Went with my family on Saturday around 11:15am in the morning. There were about 3 or 4 filled tables when we got there, but it got busy about an hour later. We ordered baby bok choy with garlic, half order of roasted duck, house special crispy noodles (egg noodles), spicy mapo tofu with ground pork and a side of white rice and shared family style. PROS: quick service, lots of food, pretty good flavor CON: spicy mapo tofu was not spicy, felt a little rushed in ordering, too much cornstarch in most of the dishes We were seated right away and were given a big pot of tea. Tea was okay, but it was a little bitter (may have been over steeped). We were asked if we were ready to order within 5 minutes even though most of us were still looking at the menu. When I told them we needed more time, one of the servers stood nearby. I'm sure she wanted to be readily available when we were ready, but it felt like she was hovering as she was within 5 feet from us and asked again 5 minutes later. There were plenty of empty tables around and no one waiting. Food came out right away and portions were large. The baby bok choy was a little overcooked, but delicious with full garlic flavor. Mapo tofu was also good, but lacked the spiciness, some part of the duck was a little salty, and the noodles weren't quite as crispy as I would've liked. Overall the flavor was okay, but it did get a little tiring after awhile as all the dishes except for the duck had a lot of cornstarch or other thickening agent...more so than some of the other Chinese restaurants I've been too. read more

There are a lot of restaurants in this mall area. But I chose to eat here since It was busy on a Saturday night. Service was good. Food was great. Ordered the roasted duck and the potato leaf dishes. The vegetable dish tasted fresh and I liked how they were not too soggy and had some crunchiness. The duck was tender and savory. The complimentary tapioca pudding for dessert was good and not too sweet. Overall I'm really satisfied with this Cantonese food establishment. It definitely hit the spot. read more

Walked in to order for Togo, the waitress was on the phone and replied back something "she's not here" we asked for the menu to order for Togo. Ordered half a Peking duck Peking spare ribs Salt and Pepper crabs Togo The bill was like $79 Came home, The duck barely had any meat on it and it looked like they grabbed random pieces and placed the anorexic duck together. We had made reservations but the staff had forgotten about it. Luckily, we were having an early dinner and the place was almost empty. They have a big menu which includes family style dinners. There's something for everyone. From authentic Chinese cuisine - lamb stew in clay pot, to American Chinese food - sweet & sour chicken. A couple of our favorites: chef's special squab and beef brisket with daikon. Portion size is good. My go-to lunch when I'm at work. They're good for a quick lunch because they're quick and portions are good for what you pay for. You get a complimentary small soup with their lunch special as well. It generally rotates between hot and sour soup and egg drop. However, I always get their non lunch special item, Roasted duck with rice and bakchoy. Why? Because have you seen their portion? It's a simple dish that to me, can not go wrong. It tastes amazing, brings back memories and it feeds a family of 4!(I generally eat for 4 people haha). I've tried a lot of their other dishes like mongolian chicken, beef and broccoli and their fried pepper fish (which taste better than other places IMO)and they're a little on the oily side but that's generally how many chinese restaurants are. But they're all delicious nonetheless. Owner and servers are all super nice. Something about this area, makes all the service feel like family more than anything. This is the newer location of the same restaurant that used to be in Chinatown, and they still churn out some quality food. The restaurant is small, and tucked around the corner from Ranch 99 in the Great Wall Mall. The menu is extensive and portion sizes are quite large. The four of us made our way through the following: Roasted duck Beef chow fun Lamb stew Chicken and salted fish fried rice Pea vines Everything came out piping hot and hit the spot. Luckily, we only waited about 10 minutes for a table. The space itself isn't the fanciest of places, but you are here for the food. We ordered: Seafood hot pot: nice variety of seafood and tofu. Peking duck (1/2 order): surprisingly, this was really good. The skin was crispy (wish I had ordered the full duck). Sauteed pea vines: nice and garlicky. Salt and pepper pork chops: can't go wrong with fried pork and garlic. Clams in black bean sauce: good and not fishy tasting. I have visited V Garden when they were located in Chinatown, and the food here is just as good as what you will find in Seattle. V Garden has always been my reliable go to spot for affordable Hong Kong/Cantonese family eats. We finally came in for lunch yesterday after a long hiatus dues to Covid and I was happy to see nothing changed. We arrived a little bit after 12 and was able to be seated right away. Certain tables were block off for proper social distance and I appreciate that. There was only one waitress serving the dine-in customers and taking care of take out so she did an amazing job as we didn't have to wait too long for our foods. We ordered their pork and preserve egg congee, the ultimate comfort food. We also got the roast duck and omg, it was so good. We ordered the black bean rice noodles and garlic bok choy. The food here was good, but not great. I liked the huge portions. We had a lot for leftovers! The restaurant itself looked decent, very mediocre Chinese restaurant style. The service wasn't the best either. The waitress seemed busy with other things that even though it was fairly empty. New customers would be in a line waiting to be seated without anyone to be found to seat them. She wasn't attentive to any of the customers and seemed like the only server in the room. She never filled our water and only asked until AFTER we asked for the checks. Tasty food but the service is like most Asian establishment with poor service. Well today, they hit a new low by bringing hot entrees without rice while we sat waiting until the food got cold. Went to pay the check with a credit card with my guests leaving the tip in cash..., and the cashier points to the TIP section and asked if I was leaving the TIP on the table?!!! This is my family's go-to place for Chinese food. Their food is always delicious, service prompt, courteous and polite even during the craziest of times. I have yet to find a dish that we didn't like. There's food to love for every member of the family, young or old. Our favorites, yang chow fried rice, house special chow mein with crispy noodles, general tso's chicken (a little spicy but tolerable for kids), seafood and tofu hotpot, even the noodle soups and rice topping. The only downer is that they don't have steamed pork buns to go with the noodle, but you can stop by the Chinese Bakery just around the corner (I'll review that place separately!) Portion sizes are always big (noodle soups are enough for 2 meals, I feel!) and priced just right, too! Thank you V Garden for being there always when we crave comfort food! read more

