I arrived at the Kansas Speedway and was immediately in awe of how monstrous this place was when you are standing in the infield. I signed the waiver, got my wrist band, slipped on my flame retardant jumpsuit, and was in pit row face to face with a shiny blue dodge with the legendary #43 on it's side within a blink of an eye. I was fitted with a helmet, told how to enter the vehicle, strapped in with a neck brace, told to smile for the recording camera and in what seemed like 3 seconds we were out of pit row and heading for a banked curve at a speed I've only encountered sitting in a jet on take-off. Adrenalin pumping, a rumble and a roaring engine blasting me and then the surrealism kicks in - an awareness of the danger when you see the approaching wall and have no idea how those tires are gripping that embankment without sliding into the wall or the car next to you; and it just doesn't matter; you're face to face with the monster yet a professional is behind the wheel and all you have to do is soak up the experience. This is truly a bucket list experience that anyone who needs speed. G forces, or just a healthy serving of adrenalin in their life.

The Kings course looked fun and had a lot of obstacles that the kids loved. However, we had to go around a lot of torn up carpet and put the tees back together. There was someone coming behind us to blow the leaves off the course, so that was a good sign. It wasn't a bad price and it's more nostalgic for me, so I'm sure we will be back. I recently went here on a girl's day outing with some friends and, while we had fun, the place is really run down. Many of the holes are damaged. Examples: the "starting pad" on several was completely detached, water not on in the fountains, outdoor carpeting making up the "green" was wrinkled or sliced, various themed elements on the holes were rusty, many elements in the holes were blocked forcing us to go all the way back to the front desk inside the building and ask for new balls, the hole in one machine at the end of the course (where you hit the ball once and if it goes in the hole the machine gives you a ticket for a free game) didn't work, etc. Inside, the game roomed smelled of marijuana and several machines (including the one that turns your cash into coins) were not working. I was very disappointed with the condition of the place, both inside and out.

Race day is so much, can be overwhelming with a big crowd. It's like a big party with cars and merch. They also have other things to do like pickleball if you have time to play, watch toys race, check out other cars/trucks in the fan area. We went during a rain, so best believe everyone is trying to stay dry. They also have truck to blow dry their own track so it can be safe for everyone. The Garage tour was so fun and a must do. It's great for first timers like myself. We got to tour the garage area where you get to see all the cars that are racing. You get to see the pit crew do their job and make sure it's good. Also, got a chance to meet a real live racer Alex Bowman, it was surreal. He even autograph some items for us. So cool. This race, I saw a bunch of cars crashing and it was amazing. I'm a fan now.
