I took a wonderful Hatha Vinyasa class with Lara this morning at Ardha Yoga Estudio…read more I booked the class in advance on the app "SigueFit" (add $ first in order to select a class) & arrived at the studio early prepared with a translated synopsis of my situation: "I don't speak Spanish. I don't have a yoga mat. I practice yoga every day at home in the United States, so I can just watch the instructor. I need to rent a mat. If this is not okay, I understand & will leave. Thank you so much." The employee at the front desk was so nice & patient with me. She explained the layout of the studio & allowed me to rent a mat for $1000.00 (approximately $1 USD). There were lockers, showers, & a water refill station. The studio itself was spacious, well lit, & inviting. There were floor to ceiling mirrors on 3 out of 4 of the walls! This was a new experience for me, & I learned that I really liked it. Seeing my reflection allowed me to make minor adjustments to my movement & form. Lara was a great instructor. Since I understood less than 1% of what she was saying, I relied on visual clues & tone to follow the class. Her visual cues were so helpful & I learned the cadence of the class quickly through her tone. The class was slow paced (much slower than I'm accustomed to) but in this situation, it was perfect for me. The temperature of the studio was very comfortable - not too hot & not too cold. There were ceiling fans that provided a slight breeze. I saw on their website that Ardha mostly offers heated Bikram yoga classes, but the Hatha class was not heated. Finally, I noticed that the students were of all age groups & all levels of flexibility/experience, which I see as a major green flag. That says to me that not only is everyone welcomed, the environment is conducive to growing, learning, & personalized practice. Thank you Ardha & thank you Lara! If I'm ever in Buenos Aires again, I'll be sure to visit.

Smells a bit like dirty socks... I dislike that about some Bikram places. Showers and lockers and rental mats and towels available. Water and Juices. Where space is a luxury, they offer it to you in abundance. I find the heat and humidity perfect. Some places have too much heat and almost no humidity so you feel like a cactus in a desert waiting for a rainstorm, or too much humidity and no heat and you just feel like a wet puppy. Here, the regulate the heat and humidity perfectly so your muscles are nice and loose and you can get you garudasana on with a smile on your face. They recently had a sale, offering 50% off of any package, so yeah, keep a look out for that.

I've done the introductory week for 240 pesos and I missed only one day. I've had classes with two of their instructors and I must say that I am impressed with their usage of the bikram dialogue and their knowledge of anatomy to help guide you through the postures. They seem to really want you to understand the postures to fully benefit from the bikram series. Me like a lot. The space itself is beautiful, four floors in a beautifully refurbished house is Belgrano. The ground holds reception, the first floor has the male restrooms, changing rooms with showers, massage rooms, and a waiting room complete with books and complimentary tea. The second floor houses the female restrooms and changing rooms (and I assume showers) as well as more massage rooms. The third foor is the an ample studio space with full-length mirrors. I am a little sad that my introductory week is over, but I'm sure I will be back. Me re like.

I had water w a few drops of Chlorophyll that made it a big green. Instead of telling me beforehand, he took my water out of the room @ the begging of the class and left me without water in 100 degree room for 90 minutes The place has carpet which for me is terrible for yoga practice, and not very hygienic, even if you have a mat, since the teacher wont let you turn the mat if you don't want to step on the carpet for certain asanas. I also had an injury in my elbow, and couldn't stretch it most of the time, he kept asking me to do it, even though I kept trying to point to the wrap... hoping he'll figure it out. He didn't. At one point he was like, I saw u stretching it before, like dude, Im not lying ‍ I taught yoga over 15 years ago, and the first thing you learn in training is that you have to listen to your body. Your body knows best. If it hurts, don't push it. At the end of the class I was dehydrated and weak, politely asked if I could pay and leave, but he got angry and loudly reprimanded me saying I was late to the class (a min) and he let me in, but then I couldn't wait for him to enter my info on his database ‍ Loud, rude, and def a bad strategy to have a client come back. I was so shock I lost my ability to react. I will recommend go to Fernando Calvinio's studio in Belgrano R or Urban Lotus. Very professional and amazing teachers. I will kindly suggest to this man to deal with his anger before he runs out of business. Really bad for you and specially to promote yoga Anger is undercover pain. It festers. And if you don't deal with it you will lash out on people who have not caused it. So sad. All the best.

To no surprise, Hitbox was a favorite for each of us. I've never worked out with boxing gloves and was initially extremely nervous, but it was great! The trainers are awesome and the music behind the workouts are really good. I've only worked out with 3 of them (Beto, Wally and Alex), but I like them all. I don't speak much Spanish and they were helpful and patient with me. I normally went in the mornings at 8 or 9 AM. The classes are approximately an hour long, but by the time you leave the class you will be drenched with sweat. They have nice locker rooms and places you can change and shower if you need. I definitely recommend this place. I hadn't worked out seriously in years and they were helpful with their techniques and recommendations.

I didn't know many workout-related words in Spanish, but the instructor took the time to inform my group with everything we needed. The workout felt rewarding, the right amount of tough, and fun! Great music playing while doing a set of HIIT workout with weights then switching to punching bags which made it easy to stay motivated. The bathrooms were pretty nice and the place had a juice/smoothie bar as well to recoup after the workout.
