I came to this location on Super Bowl Sunday and picked up some meat from their meat department and one of the young girls working the counter was so rude. I didn't bother speaking to management because they never fix the issue so I decided to let the public know instead. It's not the first time that employee has been rude and I'm sure it's not the last. Yesterday (5/4/2023) I went and bought chicken wings when I got home and opened the package to cook the wings the smell was disgusting. I called to see if I could get a refund over the phone and they insisted I had to bring the disgusting wings back to the store, which I did because I was not about to give them my money. The manager was not apologetic at all and insisted had an attitude. Please be careful when you buy any type of meat. Thankfully my nose was able to smell this before food poisoning my family. Out of all the stores in the AV this is one of the only Vallartas who refuses to give you bags in self checkout until AFTER YOU PAY. I just spent almost $200 on groceries on 54 items and spent half an hour paying for my things and bagging items up by MYSELF. I get it everyone does self checkout, but you guys are just selfish. I went to self checkout because the 2 lanes that had an attendant were packed, which means you're understaffed. You guys are obviously too worried about lining your pockets that you don't care about providing your clients with good customer service. Their excuse for not giving us bags, was that it messes with the scales, well the attendant had to come clear my register 4 times because it wasn't calculating things properly. Today went to the juice shop and ordered a juice from their menu and the girl was taking super long to make the juices for all customers. Then when finally my order was ready she gave it to another person who took it and then came back with the juice saying it wasn't his. Why the heck will she give it to him. This place is awesome!! It is always super packed with people and for a good reason. A grocery store with a restaurant inside! They have a bunch of different delicious food and pan dulce. You can sit down and have dinner and then go grocery shopping after no need to worry about being hungry while grocery shopping. They have the best carne asada out of all the places I've ever tried and I have several people who don't have this store close to them say it is the best they've ever tasted. It always looks clean and organized and the workers are friendly. Only complaint I have about this place is maybe the wait time to check out sometimes but it's expected considering it's always full. Went to Vallarta on 47th st. East. I was going crazy looking for tomatoes. I ask one of the guys that works in produce, where the tomatoes were. Usually there's a huge area with tomatoes. So I accidentally placed my bag of seafood after I paid for it in someone elses cart and since I had other bags I didn't realize this until I got home. I went back to the store and Luis ( the store manager) said he would have lost and prevention look at the camera. Back to the one in the AV, came to do my usual grocery shopping on Sunday. I buy my usual grocery it came up to more than mind you 200 dollars and by the way that is every week. What am I told? To bag my own groceries, huh?!!!! I thought I was at Vallarta! not Food 4 Less! Why would I need to bag my own groceries? Isn't that why your prices are so fluctuated? Why my cooking oil is 3.99 and at Food 4 Less it's 2.89? Because you guys are factoring in the baggers paycheck. What do I get out it? You didn't lower my price, you didn't give me a discount, is your bagger gonna give me part of his paycheck to do his job? I'm sorry what? If I gave my customers the excuse of I'm shorthanded, do my job...they would look at me like are you serious? I will never buy my meats from Vallarta again especially the marinated ones for asada or marinated chicken. It's unfortunate because I live so close to Vallarta but already three times I had to take the meat back because it's spoiled and don't notice until I get home or after it's grilled, disgusting. It's also such a hassle because when we take it back the managers act like it's our fault even though the meat is returned the same day we buy it and they want to act like they don't smell the horrible rotten smell. From now on I will get my meats from Stater brothers which is the next closest to my house or Costco even though it's further away and a little bit more expensive but worth it. read more
