned to Value Auto and spoke to Angel about it. He took time out from his work on other vehicles to take a look at my truck. He had no obligations to help as he had completed the work in which I had paid for. However he went beyond the call of duty and advised me on what may be causing the problem with my truck. I followed his advice but found my truck still had issues. Two days later I dropped my truck off with Angel to find the cause of what was wrong with the truck. I knew it wasn't the result of the engine being installed wrong. It was something external that I was missing. By the end of the day Angel called me with great news. He found the cause of the wrong. He offered to do the repairs for me at a very reasonable rate which I happily accepted. When I picked up my truck I felt very grateful that Angel took the time to assist and was more than fair with his price for repairs. I'm am thrilled that my truck is running better than it has in a long time. It's not at 100% but close enough for now. I highly recommend this shop to anyone who is in need of of a honest and professional mechanic. 5 STARS read more

I brought my vehicle into Value Automotive to have the transmission serviced. The mechanic did not restore factory levels which caused my vehicle to jump and stop shifting. After getting towed back to the shop, the mechanic said it needed more transmission fluid. The transmission continued to have the same problem. After bringing it back again, the mechanic said that it was not the transmission and to just keep driving it. I then took my vehicle to another shop where they determined that the vehicle did not have enough transmission fluid. The mistake was not recognized by the mechanic and there was no apology. I do not recommend this shop. read more

To expensive my buddy left his car there they quoted him a price 6 month later still not finish with the car it was wiring my buddy passed away suddenly when we went to pay the 1200 quote it jumped to 2000 then they lied on the paperwork knowing my buddy wasn't there to defend himself closed look at the so called work on the car it was clear they overcharged him gouged him and lied about the work .. pretty low class and making a distasteful comment about the way family should've handle the situation but that comment was made over the phone not when his brother was standing there no no .. read more

Value Automotive is definitely the place to take your vehicle for just about anything from an oil change, brakes, alignment to a major repair. Originally, I went to Russ on a referral for a simple oil change and he discovered a leak underneath on my new car. . . He told me what to do, I took it to the dealer and they proceeded to do a major expensive repair on faulty seals under warranty with dealer. Something like that may have gone unnoticed and eventually a big problem. Since then, I have been taking my car back to Russ at Value Automotive for all maintenance and repairs. I would not recommend this mechanic. Brang my Expedition for rough idling and all he told me to do was fix a spark plugs. There are a few other issues that he did not even find out about he offered no help and has very poor customer service. Wasted money on diagnostic. read more

Great Experience. Have a 2006 Saab (european car) engine light came on one night and wouldn't pick up speed. The new owners Angel & Adriana of Value Automotive truly helped me out with a smog related repair. I took my car to get the smog done during this crazy virus quarantine and it didn't pass. An auto repair place next to the smog certification place quoted me $800 to fix a sensor. Something about the cost just didn't feel right so I didn't get the work done. I called around to a few other places and struggled to find someone to repair my car before my tags expired. I then took my car to another repair shop and after sitting there for 3 hours they could not figure out what was wrong with it. With only a couple days before I would have to pay a late registration fee I asked a friend of mine if they new a reliable auto repair place. He told me that he had gone to this shop to get some specialty work done on an old Ford Mustang and that mechanics really knew a lot about cars. He said that Angel now fixes all of his cars. So I gave them a call and Angel was able to fit me in the same day once I told him my situation. Within just a couple of hours my 2012 Chevy Equinox was repaired at a much lower cost of $350. Both Adriana and Angel came across super nice and professional. The next day I returned to the smog place and it passed. I can't even express how pleased I am with their customer service. We are always happy to refer people to Russ, His prices are fair and his work is reliable. What more can you possibly want? He has done all of our post-warranty maintenance on our GMC Sierras, BMWs, Prius, Solara, Audi, 4Runner, Highlander..the dude knows cars and will refer you elsewhere if it's out of his wheelhouse (removing runflats requires special tools I guess).
