Thought we'd give this a try now it has been open for about a month.
It has been tastefully re-decorated & is much warmer & more homely than La Sorrentina was.
Apparently it is now owned by one of the previous Chef's, namely Mario.
There was a warm welcome & the 4 of us were shown to our table. Pleased to see that is was quite busy for a Saturday night, just like it used to be. This helped generate a good overall atmosphere.
Similar menu to La Sorrentina, but not as many "Specials". This didn't bother us as we stuck to the basics, ie, Pizza & Pasta.
Food was good, however, the service was very slow & disjointed, so this let the evening down a bit. We had to chase drinks a couple of times.
Bill was £90, with a slight overcharge, which was soon corrected. They must use similar tills to Oven !!!!
Will be back, but in about a month or so's time to give them chance to get more organised. read more
