What an odd sense of deja vu I experienced walking into the Valley County Courthouse. Had I been here before? (Well, yes, in fact I had, but work with me here.) This courthouse is VERY familiar: the facade, the strangely configured bathrooms, the leather-covered double-door to the District Courtroom. I got a chance to chat with the judge, told him that I swear I'd seen this floor plan before. He said that was quite likely. As it turns out, the courthouse is a WPA project and had probably been used several times. 1920s tract-housing?
Well, it turns out that it is the same floor plan as the Clay County Courthouse in Clay Center, Nebraska. They are virtually identical. Far enough away from each other so that very few people would notice.