We were just here. They seated us (a party of 4, 2 of which are kids) at a six top. We decided what to order and were drinking our tea, when a party of six walks in and they actually made us move to a smaller table to make room for them. No "would you mind" or "I'm so sorry." We were essentially ordered to do it. No comps, no apologies, nothing. Not only did it interrupt the atmosphere of our dinner, but it made us feel unwelcome and low priority. Well, this place is authentic for sure. I had a large take-out order. They forgot to include my rice that was with my order, which is the most annoying thing that can happen when you order Chinese food, right!!?! Lol, well the food was decent, and they otherwise did a good job packing the order for takeout. The people on the phone are rude, but I think it's more of a language barrier. I do think the pricing is high for what you are getting, but given the food is okay, I would definitely go back. Horrible customer service. Take out for Honey walnut shrimp and sat pepper calamari about $20 for each without any sides. Asked for 4 chili oil to go and lady says no I give you 2, I told her I would pay her for 2 more, she just ignored me! Never once thanked me for being a customer after paying. So I used the ones on their tables my plates and add chili oil that are placed on the tables. As I open up my calamari plate add the chili and then open my honey walnut plate only to see a long hair entwined with the batter of the shrimp( I'm standing right in front of the cashier. I pick up the hair and she glares at me with disappointment as if I was up to something! So I took it closer for her to see and she tell me what did I do!?! Like excuse me I found a hair which had batter all over it. Then says you want another one or refund no apology nothing? I told her refund because I wasn't going to wait around. This whole time this cashier has the most disrespectful attitude as if I am inconveniencing her. Then gave me my refund, which I told her as a customer I expected she she refund both my plates then says no this plate was the only thing wrong and I didn't want the one with the hair in it! I am just overly disgusted more of this woman than anything just her attitude made it more of inconvenience than the food. This is located inside of the Great Wall Mall. There is tons of parking but remember there is a grocery store as well as other small businesses inside the mall. So on the weekend it can get busy so I'd opt to go on a weekday. I gave this restaurant 3 stars based on a few factor. I know during this pandemic there isn't much business, but I would assume you'd try to keep what you have or getting. When we walked in the server sat us down immediately and check on us 2 times for our order, but when we needed to get additional items the server was really no where to be found. I watched an Uber driver yell 3 times to the back for his order and I watched another woman who wanted to order take away have to get up and yell to the back because no one was behind the register or on the floor. So service is so-so. Food was mediocre, my husband ordered the 1/2 order if free range chicken and I ordered that they suggested the beef steak and black pepper sauce. The beef steak was season okay, if you ate it was rice the meat became bland, but if you added soy sauce you had to be careful because it could be salty. The meat was cut in large pieces which is okay, but I wasn't offered a knife. I had to find a server to ask her for one which she did. The chicken was okay. The skin was super oily, so I'm not sure if they added more oil on top. It was decent but I've definitely had chicken that was a bit more moist and the skin was lighter. The dipping sauce was perfectly seasoned so that was good. Overall, it was an okay place, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

