Renting a scooter from Via Vespa was the highlight of our Europe trip. The employees are very helpful, polite and informative. My husband drove and I rode in the back. I definitely recommend getting a Vespa with an extra storage if you are riding with someone in the back. That way you can store both helmets (no need to carry around) and the person in the back has some support on his/her back to lean on. Barcelona has a lot of hills and it was so much fun! Drivers are pretty safe there and used to motorcycles and scooters, so as long as you are cautious, no need to worry much. There are a lot of places to park scooters/bikes in Barcelona so it was great to just hop on and off to go wherever we want to. The GPS was a bit iffy so I would recommend to use your smart phone as a backup. read more

Via Vespa was very easy to rent a vespa from. The lady there was very nice and apologetic that the person who usually gives tutorials to people who have never driven vespas before was out sick that day. She showed us the ins and outs of the vespa and did her best to help us get the hang of it and we went on our merry way. We had a terrific day out on it on our last day in Barcelona and got it back in time to make our flight out. Loved renting our moped for the day! It was such a great experience! Be aware though that you do need a $300 hold per scooter on a card and and international license. The hold was quite the pain and the first guy who helped upon arrival wasn't the nicest person in the world but whoever helped us when we returned was amazing and made up for it! And it was very fairly priced!! Definitely recommend renting mopeds from here! read more
