We'd give Val Schwab 10 Stars if we could!!! We were living in an apartment in San Jose and our lease was up. We decided we wanted to start investing in our future by purchasing our first home. We were only 25 years old back in 2010 and were working with a tight budget. When we met Val, we explained to her what we were looking for. We wanted to find a home in an area where we would feel comfortable with our daughter playing outside. Val kept it real with us and said with our price range it would be tough to find what we were looking for, in the area we were looking for. But she went to work. We looked at multiple houses. The houses that we were finding in our price range just didn't feel right. With us being 25 and not having a big budget. We were worried that maybe we wouldn't be taken seriously by a Realtor. Well, I can honestly say that Val never made us feel that way. She took us to easily over 13 houses. Even after 13 houses, her mood never changed. We never felt like she was just trying to push us into a house to get a sale. We felt like she was genuinely looking out for our best interest. When we told her that we felt like we were going to have to settle, Val said, "No, I am going to find you your dream house!" She worked tirelessly to find us our dream house. Well, she came through. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a Wednesday and she said that she had found "The House." She called us and said that we were going to have to act fast. She said that the house would be showing that weekend and if we could make an offer before it showed that we would have less competition. She informed us that the home was a foreclosure and that we would be going against other cash offers. But she knew the selling agent and she felt confident that she would be able to get us this house. On our way to the house, there was a park down the street with a running trail. As we pulled up to the house we saw kids playing in the street that were the same age as our daughter. Our eyes lit up and now we were even more excited to see the house. This was just getting better and better. As we walked in, what we saw behind the dark-colored walls and gross brown carpet was the perfect floorplan! We looked past the outdated kitchen and the strange color scheme of the house. The house was set up just the way we wanted! It needed some TLC but it was perfect! In the perfect area! We knew this was the house we had been looking for. We had to have it!!! Well, Val came through! Not only did we get the house!!!! But she also got the seller to cover some of the repairs. Once we got the keys to the house, we immediately had someone come in to remove all the popcorn and repaint the inside. Haha. I can still remember walking through the house with dark forest green walls. Dark brown walls, with brown carpet. Duck and Pig Tiles in the kitchen with light blue formica countertops. Orange faux paint in the bathroom. Haha. When we first walked back into our new home after the new paint job... It looked so bright and big now that all those dark colors were gone. That was 10 years ago and we can honestly say that this truly has been our dream home. We are now 35 and have 3 girls and they have made some life-long friends here. We couldn't be happier with the purchase we made, and the decision we made to go with Val Schwab. And we couldn't have done it without the guidance from Val! We really owe her everything. We would definitely recommend her. She was very knowledgeable of the area. She answered any and all questions we had along the way. She really listened to what we wanted and our budget.