My current favorite Chinese place to eat nearby! The food is always consistent and the portions are pretty big. I ordered a half steamed chicken with garlic oil sauce. It was really good! The chicken was chilled and the sauce had the perfect garlic to oil ratio. I also ordered house special chow mien and it was good as well. The one thing that I commend them on the most is that the Bok Choy in the chow mien wasn't bitter. Most places that I eat at have really bitter Bok Choy but this place knew how to cook it correctly! Lastly, I ordered a oyster pork and tofu hot pot. Again, lots of oyster and tofu but a little skimpy on the pork. I don't really mind because the amount of oysters and pork made up for it. Sauce was not too salty as well. The reasons why they didn't get a full 5 stars is that 1) the service was lacking, I had to ask for my water refilled couple times 2) prices were more expensive compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area Definitely will be coming back soon! read more

This place brought back memories of Chengdu, China. Prompt service and friendly. We got seated immediately, even though the business was busy. They gave us ample time to study the menu, then asked if we had questions. I asked the waitress for suggestions and the recommendation was roasted duck, and beef chow fun. We added honey walnut shrimp and garlic baby bok choy. The duck was roasted to perfection and the sauce poured over it was sweet and savory. The only thing I would complain about is that it lacked meat; must have been a small duck. There was more bone than meat. The beef chow fun was a bouncy delight; noodle and bean sprouts were cooked perfectly. Accompanying beef was savory and generous. Honey walnut shrimp cooked sweet and tasty and brought to the table as if it was still cooking table side. Walnut was crispy and toasted, oh so perfectly. Garlic baby bok choy was a tad bit overcooked and watery. It was bland and soggy. I will definitely be back for the rice pot dishes. read more

And their food looked delicious and they were happily chomping down their plates. We a group of six ordered the usual Chinese entrees of orange chicken, beef broccoli, Mongolian beef, Sweet and sour chicken, honey walnut prawns, and the duck buns. Lo and behold nothing tasted right. I never thought anyone could mess up honey walnut prawns, but they did. It tasted like they deep-fried the prawns in chicken and pork oil. And it was completely over cooked. Orange chicken did not look appetizing. The broccoli on the broccoli beef was bitter and not cooked thoroughly. The duck buns that we ordered was good, but was not as pictured on the menu. There were less duck buns than we thought. The only good entree we picked was the Mongolian beef and even that was super oily. Probably will not be back. Also good luck on using the restroom because it was dirty and didn't seem to work very well. read more

Workers dont wear their mask at the cash register, you need to yell your order through the phone and they always get your order wrong anyways. The workers don't wear gloves when handling transactions and getting your food ready. This place is unsanitary and will be the last time I'll ever go here. read more

Nice little restaurant here at the Great Wall mall with a remodeled interior as what my gf told me. It has good dark wood furnishings and a TV to watch if you get tired of talking to your companions. Even though it is a small space they do have a good mix of small to large tables to accompany any parties. I had walked past this place quite a few times and wanted to try the stone pot rice with Chinese sausage and preserved duck since they have a large poster board of some of the dishes they serve outside of the restaurant. It was good, but I think they put in a lot more Chinese sausage than the preserved duck which made it seem unproportional. The preserved duck didn't taste like duck, but more like pieces of bacon. Hmmm??? The stone pot wasn't very large and both my gf and I finished of the whole order. We also tried the chow fun with beef which my gf never gets tired of eating and it was good, but needed a bit more seasoning. It was a good size and was just enough for the both of us to finish off. The prices of this place was on point and I wouldn't mind coming back to try a few more items on their main big menu. read more

I went to this restaurant today for lunch and I ordered egg foo yong. The egg foo young was not what I expected and after I took one bite, it tasted and smelt burnt. I told the waitress to please take it back and she refused and so no because I already asked for it. I explained that the meal was not expected and it was burnt. They tried to cover the burnt portions by submerging it in brown gravy. When it was time to pay she still try to charge charged me for the egg foo young. I gave her cash to cover the other items I'm I ordered and she said she was calling 9-1-1. She didn't offer to correct the meal at all. Horrible customer service.
